Gail Appearance Race: Svefra Gender: Female Age: Birthday: Day, Season, Year. Birthplace: Suvan Sea Appearance: Has blue eyes that lean towards gray. She stands at 5’7” with a swimmers build. Her skin is darkened by the sun and somewhat weatherbeaten, Her dark hair is caurse, stiffened from salt water and wind. She is often seen wearing a red bandanna both to protect her head from the un and to make her easily seen from a distance. Her hands have scars from mistakes with her knifes, though she is always carful not to injure her hands to badly as they are important to her trade. For her clothing, she has adopted a mostly Rivarian style. She has a strong preference for skirts and will go barefoot whenever possible, otherwise she will wear heavy boots regardless of the weather. She recieved her pod tattoo at the age of 15 between her shoulderblades. She also has a tattoo for her tavan and another for her brother Oren, which may have involved an admittedly drunken dare. Gnosis: Oceaus: 1 Gnosis Mark - 'Marked individuals can first and foremost spot Otani readily. Otani will recognize them and often seek them out to play and communicate. Individuals with one Laviku mark can also drink salt water and have the mark automatically convert it to fresh water for ocean survival. Individuals know the direction of the sea if they are on land and how far away it is (in aprox miles). They also immediately recognize where progression tide is, meaning if it is incoming or outgoing or in transition between. Gail's Gnosis Mark is nomally seen either somewhere on her legs or shoulders. Character Concept Gail has always been the practical sort. While she is more reserved than her brother, she still has a sense of humour and lust for life that is typical for Svefra. When in new situations she will hold back a little and observe before stepping in. She has a great love for family and is not easily parted from them, particularly her brother Oren, who occasionally can convince her to join him on his travels. She can come across as overly serious at times as a result of her dry sense of humour. Character History Like most other Svefra, Gail grew up in a pod of her beloved family. She was raised alongside her brother and cousins. They were taught the ways of the surviving on the sea such as fishing and sailing. She had a relatively happy life, despite hard weather or trouble that the pod sometimes experienced. She and Oren often enjoyed traveling on a whim outside of the pod, occasionally joined by other family members, though Gail was never comfortable with going to far inland preferring to leave that to the others. As svefra her pod had a great love for Laviku, teaching her to always respect his domain. They also worshiped Leth, particularly the aspect of change believing that it is an integral part of life to be embraced for good or ill. The greatest change was to come in the form of the Djed storm of 512. Their pod was nowhere near land when it struck, forcing them to weather it out as best they could. Never a large pod to begin with, their losses resulted in merely a few survivors. The pod came to rest at Anchorage Flotilla while they recovered.
