Spring 13, 516 AV
Alvadas was a truly strange city. The squire turned bartender turned fortune teller had just been on his way home, but instead of ending up in front of the Cubacious Inn, he had ended up in front of … whatever that strange purple building was supposed to be. He stood in front of it for a moment, scratched his head and wondered if the inn had merely changed colour and shape (in a city like Alvadas nothing was impossible), and then he decided to take a closer look. He pressed his face against one of the elaborately decorated windows – and recoiled. Instead of furniture and people he saw creepy and deformed figures.
He blinked. Had he been imagining things? He tried again. The same frightening faces stared back at him. Now he was prepared for it though and didn’t recoil. Instead he studied the figures behind the window a little more closely. They were truly terrifying! Were they real or only illusions? He decided to investigate. His bed at the Cubacious Inn could wait a little longer. He suddenly wasn’t that tired anymore. He opened the door.
For the second time in as many chimes he was utterly surprised. Instead of in some kind of haunted house he found himself in a suspiciously normal building. The smell of incense reached his nose. There were plush cushions and velvet curtains, and in the back he could see a large bath. Apparently he was in a bath house. So why had he seen monsters when he had looked through the window? What in the name of Kelwyn was going on here?
„What is going on here?“ the young man wanted to know. That day the self proclaimed chosen of Kelwyn looked comparatively normal for a change, apart from the mark of his gods on his arm and his hair that he had currently dyed blue to match his eyes. He was nicely dressed, his clothes all matched, and he was even wearing shoes. In short, he looked almost as if he were just another customer that wanted to take a bath and maybe get a relaxing massage. „Where have all the monsters gone?“
