It was fairly chilly. Cool crisp winds cloak the gray morning sky. A mixture of gray and white clouds fill the sky over head of the Tent City. The Firestone pavilion, was merely quiet, save for the whinnied of Strider's. Broctons tent was occupied by four; himself, his mother, De'anu, his father, Thorin, and his sister, Philly. Oh, one can't simply forget his dog companion either; Terrance. Terrance, oh Terrance Brocton loved Terrance. He wouldn't give the dog up for anything. Even if it meant being immortal. He would push that aside to be with his companion.

Jinx was outside. Brocton only had her staying with the pavillion ever since half of the spring last season. Brocton had a feeling that she's been enjoying this location much more than at the Guided Horse. Though, Firestone couldn't figure out why she hadn't suited there well. Perhaps she didn't fancy other horses, was that the problem?

The almost Drykas was awake. It was a little later in the morning. More likely the eight bell or so. The blonde sat upright, his legs pointing towards the flap of the tent and he was staring right at it now. Broc speculated the tent around. The lack of motion weirded him out almost. It was a little creepy, nonetheless, it was soothing in a way. A way which Brocton couldn't feel any more... Prideful of where he was. He was always glad to have his parents and family with him. It's what made him feel like a full Drykas. Even without the bind between him and Jinx, he still felt like he was part of the Emerald Clan, a part of the Tent City. It was... His home.

Brocton carefully stood up, carefully because he didn't want to wake the rest of the occupants within his tent. It would've been utterly disappointing to see his mother tired and cranky. It's not pleasent to see her cranky at times. So, it's best to leave her sleep. Once Brocton got up finally, he made his way out of the tent to gather up his things. His hunting gear, a shortbow and quiver full of arrows, his longsword, and his pack. He wouldn't be anywhere without any of them.

The blonde made his way then over to Jinrs' tent. His cousin. It was only a matter of time before the two would set out to hunt. Cool winds knipped at Broc's long locks of hair. The blonde opened Jinirs' tent as he reached it. Brocton opened the flap to his cousins tent.

"Oi, sight to say something before eyou walk in eh?" Jinr' exclaimed sourly. Jinr' sat up and rubbed sleep in his eyes. "Blimey, when is it?" Chimed Jinr'.

"It's only the eighth bell or so. Come on. We'll miss the birds." Ushered Brocton. "Come come, get dressed." He chimed. Hunting. Now Signed Brocton. He almost felt like a little kid, but Jinr' gathered his things and the two mounted Strider's and headed out.

"It's a good thing you didn't forget to bring your bow." Jinr' stated lightly. The sky above them circulated about. Slowly, like a sloth climbing up a tree.

Jinr', he was within his early twenties roughly. Perhaps his thirties, Brocton can't really remember particularly at this time. He had many things occupying his thoughts. He was thinking about Jinx. It was one of the many things he has on his mind at most times. Well, other times he usually thinks about many different things. Though, those other things are usually women, hunting, and hobbies. Or how he starts to judge others. If Brocton didn't enjoy the company of others, he'll be quite critical to them. Though, he isn't like that at first. Not really, he just has a different set of gears.

"Yes. I'm glad that I've remembered. It's funny." He chimed looking up at the sky.

"What is Broc?" Asked his cousin curiously. Brocton gazed back at his cousin. Jinx snorted disgustingly.

"I don't forget my things." Smirked Brocton a little rudely.

"Oi, I didn't mean it like that Brocton. No no of course not." Protested Jinr'. Brocton looked at his cousin quizzically.

"You sure..." He paused. The blonde scanned his cousin up and down as the Strider's moved their pace. The sound of grass crouching beneath hooves erupted with every step taken. Jinx was careful to where she stepped but she was a bit more agile than Jinirs' bond, Garnet.

"Yes I'm sure as a science man answering a really logical question." Replied Jinr'. Broc watches him with hesitation. Then the blonde sighed and nodded.

"Okay thank you. Though, please be careful what you say. After all, we're still family and I don't want one thing to ruin our relationship between us or anyone else. Got it." Explained Broc.

"Yes, good." Jinr' agreed. He then looked up to the sky as well as Brocton did. "I've seen them just a few days prior. They've shouldn't have relocated already." Continued Jinr'.

"Have you checked by the river? Perhaps we can go there?" Asks Brocton to his cousin wearily.

Brocton paused. He was unsure of the location, the location of the birds. But, he wasn't a very good tracker either. So that decision was off the table. So, the only choice the two could follow was to listen and pay very particulate close attention. Close enough to even hear a simple bumblebee buzz through the air around them.

"Just keep a keen eye out Jinr'. "

"There they are." Whispered the cousin. Brocton looked over to where Jinr' had pointed. The hunter was cautious, it's always good to be weary of what's around you; in this case, a large flock of birds loathing around within the tall blades of grass. They're a little challenging to pick out what kind of birds they are. Because, of the tall blades. The wings were dark and a mix of brown and black. Brocton wiggled in the Yvas, with a little uneasiness to it.

"Yes good work cousin." Brocton smiled. He signs, Careful. Danger. Jinr' nodded and agreed. "Let's stick to signing. We'll most likely be able sneak up on them. At least a few more yards for your decent shot. If I'm not mistaken, there's a clearing up ahead. Just fifteen yards out or more. Once we get past the tall grass, we'll manage." Explained his cousin. Jinr' had his time as a hunter for as long as Brocton knew him. It's been a long time, long story short. But, Jinr' wasn't the reason why he wanted to become a hunter. It was the pride of being one of the Emerald Clan that intrigued him and even persuaded him to join the responsibility.

Hunting made Brocton feel free. Free like the bird he was just about to snatch for game. Like this bird who's about to be, dead, well was that a bad example? Brocton was free like a wild lion to put it that way. The blonde watchrd the birds carefully, though for a ticks moment, Firestone looked around and observed what was around the birds. The tall blades seemed to drop a little, but maybe that was just because of the wind, it was pretty windy out. A little chilly as well, good thing he brought his cloak too. Brocton peered closer... looking for a good reason to not get closer to the birds loathing around.

So far... nothing. Nothing peculiar as of yet and it's been what, a few ticks. Maybe they should wait a little longer. Brocton was growing slightly impatient, and particularly, annoyed. He looks over to his cousin and signs, Just wait. Patience, it was odd coming from Brocton, but he figured that Jinr' was getting just as impatient as Brocton, himself was getting. It was only fair. Most likely, right? Why would Brocton have to wait when Jinr' wouldn't have to. If either one of them were to engage, the birds would have just simply fled, no doubt.

Jinr' nodded and signed, Agree. Patience. He let loose a smile. Jinr' was curious just ad much as Broc was too. Things didn't appear right somehow. It just didn't, not the way he had imagined it would be. Then, there was a familiar vibration beneath the group. Brocton peered closer to the flock of birds, they started to take flight. "Now, take out your bow." Croaked Jinr' wearily, he was doing g ehst he'd asked of Brocton. "Hurry before the birds flee. The Elk would be coming and we need to get out of here." Jinr' was right, about miles back to the west, a heard of elk approach. It looked vicious, and fierce. Loud pounding could be heard, but from where the four were, it was just only vibration. "Aim and shoot. One is good for now. We must track down those Elk."

Brocton fumbled for an arrow. His quiver was strapped to one side of the Yvas. After almost a chime, he managed to get the arrow readied. He aims, the bird in sight was only just fifteen yards out. Fifteen. It would only be just a coincidence if he managed to hit it. He fires. The arrow just whistles through the grass bending side to side, almost flexing. The bird screeched and falls just as it took flight and landed with a audible thump against the ground. "Good shot. Let's get the bird. We have some Elk to chase down."

All of a sudden, it was calm.

Calm.

Now, a heard of Elk come thumping through the stillness of the Grasslands. Brocton was edgy, he didn't know why, but he had a feeling that, whatever he had didn't seem right. Not at all, and Brocton hadn't had one clue what to do or how to resolve this situation. If it even appeared to be as such as one would call, a situation. Was this even dangerous, well it is. Though, how bad could this idea be, chasing after a herd of elk. What could go wrong? Well, many things actually. Death, fatal injuries, near death experience. What else...

"Jinr', you've gone mad. By lord, why would we pursue a herd of elk?" Complained Brocton.

"Those at the Spit Fire will pay nice coin for elk cousin." Explains Jinr'. "Strap that bird and lets get going. Hurry now, before we lose them. They've just passed us." Brocton ties the bird firmly to the side of the Yvas. Jinx whinnied and twitched her ears fiercely.

"Yes Jinx I know you don't like the scent of a dead animal. Who does?" He asks his soon to be bond. Well, presumably bonding companion.

Brocton didn't mind to much that he hadn't bonded with the Strider yet, but he felt empty almost. Like his heart wasn't full, and he needed this bond to complete it. It was one of his goals. One of his lifetime goals to get bonded with a Strider. Brocton thinks that he has found the right one, though he's unsure if Jinx was the right Strider to bond with. After all, Jinx can put up with him while most others can't and the blonde is proud of that. Brocton promised his mother that he'll work better on his attitude and his manners.

His mother had once said to, "treat others the way you've always wanted to be treated," it was one of the many saying she expressed. She always wanted Brocton to turn out just right, though, she knew highly that that would be nearly impossible. Though, perhaps it could've happened, but nonetheless, the plan for Brocton to turn out better than averaged flawed and Broc turned out the way he is now.

"Okay I'm coming!" Brocton barked. It wasn't sour by any means, but it did leave a taste of bitterness through his response. But, it was a sign that he was getting annoyed with his cousin. Jinr', well, he can tend to be a little stubborn, sometimes just as stubborn as a bull. Really. Jinr' likes to act like he's all that, selfish. That's not how Brocton is, though he can be nonetheless, he can control it... Jinr', it's proposed as a challenge.

The two head after the Elk and managed to sustain pace with them. The vibration of the hooves from each animal rumbled through the Sea of Grass. "Get it," cried Jinr'. Brocton nodded and reached for his shortbow. Brocton balanced himself as best he could, but the ride was faster than fast for him. He nearly fell over attempting to grab an arrow. After a few tries, he succeeded and pulled one out, leaving a few behind, getting trampled on as they've disappeared.

Brocton aims for the closest part of the Elk. The side. He pulled back tightly on the arrow and released. It strikes the animal, but no effect. Brocton reaches over for another arrow, he almost topples over, but he regained his balance. His first attempt at grabbing another arrow didn't go so well either as it fell, in result, it was trampled by the Elk behind him. Brocton cursed under his breath and reaches for another arrow, this time getting a hold of it.

Brocton readies the arrow and aims. After a breath, he shoots. The arrow zoomed, and it struck the head of the Elk, Brocton was close enough to just pet it. The beast fell over and trampled, the other elk just hurdled over it and scrambled away before any of them could get taken out. Brocton gripped his heels tightly to Jinx's sides and she skidded to a stop, along with Jinr' and his horse, Fin.

"Good job cousin." Compliments Jinr'.

"Thanks, how do we get it back to Endrykas?" Asks Brocton.

"Easy, we skin it."

"I'm all full of fire."
