Obviously, and I'm sure you'd do it anyway without prompting from me, if any information doesn't match up with the established lore please let me know and I will adjust accordingly. I've done a fair bit of research on the general sense of things here in Mizahar, but there is a lot to go through and quite a few things I've probably missed.

I'm sure I have a tendency to fall back on "cookiecutter" fantasy, so I might have to be (gently if you please) reminded of how everything works in Mizahar, because it is so original and that's what has kept me so intrigued these last few days as I've gone over the Lore. Thankyou in advance for your patience while I learn the ropes.

Basic Information

Race: Human
Birthday & Age : 3rd day of Fall 486 AV, 24 yrs old.

Physical Description:
Standing at 5' 11" Jacob is not a small specimen of a Human. Deep steely gray eyes reinforce the intelligence behind his fairly chiseled yet lean form. He keeps his head clean shaven, stating that its one less thing to get in the way of more important tasks he needs attend. On the other hand, he is almost always seen with the scruffy stubble of a beard, "Are you mad? I don't have time to shave." is the only response you'll receive upon questioning the contrast between his head and face.

Character Concept
Jacob is best described as someone who would rather judge a past decision by its ultimate outcome instead of based on the quality of the decision at the time it was made, given what was known at that time. The result is many think he is nothing more then an arrogant psychotic madman, with little to no care for the lives of those around him. This has led him to be shunned by all but the most daring of companions, but to Jacob its all about getting results. "If the ends justify the means, then by all means, end it."

Jacob's wish it to become one of the most powerful spell-casters to inhabit Mizahar, but his distaste for 'being lectured' has made what skill he has almost entirely developed of his own accord, which makes for very unstable, yet powerful results. His ultimate goal is not wealth, power over man (although the former he would never deny, the second he couldn't care less having authority over man) but simply power.

Character History

Jacob grew up with a wealthy family, his father was a successful merchant and his mother a magician. He spent most of his childhood in Lhavit, enjoying more comfort then most of your average denizen. As an only child his parents would freely admit to spoiling him more than they should.

His mother began teaching Jacob how to control his Djed through the form of Res at the age of 16. Eager to learn, he soaked up everything his mother would teach him. He was ambitious, often trying to cast spells well out of his league. More than once his mother had to use her skill at Voiding to swallow a patch of fire or engulf a large rock that not so randomly appeared in the midst of their home. His mother warned him of the consequences of Overgiving but he continued to test the boundaries of both his skill and bodies endurance.

Seeing that only time and experience would reason with him, she taught him the fundamentals of Voiding so he could at least clean up some of his own mess. With as much emphasis on controlling ones self while using magic his mother put into their training together, it came as a great and terrible surprise the fateful day Jacob heard of his mothers death due to the side effects of creating and using to much Res. From what little he was told, or could get from the messengers and his father, his mother had been working on a magnificent spell for the last few years. Upon reaching a breakthrough, instead of resting like she should have she continued to press herself. Eventually she reached her limit and solidified herself, basically turning to stone.

Ravaged by grief for the loss of his wife, Jacobs father fell into an pit of despair that consumed the well off family's riches. Wither by the purchase of alcohol or high-stakes gambling, the father of the once proud Sharron family wallowed in his own suffering, bankrupting the father and son.

One day his father announced of a great opportunity of investment made in Alvadas, one that would surely lead to a life of endless wealth. All they had to do was make the journey across the region of Kalea. They joined a merchant caravan that was headed to the great trading city. Alas Jacob's father was not to make the journey, falling ill midway through, they buried him eight days before reaching The Gaping Maw. Upon reaching Alvadas, Jacob attempted to follow through with his fathers plans. Unfortunately he was not the merchantmen his father was, lacking above all else the skill to barter even semi-competently.

So Jacob fell back onto what he knew best, Reimancy. He managed to score a job with a band of mercenaries who specialized at caravan protection. Learning that magic wasn't exactly a common thing amongst the vast populace of Kalea, he quickly found it was better just for others to assume he was simply another sword wielding guard. After a few weeks of practice he managed to be capable of wielding an average sword without looking like a complete buffoon.

As he was going through his personal items one day, he happened across an old, dusty, and cracked leather-bound book, his mother's journal. With nostalgic excitement he began reading, and was suddenly struck with a renewed, deep and sudden sense of loss, the same feeling he had experienced when he first heard the news of his mother's fate. He continued reading untill he had finished the journal.

Amongst other things, including a lengthy portion on the art of Projection, was all his mother notes on this spell she had formed and to which she had fallen prey. Upon the completion his mother journal Jacob had a new goal in life, to become powerful and knowledgeable in the arts of magic to complete the casting. And since he always reached for the top, he new that his mission or his purpose in life as he saw it, was to become one of those powerful wizards to walk the face of Mizahar.

Leaving the group he had worked with for the last 2 years without a second thought, he went to reach his new goals. Taking a merchant ship across the Suvan Sea to Syliras, Jacob found himself wondering not what the future would bring him, but what he would bring the future.
