Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Daevion woke early, as usual, to the tweeting of the morning birds. He took a moment to fully get control of his systems. Trying to do anything while still drowsy was just asking for trouble. He'd learned that the hard way, multiple times. Whether accidentally cutting himself on some sharp object, falling and or tripping on something and getting a bruise; he'd gone through all sorts of drowsy-escapades, and got hurt in some way or another. Or perhaps he was just a pain-magnet?

Shrugging the thought from his mind, Daevion got up after a minute or two, using his right hand to swipe his dread-locks from in front of his face. His pale gold eyes squinted around his room as light slowly filled in from the windows. He could hear the waterfall from here, where his home city got its name from. The sound of it rejuvenated him, pumping energy through his veins; it was like a fountain of youth for him, one which he never had to drink nor swim in. He felt a rather queer but not unwelcome swell of pride as he thought about the natural beauty of his city.

Mind's a-wandering this morning, is it not, brother? Dravon lightly teased, having been able to 'hear' everything Daevion thought. A mental scoff emanated from Dae; What, a man can't think about his wonderful city as he wakes? Dravon chuckled at that (mentally, of course), and Daevion stood up, allowing the blankets to fall from his nude form. He could already tell today was not going to be a day of recovery.

-- A bell later

Opening the door to his favorite food place, Kulkukan Tavern, he was engaged in a fierce mental debate on the efficiency of his morning work-out routine with Dravon, who thought he should switch up from time to time.

Feel free to change it up by taking over in the mornings, Dravon. This was an automatic win for Daevion; he knew how much Dravon hated dealing with people, and because of that, he didn't quite like controlling the body for the two of them at any point unless they were in a private place full of books. Dravon continued to mumble as Daevion looked around.

That's when his eyes fell on her; he didn't know it yet, but her name was Yohana. He'd never seen her around before, and he was sure of this because he'd have remembered. She was quite attractive, beautiful, even; an exotic specimen in the land of colored giants. The green Akalak somehow found himself lost in her appearance, pondering if she was even human. In any case, he found himself looking far too long, and only turned when Dravon pointed this out to him.

He pushed her from his mind; a woman like that was probably a Nakivak, a breeder, to one of the other men in here. And quite frankly, it wouldn't do for Daevion to be caught staring at someone else's woman. His brethren (including him, if he really thought about it) became quite overprotective over their Nakivaks, and he'd already heard of many a brawl over one man figuring he could pull a fast one.

He walked over to an empty table, once more having to push his dreadlockes from his face as he sat down; he really needed to get something to keep it back. He waited for the waitress, already getting a few gold mizas from his pocket to order breakfast.

The Breakfast Club [Yohana]

Yohana was up bright and early in the morning. The warm Summer breeze felt wonderful as it went through her hair and the bright sun soaked into her olive skin. The Kulkukan Tavern wasn't somewhere Yohana came often which was rather odd because saying she "loved" to eat would be an understatement.

The sounds of sizzling meets and food filled her nostrils. This lead to her practically drooling over the thought of eating, her taste buds salivating and aching for food. Yohana was great at making small talk. She was dressed in black trousers that had been cut down to a short length and a camisole, her usual attire on such a hot day. Some choose to dress with high fashion designs and flashy outfits. The woman to her right was a perfect example. She wore a long dress that flowed with ease and expensive jewels that decorated the low neckline of her dress.

"Why would she be dressed like that at this time?" She tilted her head and raised her right brow as she was a little confused with her wardrobe choices."Maybe she hasn't returned home from last night or she always dresses like that. I should compliment her either way." With these thoughts in her mind and a prepared comment on her tongue.

She could hear the doors being open, someone else had entered the tavern but she paid no attention to them, yet. With a gentle finger she tapped on her shoulder and the woman turned to her. Beneath her blue eyes were stains of some sort of paint that appeared to be damp makeup, something she never had the privilege of using. The woman looked ill and tired.

Without hesitation she parted her plump lips and spoke, "I love your dress, I looks very flattering on you. I myself wish I had such a dress." With a pearly white smile she waited for a reply. The woman's face lit up and she wiped the dampness from beneath her eyes. "Thank you so much, I was hoping at least someone could appreciate it." Nodding Yohana turned on her heels and looked around the room, thinking to herself once more. "Prehaps whoever she has at home did not take a second glance at her beautifully designed dress, at least I could do something for her day."

Yohana was always a very social and polite person, she had no problem to take time out of her day to brighten another's.

There was an Akalak, green, a color she had not seen much in Riverfall dispite the races abundance. She was such a curious woman, there was no way this Kelvic was letting that man leave this place without her getting a good conversation out of him. Cautiously she walked towards him. Her rough hands rubbed together, something she had a habit of doing before a introducing herself. The scars in the palms of her hands had an odd texture, almost a burn wound appearance with black surrounding them.

There was not much description that she could give that would be different from an Akalak. Other than the fact that he was green and the dreads that were pushed behind his massive shoulders. Without hesitation, the feline-eyed Kelvic reached out her hand with a welcoming smile, "Yohana Kenai, and you are...?" She waited for a reply and a formal hand shake.

Some might say she was blunt and noise but others would just peg her as a socialite.

The Breakfast Club [Yohana]

"Yohana Kenai, and you are...?" Daevion's eyebrow raised at the voice. He could tell the greeting was meant for him, but hunger was making him slightly hangry; he'd skipped dinner the night before. He sighed, setting all the mizas on his table before turning towards the female, Yohana, and nodding a slight greeting.

It was the woman he'd been looking at earlier from across the room; up closer, he had to agree with his earlier observation. She was quite attractive. Distances seemed to have weird effects on people's eyes, Daevion not excluded; he had pretty much doubted that up close she was as beautiful as she had seemed from afar.

He stood up, taking the more gentlemanly route to shake her hand. He was, of course, noticeably bigger than her; much, much bigger. Then again, Akalak were bigger than many races...

"Daevion Daragorn. Nice to meet you," he stated with a smile; the smile was pretty fake, but he wasn't really a man to smile often. He proceeded to sit back down, motioning to the chair across from him. Should she take it or not, he cared extremely little. He wasn't here to socialize, just eat. "So what do I owe this pleasure?" From the way he said it, it didn't sound much like it was any sort of pleasure to meet her. He was, quite honestly, only tolerating this woman because of the way she looked.

"I'll warn you, I'm not going to be here for long. I'm off to the Kendoka Sasaran after this. He motioned to the two-headed spear leaning against his chair. He was, as well, dressed as if he were going to spar quite a bit today, wearing a loose and light white shirt and equally loose black pants.

It was at that moment that a young waitress decided to come to his table. "A good meal and a pitcher of common wine, please." The waitress looked to Yohana, looking as if she were waiting for an order. And she was; he just hoped neither expected him to pay for this stranger's food.

She watched him place the coins on the table and then stand. The Akalak practically casts a shadow over the Kelvic. Now, she isn't a very small woman, a little larger than the average. With a firm handshake she gave a smile, despite the obvious unrequited smile she got from him Yohana was yet to be deterred. Before she was invited to take a seat at the table she was able to pick up a few things from his appearance.

As mentioned before, they wasn't anything he had that another Akalak didn't. His face structure was his own but it was still framed strong and muscular. The rest goes for the rest of his body. Yohana believed that no one has the exact same eyes, like a snowflake, there is always something different about them. His golden piercing eyes had tones and flakes different from any she had encountered.

Like many Kelvics, Akalaks were one of the more attractive male races. For her it was the absolute strength and power she found drew her in. Partly Yohana was intimidated by them, she'd strive to prove that she was better than one of them in some way. She loved a challenge, they were able to give her one.

Her lips opened, once shielding her oddly elongated teeth to speak. "I couldn't help but to wonder how such an exquisite Akalak, such as yourself, was doing all alone." By exquisite she meant his green color. To one it might seem that she was hitting on Daevion but Yohana was merely being friendly. If he took it the flirtatious way then she wouldn't be surprised and he wouldn't be the first.

It was obvious to her that her presence wasn't exactly desired. Whether Yohana was welcomed or not, it was not going to stop her persistence. She was more in it for a good conversation or to get her curiosity quenched. Her eyes light up when he brought the idea to the table of going to the Kendoka Sasaran. Even though she was not yet invited, she was determined to be.

Yohana knew he was not just going to invite her so she offer and invitation to have her accompany him."The Kendoka Sasaran? I wouldn't mind getting a good sparring in today..." She played off the fact that she extended an offer to the Akalak when the young waitress arrived to their table. She pondered for a moment and said; "Something light please and a cold water."

She was never the type to drink heavily. Yohana hated how it effected her abilities to do certain things. It made her feel weak and vulnerable. Before the woman walked away Yohana had a large grin on her face and called to her, "Two separate tickets, please." The woman nodded and hustled away to place their orders and attended to the rest of the bustling Tavern.

Yohana turned back at him and awaited for him to speak. Her teeth no longer showing and her full lips only tugged on the side to produce an attentive smile. Her hands on the table but holding each other.
