Hair the colour of Teak, golden-brown tanned skin, six arms, 5 ft 4’’ tall, slender, 104 Lbs. Zaliki certainly does not have divine beauty- however, she has the classic Eypharian frame and face, with a few small, near unnoticeable scars. Others typically see her as exotic (the six arms don't help much in that regard), labeling her before really seeing her for what she is. Zaliki selects her clothing for practicality rather than fashion- most of her materialistic views were stripped away in the desert wilderness. She tends to favor simple, baggy clothing that can hide all manner of items and her two lower pairs of arms. She is not stick thin, and not overweight- Zaliki has a relatively healthy balance between body fat and muscle.
Location: Zaliki was born in Ahnatep, raised in the desert, and is currently travelling in the Sea of Grass, right at the border between Cyphrus and Eyktol.
Character History :
Born in Ahnatep to a musician and a respected merchant, Zaliki was raised to believe she was descended from Menehat Royalty. She lived in a multigenerational home her entire childhood. At only three years of age, her father’s illicit activities forced her family to leave Ahnatep. He stubbornly refused to allow the family refuge in any of Eyktol’s other cities, and hoped to find a new home in an oasis. Both of her grandparents from her father’s side died in the desert. Trekking through vast dunes of sand, they found a small cluster of crumbling ruins from the ancient city of Menehat, at the bottom of a canyon, three days away from the sea. Soon after, her mother died in childbed, and her family was limited to her Father, older brother, newly born sister, grandmother from her mother’s side, and two slaves. Her cruel older brother and father left the three females to their own doings. When she was fourteen, her grandmother instructed her to take her on the three day journey to the sea so that she could die in peace. When she returned to the ruins, her sister died from snakebite. Zaliki then fled into the desert, where she experienced a whole host of horrors, and how to use the magic of Hypnotism. Eventually, she found her way to Ahnatep and then to the border between Eyktol and Cyphrus, where her story now begins.
Character Concept and Personality :
Zaliki is a usually a reserved, but fierce and passionate Eypharian woman who is very mistrustful due to her tumultuous history. She is extremely loyal once her trust is earned. She has a lot of the prejudice that is typical of her race; however, she particularly has a dislike for the Zith, as her grandfather on her mother’s side was once enslaved in a Zithanese colony. Her grandmother said that she ‘loves too much’- when her grandmother and sister died, she wept for hours. Her time in the desert, though, made her form a steely hard shell; a psychological means of defense. She has a love for the raw, untamed wilderness of Mizahar and tries to find beauty in all its forms. Zaliki is a quick and decisive thinker who can make the best of a tight situation. She never forgets a wrong done to her and can hold a grudge forever. Charm and persuasion are also some of her strong suits. Despite all her charisma, Zaliki has increasing mental and emotional problems born from her time in Eyktol’s wilderness- paranoia, minor hallucinations, and mania are all good examples. However, she still tries her best to maintain a positive (yet reasonable) outlook on life.
