Océane sped through her cleaning, as the shop was already clean anyways as she tended to it every time she came into work. Today though she dusted some of the metal art pieces off, disposing them of the particles that flew in when the door was opened by a customer. She was very careful and soft in her work, not wanting to damage Darcy's masterpieces in any way, as she took a fuzzy cotton cloth to shed the particles from the gleaming metal surface.
Once she was done, it was time to learn some of the basic cuts of gemstones. Darcy and Macy did not mind her using the forge, but would rather have the knowledge before she attempted to do so. Océane knew the basics of the craft, but Macy wanted her to further that knowledge before she worked with metal smithing and gemstones at More then Metal. Océane was slightly pouty about it at first, wanting to dive right in, but she respected their wariness and understood why they did what they did. She did not understand all the things that they did themselves, probably would take years to do so, but enjoyed taking the baby-steps needed to become as competent with Jewel Crafting and Metal Smithing as Darcy and Macy were.
Macy glided through the shop, checking the metal pieces that Océane had just finished cleaning. Making sure they were clean, as well as not moved in any way. The beautiful thing about the shop was how each piece of art work was aligned in such a way, that the whole shop was a masterpiece as well. The sun glinted off different adornments creating a vista of beauty. Once Macy finished with her inspection, she motioned Océane over with her dainty hand to the counter. Océane practically skipped in excitement, making it to the counter that had many pieces of parchment spread out on it's surface, with different cuts of gemstones displayed in a velvet lined box.
Macy cleared her throat, speaking in her bubbly voice, “Today I would like to show you some of the cutting techniques and describe them to you, it will be tedious and I need you to be observant, so you do not mess up too badly when you go to cut the jewels.” Macy chuckled though had a serious look upon her usually soft face. Océane gave a stern nod of acceptance, “I will do my best.” She supplied in a firm tone and she indeed would do her best to absorb in the knowledge that Macy was sharing with her.
