Persa

[color=#800040]

Race: Mixed Human (Half Benshira, half Eypharian)
Gender: Female.
Age: 18
Birthday: Season of Summer, Day 25, 497 AV.
Birthplace: Ahnatep

Appearance: Persa is a short, delicate figure of petite frame. She has long, black hair that are usually either in braided or ponytail form. Her femininity is best highlighted not only by her smaller jawbone, fuller cheeks and a rounded facial shape in general, but also by her curvy, (although not nessecerily athletic) body and her lightly dark/tanned skin colour, which is also soft and smooth. Her facial expression is usually a lopsided smile, as if she is about to laugh or think of something funny. It often makes other believes that she is an overconfident woman, which is not the case. Her looks also reveals that she might be adventurous, naughty, or curious about her surroundings.

Character Concept

Persa is a mixed breed from an noble Eypharian woman and a common Benshira Man. She was raised by her mother who tried to limit the influence of the father on her, for she hold the belief that the father would ruin the little Persa's mindset with his weak and fancy ideals of honesty and heart purity and the general Benshira norms as depicted in the Benshira culture. Instead, she raised her child based upon the basic Eypharian principles: Personal wealth, beauty, Hedonism, ambitions, cruelty, arrogance. These are all that matters. Reaching the goal no matter the circumstances or the actions that must be taken. Raised as a true Eypharian. Her mother believed that Persa must express her animalistic insticts in a way that it wont betray nor debase her noble status. She believed that if Persa is to become a great and respected noble, just like her mother, she needs to be cruel, tough, traits needed to exercise stern authority, without losing her autocratoric manners. Life is cruel and tough in the deserts of Eyktol, after all, so only people of the relevant mindet will thrive.

Despite having inherited most of her mother's personality and teachings, Persa did not ended up as an inhuman beast. Her father made sure of that. He would manage to find ways to see his daughter, either by bribing the guards of Persa's Mother, or upon arranging for a meeting spot with his daughter. There, the Father would assume the role of a teacher, and teach Persa about the good things in the world, such as honesty, loyalty to good gods, raising a family, and hospitality.

So Persa grew up with a mix mindset of both Benshira and Eypharian cultural mentality, with the latter one being more prevalent.

When Persa reached the age of 16, however, something terrible happened. Something that crushed her easy, wealthy and quiet life she has being living so long. Her Mother lost her social status. She was found guilty of the death of another noble Eypharian, whose murderer admitted that he was bribed by Persa's Mother herself. This noble was a beloved, and very powerful member of the Ahnatep noble community. Then, Persa's mother was stripped of her property, wealth and belongins and was condemned to live the life of a commoner in a disreputable distreet of Ahnatep.

Persa was then forced to do various jobs, thievery being one of them. Two years later though, the guards and the Ahnatep citizens started to suspect the young lady of thievery, so she had to flee the city for a better place, a decision that her Mother approved of too.

She decided that she must find a place that has strong defences, so she can temporary live there and earn some money. More based on rumors than facts, she decided to head to Riverfall, the city of Cyphrus. Cyphrus was the most closest region to Eyktol, after all. Besides, anywhere would be better than the life she was stuck with in Ahnatep.

Character History

Once there was an Eypharian woman. Her beauty and her strong chain of human trafficking (slavery) was enough to make her a very respected noble in Ahnatep, just like her parents. In the age of 22, living a luxurious life she met a commoner from Yahebah. Despite his low social status, being a carpenter, love striked the woman's heart. She put aside her xenophobia, and married the carpenter.

Out of their love, Persa was born. Their marriage collapsed 2 years later, though, when the love that had swayed the mind of the Eypharian Woman faded away, and she decided to end the marriage status with this man. Not having a place to live, this man returned back to Yahebah. The reasons of this divorce is because those two were two different people, representing two different worlds, binded only by indisputable, mighty power of love.

He was honest, he cherished everything that has to do purity, he held a set of moral rules that wanted to impose on Persa's education, such as being a good helpful person, kind, unselfish, goodwill and sensitive.

She on the other hand, was a superficial, opportunistic, selfish, greedy and dishonest woman, seeking fame, glory and wealth.

He believed in Yahal and was heavily devoted to him, while she believed in any god that would temporarily help her achieve her goals.

Thus, Persa had been raised in Ahnatep with her Mother, in a house that the commoners usually refered to as "Palace". Being the daughter of a noble woman wasnt the easiest thing though, for she had to learn the pretentious ways and queenly manners and the complex royal behavioral system of how to stand properly in front of another noble, how to talk to him, how to walk, strictly follow the traditions and the customs, how to pretend to be happy when you are not, how to pretend to be always satisfied and graced by the presence of even the most ignorant and hated noble, how to hold back and conceal the feelings and emotions, how to properly dress up, and watch over even the smallest detail of makeup, perfume and hairstyle. Persa was also forced to bring out her cruel and unforgiving personality a lot of times, since as a part of her education, she was forced to punish her followers and servants when they did something that they shouldnt.

"You will either hold love, or hold power in your life. You can not hold both" was been told by her mother, where "love" is the good emotions for the others and "power" is the ability to rule and have wealth.

"You can not dictate the appropriate rules if you love. If you do dictate them, then you do not love"

The cold and realistic view of life was actually simple, by her Mother: The world is harsh, and the people are harsh too. You can either control them through strict and severe rules, or you can love them and being attached to them, losing your ability to rule in the process.

Her personality is the archetype that loosely defined Persa's character and traits.

Persa never need to work hard in her life. She had everything she wanted. Food, the best clothing, jewellery, cosmetics, entertainment, and 1 slave looking after her. Her Mother had reached the social status of a gilded, that means she was a loyal follower of the Pressorah (leader) Bashti doing her favors and attending her court.

Persa was enrolled in various activities in the city, after her mother's initiate, such as dancing lessons, art lessons, riding, and she enjoyed the employment of personal teachers, some basic semhu lessons and a very good educational center. Although she never really excell in any of the above activities except dancing.
Because of her xenophobic nature, her mother never allowed her to study foreign languages except the local Arumenic.

What she really was good at is dancing and persuading. The reasons are obvious. The usual social gatherings and feasts organized in her house, where the wine and the food was abundant required a lot of entertainers to perform in front of the guests. One of those entertainers was often Persa herself. It wasnt a shame for the house owner to display the abilities of their own sons or daughters to the common, in fact if the act was performed well, and satisfy the guests, it would honor the owner and organizer of the feast. Thus, Persa would frequently dance in front of the noble guests from as much young as 13 years old.

It was a common practice for her mother to invite a guest over her house and offer him a feast or accompany him in festivals or panegyrics, with the intention to earn his/her favor or even strike a deal or an economic partnership over something. In such ocassion, Persa had the mission to mingle with the guest, serve him and tending to his need, not as a servant though, but as an act of good will and friendship on behalf of her mother. A little bit of alcholol, her smile, some sweet talk and her overally intoxicating feminine presence, inherited by her Eypharian Mother, enchanced by the overlap of the vivid face paintings, perfume and the flashy, shiny jewellery would mostly do the trick, that is, she would mesmerize him and earn the favour or the deal of the noble. Of course, the mother never allowed Persa and the customer to go any futher than that. Instead, she would rely on her slaves for the most intimate monents.

One day though, for reasons still unknown to Persa, her mother decided to assasinate a nobleman. Rumor has it that she did it because of a deal gone wrong. Others says that it was some sort of revenge as those two had an affair. It ended up bad, as Persa and her mother lost all of their properties and most of their belongins after a trial.

Her life change dramatically. From a life of luxury and ignorance she was now impoverished and starved.

Persa, just like her mother, did many jobs in order to survive and earn a decent income. One of them was a thief. The easy (although risky) way. Although she always carried a dagger, she didnt do it the regular way though. She would mostly seduce somebody to a corner and carefully drive her fingers down to his pocket, stealing his money and finding an excuse to leave. She rarely broke in houses. Two years later, she came to the conclusion that this is not worth living and after thorough discussion with her mother took the decision to leave the city. Besides, the guards already started to look upon her with suscpicious and mistrust.

Personality, ethics and Religion

Persa is, above all, an opportunist. She values the gold and the silvers (money) more than anything else. Just like her mother, she is xenophobic and racist. She believes that she is superior to other tribes and cultures, and that the desert of Eyktol, and specifically the lands of the Eypharians is the true bastion of civilisation and how the world is meant to be. She tends to avoids battle, in fact she hates confrontation and conflict of any nature, especially if the odds are not on her side. She loves to manipulate others as a mean of earning either money, trust or the favor of the person she manipulates. Generally, she doesnt really have any set of morals that hold her back. She prefer to keep a low profile than drawing the attention. She is jealous of wealthy and succesful people.

Despite all of the above, her minimum interaction with her father has had a long lasting influence over her. That means that she has inherited the hospitality and friendship of her father. Some times her father's words appears out of nowhere and makes her doubt for her choices, although she quickly discard them.

Having lived most of her life in luxury, spoiled as she was, she is emotionally sensitive and easily susceptible to criticism by others. That also means that others might be able to change her, for better or worse. She is also somehow naive, which means that she easily believe things. Over more, when things doesnt go her way, she tends to pretend to be submissive and cooperative until she gains the upper hand.

Since she had slaves and servants in her past, she always values and appreciates a loyal friend and someone who helps her and support her.

As about religion, Persa's beliefs range from total atheism to every single silly deity that exists out there. She only believes in the gods that will help her achieve her goal and only as she sees fit.
