Considered one of the most mysterious cities in Mizahar, Alvadas is called The City of Illusions. It is the home of Ionu and the notorious Inverted. This city sits on one of the main crossroads through The Region of Kalea.

The Streets of Alvadas

It had been an odd thought, one that had made itself known during the early hours of that morning while she was dressing for the day and carefully applying makeup: if the streets of Alvadas could lead someone to a specific place, then what else could they lead a person to? She had paused, looking at her reflection in the mirror, her finger poised an inch from her lips, ferrying a small dollop of rosy pomade.

Well. That would certainly simplify things, wouldn't it?

It was this train of thought that found her sitting at a small table on the adjoined patio of a café, separated from the street by a waist-high iron fence. She had no real knowledge of why she was here, of all places, only the inexplicable notion that she was supposed to be, and she was quickly learning that Alvadas largely operated in ways that defied what was widely accepted to be logical. A waitress set a piping hot cup of tea down on the table in front of her, and Fragmenta offered her a thin smile of gratitude, wordlessly signaling that she would let the woman know if she needed anything else. The waitress seemed to understand and walked away, gathering dirty plates from a nearby table before making her way back to the building. There weren't many people left on the patio this late in the evening, and the air had begun to chill.

More-or-less alone once again, she turned her attention back to the street, scanning it for anything that seemed out of place and, realizing that such a task would be like searching for a needle in a stack of equally colorful, flamboyant needles, instead sampled the tea before her, a blend of chamomile and rosehips, a swirl of honey and ginger, and a subtle twist of lemon. The dark amber rolled across her tongue like bittersweet silk, the taste lingering long after she swallowed. The warmth was more than welcome on a night like this, but it would be even more appreciated if it were paired with a bit of Sywart.

She lit a cigarette using the candle present on the table, taking a long drag off of it and rolling the flavorful smoke in her mouth before tilting her head back slightly and exhaling in a long streamer that was quickly snatched away by the wind. She continued to alternate between the tea and the Sywart, her elbows on the table and her chin propped on the heel of her hand. With darkness falling across the city, she was less concerned with keeping up appearances, entirely content to melt into the nightlife and shadows of Alvadas.

Would it be so terrible if I were to remove the masque? she wondered, the thought followed almost immediately by the ever-present annoyance with herself that lurked in the back of her mind. Yes, reveal yourself for what you really are. Here, where anyone can see you, you twit."

She pointedly stripped her arms of the elbow-length gloves in a small act of defiance directed at herself. She would be showing more of herself to the world that night, one way or another, however small. She held her arms out, staring at the symmetrical patterns of scales that wound around them like coils of silver and, feeling suddenly self conscious, folded them tightly across her chest.

An empty victory if ever there was one. She again wondered why the streets had led her here, of all places.

Zifor had been traveling for almost an hour now since he had walked into the city, Alvadas was a confusing place and he had yet to relax since he has been here but he was told if he focused he would find where he needed to be eventually so he focused on a place to rest or just to calm himself down.

He had been equally angered by his purchase of this pipe as he had bought it shortly after arriving in alvadas but had neglected to purchase a source of fire to light the tobacco in it. all he had managed to find was a fire that was blue but, as he touched it there was not heat but something jumped out of the fire and bit him and the strange thing is that it turned his finger a strange shade of purple.

Ionu sure has a strange taste in humor, the god of illusions society seemed a beautiful but dangerous place something he could completely get behind as an idea as most beautiful things hid danger. but that doesn't mean one should wonder the streets and find something that had poisoned him, at least that's what he thought it was until his finger changed every color in the world and then back to normal.

he turned and was greeted by a small cafe with a few patrons outside. one woman in particular she looked strange but, in alvadas strange was normal but she didn't appear to have any elaborate illusion about her other than a simple masque adorning her face, it was elegant as well as the clothes of her she seemed very odd he saw her smoking a sight not uncommon here, as he had purchased his pipe and tobacco once he reached alvadas. but it was not out of pipe but rolled into a cigarette he slowly approached the woman in the elegant outfit removing his pipe from his own bag.

"pardon me Ma'am but if I may ask a question, you know aside from the one I just asked," Zifor lit his tobacco he smoked the same as the woman next to him as he sat down a nearby bench."Your mask, it is quite elegant as are your clothes, I was wondering if perhaps you would tell me why it is you wear such fine things on such an average day."

Zifor personally had not awoken an inner desire for fashion and the person in front of him was much more well dressed than most women he had seen in his travel so her appearance had more than piqued his interest, as well as the mask but people, had a reason to cover their face this season and he dare not speak of it if the woman could be in danger if he did so, breathing in from his pipe he breathed a plume of smoke out of his nose slowly and smiled at the women softly, with warmth awaiting her response.

The Streets of Alvadas

Such beautiful eyes. Like puddles of sunlight.

She blinked in subdued surprise when the owner of those citrine colored irises, no more than a boy by the look of it, addressed her out of the blue, drawing her out of her reverie in an instant. It was something she so often did to others, speaking with no preamble or introduction, and now, on the receiving end, she was able to appreciate how jarring it could be when one was unprepared for it.

"Your mask, it is quite elegant, as are your clothes. I was wondering if perhaps you would tell me why it is you wear such fine things on such an average day?"

Rather to the point, wasn't he? But it was an innocent enough question. Her lips twitched as she set the cup down on the table with a soft clink that somehow managed to cut through the sounds of the city around them. The smile that crept onto her face was one of genuine curiosity, as opposed to the forced token of pleasantries that had become a tool in her arsenal over the years, one that she fell back on far too frequently for her liking.

"Is it an average day, sweet thing? I wonder, who is it that decides the importance of each day? Certainly not you or I, one would think." She looked him over, her eyes making the journey from the top of his towhead to the slightly scuffed toes of his boots, taking note of simple but comfortable materials that no doubt afforded him ease-of-movement. The cloth hung from his body, not so loose that it gathered and billowed, but not so tight that it revealed every inch of his lithe frame, wiry thing that it was. Quick on his feet, this one. Another cloud of the sweetly spiced smoke swam from her painted lips and curled through the air between them, mingling with his own in a slow dance upward and into nothing. "Rags or riches, we all wear masks of one sort or another, darling. But I suppose that wasn't your question, now was it?"

She flagged the waitress down as she passed, lifting her palm from the table and making eye contact. It was enough to draw the woman's attention, apparently, and she approached the table.

"Fetch a second cup of tea if you would, love. Same as the first. My dear friend has just arrived."

As the waitress walked away, the masked woman glanced at the boy, at his captivating eyes, and indicated the seat across from her. "I can't say that I feel up to observing every rule of etiquette known to man on this most average of evenings, but I hope that you will at the very least join me at my table so that we might speak face-to-face." Her tone was teasing, though not mocking, and she hoped that her invitation seemed as genuine as it was meant to be.

To Say the woman in front of him was elegant was an understatement her clothes, Strange as they are on mizahar filled him with a desire to dress similarly although his cheek’s flushed thinking of that thing’s he was truly embarrassed by the thought.

He Eyed the mask and wondered what the secret’s behind it would be. “I Suppose you are correct” Zi smiled and took another pull from his pipe. ‘For all we know today could be the day that the world is ripped asunder by the god’s, or perhaps the day a horde of wild yukmen tear down the wall’s of alvadas” Zifor to a second to smile “Although I imagine they would be very confused when a clever master of illusions turns them all into differing creatures and they lose all semblance of intelligence” Zifor nodded. “Perhaps today will be an interesting day after all”.

A mask is but an extra piece to the puzzle in regards to this stranger she appeared as if she could be playing him for a fool but he knew, at least to some degree. The most elegant of human speech he had spent an amount of time perusing books when he wished to learn more about them.” A Mask can tell you many things’s about a man or woman, alone it is an obfuscator but to some people who bother looking it can be quite, Revealing.”

Zifor had sat down as soon as she made it clear that is what the woman had intended. Raising an eye at the word’s “My Dear Freind”

Zifor sat and nodded to her “Of Course, the very least I could do to agree" After interrupting her relaxation. He laid his hand on the table and took another draw from his pipe, blowing the smoke to the side he thanked the waitress who delivered the tea to his table and smiled at her.

“I Must say, Miss, my evening certainly has been more interesting than I intended but I guess that is the way alvadas has been since I arrived” Zifor Grinned a smile that contained mostly innocence and a small speck of deviousness. "My name is Zifor, Zi For short it is a pleasure to meet you"

Refined speech was not exactly his forte, although he did his best during the entire conversation to maintain some sense of intelligence, he was by no mean's an idiot but there was nothing in most of mizahar where a silver tongue was useful at least not in his current lifespan.
