However, as he grew up amongst a family who practiced law, his preferred method of winning is using brains, rather than brawn. Standing at a hefty 6 feet 4 inches, and weighing in at roughly 200 pounds, nobody in the family could've blamed him if he made the choice to fight his battles differently, but a strong relationship with his father, an experienced attorney, molded him into the person that he is today. Born on a warm Spring day in the heart of Syliras, Ben was born into a fairly wealthy family, and as an only child, he was spoiled from the day he was born. From a young age, he always took interest in whatever his father had to tell him, especially if it was related to the hard days work he had just come home from. Ben always loved to hear stories from his father about defending the people, and organizations, of Syliras, and especially loved when it was a story of success. As Ben grew up, he tried to heavily involve himself in the community as much as he possibly could, trying to weed his way into several political groups, often being unsuccessful, mostly due to his young age, and subsequent immaturity. However, as the son of an attorney, and as a large fan of the work that his father did, Ben felt he was a little more mature than the other kids at school, which often left him struggling to find friends, feeling that he was 'too old' to hang around with them. This trend would've continued into his teens, if it hadn't been for puberty. At the age of 14, he started growing up. He reached 6 feet and 4 inches by the time he was done, and alongside some body training he had undertaken, looked more like a warrior than an aspiring attorney. By the time he was 18, and just finishing up his schooling, he had his mind set on becoming an attorney. Knowing that he wouldn't get the opportunity to further his studies in Syliras, he set about trying to convince his father to let him travel to Zeltiva, the home of the University of Zeltiva. Although his father knew of the dangers of travel in such a time, he accepted the fact that his son wanted to follow in his footsteps, for not 23 years earlier, he was the one starting a new journey in the humble city of Zeltiva, bright eyed and bushy tailed, ready to start a life in Law. It didn't long for Markus to cave, and in late Winter, in the year 510 AV, Ben arrived at the University of Zeltiva, where a new chapter in his life began. Upon arriving at Zeltiva, he instantly fell in love with the beautiful city. While it was Winter when he arrived, the snow-capped mountains made a beautiful backdrop to the stunning port city, though it did take some time to get accustomed to the freezing cold wind coming off the bay.
