Ymistrey Valoran Appearance Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 29 Birthday: 5th Day of Summer, 487AV Birthplace: Zeltiva Appearance: Ymistrey Valoran, the man himself. At first glance, anyone can see that he is tall, over six feet, but fairly thin and wiry, very little body mass for his height. His hazel-brown hair hanging long, down to his shoulders and below, and his deep oaky eyes to complement. However, his face is otherwise not noticeable or memorable, becoming very plain when talking of anything below his nose, which itself is average in both length and protrusion. His skin is slightly tanned, though it is still light compared to most other lowborns. He wears a moustache with dignity, along with a very short beard which he trims regularly enough to not resemble a savage's. He walks with purpose, seemingly making each step towards some great ambition of his. Character Concept Ymistrey Valoran is a power-hungry individual, ruthless and cynical - a winning combination. He is a scholar who leads a self-serving life, preferably with the least effort and the most reward, wherever that would lead him. He possesses wit, and certainly cannot be described as naïve or unintelligent, but he is a terrible liar. Thus, he is often considered truthful and honest, though honesty should not be mistaken for trustworthiness. At the end of the day, he is selfish almost to a fault, only going out of his way to help himself and never committing to any relationships past their usefulness. Character History Ymistrey was born to a peasant household in Zeltiva. He had no last name, no title, no lands to call his own, and his family lived entirely in a small apartment in the city. When he was old enough to walk, he walked out of his house and made his way to the University. There, he largely self-taught himself to read, only asking assistance from local students and scholars when needed. Thus, he was already better educated than his parents at a young age, and largely through selling wares which his father had made, he managed to gain entry to the University. There, he studied and learnt all he could, absorbing the knowledge of books and tales of far off lands. But more importantly, he developed a love of politics. With somewhat of a pompous self importance, he decided that he needed a surname, giving himself the name Valoran, after the adventurer in a book he had read, and crafted for himself his own seal, fancying himself as a bit of a noble. By the time he left the University, after studying mainly History and Politics, he had developed some amount of respect from people around the city, respect which he believes he has a right to.
