Darya Backrush Appearance Race: Svera - Human Gender: Female Age: 18 years old Birthday: 26, Summer, 497AV. Birthplace: Northern Suvan Sea Appearance: A vibrant youth with striking blue/grey eyes and pouting lips. She stands at 5’7” with a body lean and toned from the strains of sailing and growing up eating nutritious foods that have come from the sea. While her skin is somewhat sun kissed, Her hair is a rust color and is normally styled in a mixture of dreads and beads, while also being held back by a bandanna in an effort to keep the strands from her eyes. Her hands are marred with scars from fishing and sailing, however her most obvious disfigurement is on the back of her left thigh. There is a large chunk of flesh missing in the shape of a young shark’s mouth and the old wound causes her to walk with a limp at all times. As far as her clothing goes, she dislikes wearing much in the summers except for her handmade shell and bead necklaces and pants. If she must wear clothing in the summer, it typically consists of a blouse of some striking color that seems much too big for her, a pair of well worn pants made of light cotton that is tucked into knee high leather boots or rolled up to her knees to expose her bare feet. In colder weather, it is likely that she will wear most of the clothes she owns in layers to stay warm. At the age of eleven, she received her first Tattoo in the form of a Sea Turtle in honor of her beloved tavan, Lemosi on her left forearm. At the age of fifteen, she was deemed old enough to gain her pod Tattoo, which consists of an Anchor and a Dolphin which was placed on her left shoulder. Gnosis Oceaus: 1 Gnosis Mark - 'Marked individuals can first and foremost spot Otani readily. Otani will recognize them and often seek them out to play and communicate. Individuals with one Laviku mark can also drink salt water and have the mark automatically convert it to fresh water for ocean survival. Individuals know the direction of the sea if they are on land and how far away it is (in aprox miles). They also immediately recognize where progression tide is, meaning if it is incoming or outgoing or in transition between.' Darya's Gnosis Mark is a full arm sleeve on her right arm; starting from the top of her shoulder and all the way down to the tips of her fingers. She always wears her Mark with pride and never covers it, even going as far as removing the right sleeves of her shirts so that it can be shown clearly. However, the Gnosis is an every moving and flowing mark that tends to travel over her body. While it does seem to favor her right arm, it is not uncommon to see it on other places of her body. Character Concept Like most Svera, Darya has a very positive and vibrant personality. It is very rare to see her without her characteristic mischievous smirk and her bright hues alight with humor. She is rather carefree and lazy in most matters except when she is sailing or fishing. It is not uncommon to find her lounging on her Casinor day dreaming. Towards other people, she is flirty and playful. She says whatever is on her mind without much consideration and is known to lack a brain-to-mouth filter. She is deeply spiritual and adores Laviku as though he really was her birth father. When she prays, she does as though she was speaking to him with the familiarity of a devoted daughter. Character History Like most other Svefra, Darya grew up in a large pod of her beloved family. She was raised and taught the ways of the sea by the adults of the pod and lived a relatively happy life. Under the careful guidance of her loved ones, she learned how to swim and fish on their ocean home as well as how to properly manage a ship. Despite the occasional hard weather or trouble that faced their pod, they all survived and celebrated their love of Laviku whenever they could. However, Darya’s peace would not last forever. When she was just eight years old, she and her cousins were swimming in the sea despite the Lia telling them not to. As a consequence, they children were attacked by a pair of sharks. One of children was killed in the attack while Darya had been maimed. A large chunk of the back of her thigh had been bitten off and she nearly died from loss of blood and infection. Somehow, she managed to survive and still keep the rest of her leg, though it will always prove to be a problem in her movements. When Darya finally turned eighteen, she went to the Lia and requested to leave the pod. He request was granted and she and her modest Casinor, the ShoreLark, left. To where, she did not know. But she trusted the guidance of the Sea Father until she made it to Syliras... Tavan To be added...
