Around 8th Bell in the morning
Payle jogged his way aimlessly up to the second tier of the city. Jog wasn’t the right word though, he considered ‘hike’ was more appropriate way to describe the sort of what he did this morning. It seemed that citizen of Riverfall could not go anywhere within the boundary of the city without hike their way up or down. That was of course, under the exception of the winged creature like pigeon and other avian animal that has no worries about the steep cliff. He also had this peculiar assumption regarding the number of stairs and the growth rate of Akalak’s muscle. Every Akalak he saw had unique color. Sea water blue, deep water blue, blood red, violet and they shared the same heavy built muscular body. Their tall stature coupled with broad shoulder successfully render him diminutive.
He did not sure why Baradd managed to assure him to got here. The city was magical, certainly unlike Zeltiva. And the Akalak was a sight to behold when he got off the ship yesterday. He wouldn’t be surprised to found out if the Akalak hide some kind of arcane prowess behind their murky and grumpy appearing. Perhaps something related to muscle growth acceleration. He chuckled on his own thought, igniting curiosity on passerby. But he could not find any real practice of magic on the street. Now that was too much but it was the truth. Hish sigh whispered through the air, crashed to the stony pavement and wane. Perhaps he only need to know the city more. Riverfall was like an unknown creature for him now. A magnificent one. He need a time to study it thoroughly, it’s structure, culture, the building and people to find anything useful to his goal.
“Sounds like a plan.” he murmured to the stony wall next to him, sweeping his hand in a fashion of people shaking hand together.
On more serious note, he also needed a plan for how would he spend his day living in Riverfall. He remembered his friend on the Labor Aid had warn him about financial problem which would be the most dreary problem as a newcomer. He didn’t lie. Payle spent nearly all of his coins purchasing the apartment. The thought on surviving gave him a similar feeling like someone pouring cold water in his back. He must think about it sooner if he wanted to secure his life till summer. “Don’t be so hard on me... please?” He found himself whispering to the stony wall once again, another scene that immediately made passerby turned their head and trod away.
