Winter 16 of 515 AV

Namorin had spent many hours over the years in the Tuvya Sasaran practicing. In that way Namorin was a true son of the Akalaks. He believed there was something to be discovered in strengthening the body and bringing it under total control. He spent less time practicing then he had before due to the fact he was working most days at the jewelers. Having the day off he had found himself up just as early as any other day but this day instead of just staying in his house he came to the Tuvya Sasaran to find others to sparr with so that he coukd actually work on skills.

Namorin paused at the entry area to take off his shoes. He personally prefered the sandels that he would done as soon as the weather was decent, actually if he could he would just walk around barefooted, but he had learned the danger of that one day shortly after he had started his apprentice ship. It had taken hours to remove the shaving sliver from his foot. Here though barefootedness was the rull and the floors were kept clean accordingly.

Namorin walked down the hall looking for an empty room, or one with someone waiting for a sparing partner. His well shaped lips formed into a contented smile as he felt the freedom his feet longed for. There was something about the skin or your feet making contact with the real world and not some confined space. 'If you stopped waisting time thinking about your feet and maybe thought about getting a girl maybe we could get some where.' Charlain comment. Which Namorin shook his head choosing not to take the bait. This would be a time for focus not trqding petty insults.

They found a room that was empty and stepped inside. Walking over to the corner he stripped off his cloak and cotton shirt and neatly folded them and placed them in a neat pile. He walked to the middle of the floor and began to stretch. He knew that starting and physical activity like this shouldn't be done with cold muscles. He worked on first on stetching his legs and groin muscles. He breathed deeply as he held each stretch feeling the gentle pressure in his muscles. He moved farther up his body, stretching his hips and then his arms and shoulders. Both souls focused on the stretches breathing deeply.

Once he had finished the stretches he still hadn't seen anyone walk in some he moved on to doing some push ups. He always enjoyed push ups. He didn't push them not wanting to weeken himself for when someone did show up. As he stood up from the push ups he began to go through basic movements of unarmed combat.

    Tuvya Sasaran

Long strides lead her down the hallway, stopping in front of each room and looking inside. Each one so far had consisted of two giant men with dark skin, often grappling with each other. She would pause momentarily to watch the fights, crossing her arms and leaning against the door frame. She wanted to see the style of the men, how this race fought. Were they aggressive, or did they play defense? Were they calculating or rash?

Kiva had yet to truly understand the all male race, as she had been avoiding them for most of her stay. But that would need to change if she was ever going to learn how to beat them. What were their weaknesses?

'Besides having to beg women to continue their line, of course.' Kiva smirked at her snarky thought, attention drawn to a particular pair of men wrestling on the ground. They were strong, that was for certain. The young Myrian had not met men as tall or as large in Taloba, so unlike in her home lands, she would have the disadvantage. She would have a shorter reach for throwing punches, and would have to get closer to attack, meaning putting herself in danger. Because if she could reach, they could. And her slighter frame meant for a much higher chance of being thrown. It was a strange thought. 'I will have to be quick.'

    "Hello."

As Kiva was contemplating possible strategies for battle, she quirked an eyebrow realizing she had been noticed, and uncrossed her arms. Both men had stopped mid hold and were now looking at her.

Kiva smirked back, "Don't stop because of me." She waved a hand, and straightened up, continuing down the hall. She watched a few more spars, but stayed considerably less time. It was when she noticed someone without a partner did she show interest in another room. Typical Akalak training. The man inside was rising from the ground and practicing some movements.

    "Still looking for a partner?"

Kiva moved like a cat into the room, making a show of looking around the room. The dark haired female threw her pack against the wall and turned to face the male, "I challenge you." she decided, beginning to unbutton her wool coat. She smiled sweetly, as if she were something other than what she was. If he accepted, she planned on fighting ruthlessly. It had been too long since she had a good fight.

    'Tell me, Deyhan,'
she thought with amusement, 'Have you ever faced a Myrian woman?'

Namorin hadn't expected a woman to be the one to march in and challenge him. He paused in the middle of his move as she charged in. His golden eyes looked at her in surprise. Her attitude had surprised both souls for completely different reasons. Akalaks were agressive but their agression was controlled by rules and social structure. This womans agression was out their in the open for all to see, and clearly not controlled by rules. Charlain was surprised because it was a woman. They had both been raised by their mother but Charlain only saw the gentle side and tended to forget that their mother had her own fighting style and that she was now teaching it to their sister.

Namorin recovered from his surprise as the woman tossed her jacket to the side of the room and begain taking off her coat. Namorin expression became serious. Frankly he was only sure to expect agression. He looked at her and nodded his head. Charlain took in her beauty and decisded one on one fighting might be fun. Namorin was looking into her eyes seeing a drive.

"I do need a partner so I accept yor challenge."

Namorin wasn't sure how she fought, but knew he had the reach advantage which could or could not change the way the fight went. If she was fast enought that could easily offset his reach. The long a limb the longer it took to move it. He also supected he had more natural atrength, but she could easily be as tuff as any nut.

Namorin dropped into his starting stance ready. His golden eyes watched her intensely. He wasn't seeing a woman put an opponent. Namorin was still an Akalak so he waited until she was in position. Again he was sure what protical she employeed before a fight if any. So it was he was ready for either the starting bow and greeting or to start the fight.

    He accepted her offer.

A slow smile crept up to reveal bright teeth. Her long fingers worked adeptly at undoing her woolen coat and she slide it off tan shoulders, revealing an exposed mid-drift. Kiva was relaxed, at ease, and she looked over at the Akalak and his new stance. "I have not fought bare handed in a long time," she confessed, although her voice did not ask for pity. She was an opponent, and she expected him to respect that. This fight was being done for many reasons - the main ones being for practice, as well as research.

The Akalak was watching her intently. 'Good,' she thought, 'Perhaps he can look past a pair of breasts,' she mused, 'The Akalak's view of women will be their downfall. Maybe this one is a bit smarter?'

Kiva bent over to undo her boots and tossed them with the rest of her things, and stretched languidly. When she went to stand across from Naomin, she decided to try and get to know her new sparing partner, "I am Kiva of The Crimson Sun. What are you called?"

She waited for his response, and nodded. His race was still filled with warriors, like her own. That was commendable to some degree, but he was still a male. It was time to find out what he was capable of. Kiva noted his feet and their positioning before taking on her own stance. She gave a taunting wink, and like a viper, shot out ruthlessly, throwing a punch towards his face. Her eyes were focused and she balanced on the balls of her feet, ready to react. Her body craved the pain, the struggle, the thrill of a good fight.

This was going to be fun.

Namorin watched As his opponent finished getting ready. Namorin's golden colored eyes watched her. His gaze was intense even if she couldn't tell what it was that he was thinking. Two thoughts were running throught his mind. Charlain noticed her form and thougt how appealing her form was, and admire the fitness of it, and desided some unarmed contact was just what the day called for. Namorin wanted to roll his eyes at Charlain, but he kept his gaze steady. 'Pay attention. You claim to be intelligent but are missing the obvious signs. This woman has a fighters trim. She isn't just skinny she is toned. Also she walks with the grace of a fighter.'

'Can't I just enjoy te view.' Charlain snapped back.

'No, especially if you get dustracted while she is beeting out butt.'

Charlain was brougt up short by that statement. Charlain hadn't ever even considered they could lose, but he now realized that Namorin was viewing her as a serious opponent. Charlain was focused as Namorin replied to her introduction. "Namorin and Charlain of the Xalvratos family." He said with a bow of his head before returning his position.

He smiled as he saw her take stance. Her stance confirmed that she knew how to fight, and her wink confirmed her confidence. Then she was moving. She struck out towards his face. He dodged as the fist came towards him be stepping to the side. He instantly kicked out towards her mid section. He was agressive with his kick but not so much that he couldn't contol his limbs or pull them back to prevent openings.

Namorin grinned as his eyes gleamed. This would be fun. Even Charlain seemed pleased. They were Akalak after all.

He seemed distracted, and the weird introduction struck her as odd. Two names? Why? Kiva watched him carefully, and after her attack was dodged, she instantly went on the offensive. A leg shot out towards her mid section and she tightened her stomach, throwing down an arm to try and deflect the blow. She was slower than she would have liked, unable to get out of the long reach of his legs and so the impact was strong. The blow collided with her arm mostly, enough that it stopped her from having the breath knocked from her. Pain radiated down her forearm, but she kept her face unreadable.

'Deep breaths,' she told herself, 'You're fine.'

The more blows she could take and not show weakness, the more intimidating she would be. That was the goal, anyway. The Myrian kept light on her toes, pulling back and assessing the situation. Sheer strength wasn't going to be the way to win this fight. An image of Myri flashed in her head. She would have to be ruthless. She would have to endure.

Continuing to move, Kiva decided to make another play. He was watching her, but what if was being too careful? The dark haired woman threw herself back in the fray, launching another hard swing, this time towards his hip.

'Under the ribs. C'mon, deyhan. Block it.'

The punch was a fake. It stopped just shy of his skin, and she used her right fist to take another shot at his face, hoping the opening was enough to make for brutal contact.

Namorin felt his kick connect with the aggressive woman's arm. She was quick and most certianly knew something about fighting. He brought his leg back under him and balanced his weight as she jumped back out of the way. He had a much better reach but she was smaller size would alow her to move quicker.

She stayed back for only a moment as if trying to determine. Namorin looked at the women seeing a fierce determination on her face. Her expression was of someone who tok the fight seriously. Namorin's expression was still pleased as he watched her for a moment. But it was only a moment before she launched herself at Namorin again her fist coming towards his hips. Namorin did dodge but his effort to dodged consisted of jumping back. Kiva's upper cut did, manage to clip causing Namorins jaw to snap shut, and causing a stinging pain on his chin.

Namorin's eyes flashed with pain, and excitment. He pushed passed the pain and brought his fist up swinging towards her check. Figuring she would dosge the attack he would bring back down his swing towards her should in and effort to hit that critical part.

Namorin knew she was a women but was going to respect her as a figter.

Life's a storm. Ride it.
