Home of the Konti people, this ivory city is built of native konti stone half in and half out of the sea. Its borders touch the Silverwood, and stretch upwards towards Silver Lake, home of the infamous konti vision water. [Lore]

Sun Festival With a New Friend

Lora plopped down in the soft bleached grass, falling onto crossed legs. A view of the shining white city panned out in front of her, gleaming in the morning sunlight. In one hand she had a palette covered in colorful globs of paint and the other and held a bowl filled to the brim with water. She set both things carefully in the grass next to her. Disputes her care, she still ended up spilling a bit a of the water. Taking the leather satchel hanging around her shoulder of she placed it on the ground so she could access the art supplies that lay inside. Now that both her hands were accessible, she reached into the leather satchel that sat across her legs and pulled out a medium sized canvas from among the few choices that sat inside and all her paint brushes.

Despite the fact the paintbrushes weren't in the best quality and one size was missing from the set, Lora loved these paint brushes. Among other art supplies, she had inherited these from her mother; a fellow artist and her teacher. Using the paintbrushes from her mother, gave Lora hope that someday she would make some piece of art that even her mother would have been proud to say she had made. She liked to think that the paintbrushes made her feel closer to her mother but that was more of a cliche than the actual truth.

Thoughts of her mother made Lora miss her more so she dispelled the nostalgia and went back to preparing up to paint. Placing the canvas on the ground and the paintbrushes on it, Lora freed her hands once more.Using her now free hands, she moved her bag to the side so she had room for her canvas on her lap. She carefully picked up the canvas and set it down across her legs.

Selecting the medium brush from the brushes on the ground, Lora dipped it into the the white paint and began mixing it with dashes of black. Once she finished mixing, she had a light gray color.

In front of her, the city panned out across the horizon. It was indeed a very beautiful city. The morning was by far Lora's favorite time to paint the city. The way the golden light bounced off the white buildings almost seemed magical. The pristine cleanliness of the city with its plants and cobble road was enough to make Lora, raised in Syliras, amazed. Not that Syliras was a particularly dirt city but it certainly seemed that way when compared to Mura.

Lora set to work painting the outline of the city on her canvas. From where she sat, her back to the beach, she could see the small shops and houses in front of her and the large towers of the Opal Temple creating a backdrop against the sky. Despite this beauty, this was not what Lora reason for picking this specific place was. There was a home directly in front of Lora that had a beautiful garden growing in front of it. It's small but delightful garden centered around a well crafted statue of Avalis. She stood beautifully in the garden appearing to be looking intently over Lora's head at the sea.

Once she had the base coat down, Lora washed the paint brush off in the water. She rubbed the brush on the side of the bowl to get the excess water off then dipped it into the green paint. Moving some of the paint to a clean area of the palette, Lora mixed in some yellow to get the light greenish yellow color of the grass. There was a bit too much yellow so Lora picked up some more green and added it to her satisfaction. With the newly mixed color she began adding the base coat of where the grass would be.

She carefully constructed each brush stroke as she add more paint to the palette. She made sure to get the strokes in the right direction so that the grass could potentially take shape, although, with their singular color they hadn't yet.

Lora continued as she had begun, looking up at the garden, then looking back to her canvas. She mixed paints then added them with increasing detail to the canvas. As she continued, Lora started to hum quietly to herself. She eventually became entirely engulfed in her painting.
