Character History

Terek was the oldest son of a family of shipbuilders, but his heart wasn't in the family business. He loved music, and learning; he readily absorbed facts and theories, though his application of those things in the physical realm was often poor.

One night, after nearly a year of planning, he took his grandfather's violin and a pack of travelling gear and abandoned his family and Vani fiance to set out on a quest: to learn everything there was to know about everything that existed. He intended to trade music for lodging and coin while he explored the world.

Within hours of leaving the city, his idealism met reality; he was beset by a creature of the night and killed almost instantly, before he even comprehended his fate. But youthful hardheadedness is not so easily dissuaded; he rose again as a ghost, confused and shaken but with his purpose still intact.

Terek wandered lost in the wilderness for a long time before finally finding his way home. Of course, his family and fiance had long moved on, and did not exactly welcome his ghost haunting their footsteps. They threatened to call a spiritist if he did not agree to gracefully exit from their lives forever.

Alone now, he wanders Zeltiva, afraid to leave this city due to the trauma he experienced the first time, trying to learn as much as he can and fulfill his burning desire for more knowledge. Now, though, that desire is accompanied by a desire for companionship, though he believes that wish to be entirely unattainable.

He quickly turned his focus to the skill of possession, since that allowed him to share both knowledge and experiences of his host, as well as forge a superficial bond with them that made him feel more connected to another living being... before they cast him out, anyway.
