"The Fates Have Chosen."
3rd of winter, 516
She held her bag close to her with a smile, and then got out her cards, she was happy that the weather was nice today, as that meant that she wouldn't have to go inside a tavern to read fortunes.
She called out to the crowd in an excited and joyful tone. "Fortune telling! Come have your cards read and see what the future holds!"
It was quite daunting to be reading here, as she was new in Alvadas, and she didn't have any regular customers here like she had in Syrilas.
The crowd barely took notice of her, so she yelled louder, drawing in a person who sat down and asked for a reading.
The lady was elderly, and seemed as if she believed in the tarot. Arisia had many different customers over the time she had done this job, some of them believed in what she spoke. Some didn't, and were there for fun, and thought it nonsense. Other were terrified if they had a bad reading, and scared.
This lady had an extremely vague question, which made it hard for her to read the cards. She had said "I want to know what to do." and had left it at that.
She picked a simple five card spread, and asked the woman to shuffle her deck for her. She watched carefully, the woman was hesitant to, as if she was nervous.
Some people were scared of the tarot, though turned to it when they felt that they had no where else to go to for help and guidance.
Arisia brushed her hair behind her shoulder, and held the cards, she then lay down the spread carefully, happy that they had been shuffled correctly.
The first card was in the middle, and it symbolised the present. She turned it over gently, a simple red rose lay in the center of the card. Love.
A lot of her customers seemed to want to know of love, something Arisia hadn't experienced. It sounded like it caused a lot of pain to people, and she wanted no part of it.
"Does your issue stem from love? Perhaps an affair, or something wrong with your lover?" Arisia asked, looking up at the woman with a gentle smile, one that she would keep on her face throughout the reading, no matter what her cards showed. There was no point in her getting upset.
The elderly woman nodded and spoke. "I am worried that he is having an affair, as he has done once before. Though I forgave him."
"I understand, that must have been hard on you. I cannot imagine going through that."
The woman nodded in agreement, seemingly happy at the first reading the young kelvic had given her and she moved onto the second card, the past.
Things in the past, they almost always were affecting the current worries people had. Arisia didn't really understand that either, the past should be left alone, as it was in fact, the past. It had gone, it was over, and it couldn't harm them anymore.
