Personality and Appearance

Postby Kovis on February 2nd, 2018, 6:06 am

Appearance

Image There is nothing better than a half Eypharian (other than an eypharian). Maybe it is his family bloodline or the oils and different spa remedies his grandmother used to soak his body in as a child but like the race in which his soul and body hails from, Kovis is extremely youthful looking. He has lived in this world for eighteen years but his appearance tells you otherwise. Kovis looks less like a man coming into his own and more like a tween, trying to figure what's happening to his body with his rectangular baby face and pouty lips. If it were not for his deep voice, graceful stride and his extensive knowledge shown through conversation, there is no way you would know the young adult is in fact, an adult.

Possessing the genes and divinity of the Eypharians, Kovis has been raised in a culture where his two semi-muscular arms are more of a curse than a blessing. He is insecure about his two arms and prays that someday, the gods will give him more, believing that just having two arms will be his downfall. He is, however, very proud of his gilded skin, which covers his arms as well as other parts of his body obviously. A pale brownish color it may be, his skin still glistens and shimmers like no other. That is something he is not insecure about. He knows not even the Pressorah's body holds skin like his own and he isn't afraid to brag about that. He may not be a full blood Eypharian but dammit, he is not too far from looking like one.

Eyes like perfectly crafted jewels, the young man has gorgeous blue eyes with flecks of green and some brown. Those eyes of his often prompted the question of whether or not he's part Benshira. To look into his eyes is like looking at the most precious gems and when those gems look back at you, you will note that they are staring at you with much curiosity and a quiet hunger for wanting to know more about you and the world that surrounds you.

Do not be hypnotized by just Kovis' eyes though. Notice Kovis' thick sandy blonde hair, which is unusual and not something he inherited from his mother and her family. It smells of roses and lavender and despite its tangled, messy appearance it's soft to the touch. One might not be able to run its hands through it without pulling a knot however his lovely hair is still something to gaze at.

A pretty decent height, he is five feet tall and eight inches with a pretty average body weight. Kovis has somewhat toned muscles in his arms and legs (don't expect him to lift anything greater than his weight though), his toned legs and lower body being a bit longer than his arms and upper body. He has long nimble fingers which are usually used to snatch books off shelves and quickly turn pages too.

Personality

Since the time he was a young boy, studying and whatnot, he had always seen himself as a scholar. Eyris as his patron goddess, Kovis has always seen knowledge as the light of life. In order to survive, to thrive and sustain a sensational life, you must first learn all that the world has to offer. That's his motto and that is what he tells himself each time he opens and reads a book. He is a seeker, a person who does not let any opportunity to learn or find something new pass by because he knows that regardless of what happens, good or bad, he will gain insight and wisdom on something he's never known before and that excites him. The thought that there is something new to learn everyday intrigues him.

That being said, Kovis is also very curious of what lies ahead and around him. Like an agile cat seeing something new, he approaches new and interesting things with cautiousness and an open mind. There are consequences for every and any action; Kovis knows that. Truthfully, he could careless which is why his curiosity might be his biggest flaw. He is the sort of person to hear a strange noise and investigate it without maybe a second thought. He is the sort of person to jump in head first into a situation.

How can a young man who is supposedly so intelligent do such a thing, you may ask? Well, like many who are gifted with knowledge, Kovis somewhat lacks certain skills. Despite his ability to quickly think out tactful plans and ideas of just about anything, his mind is a little slow when it comes to real life events. It's easy to plan things out in your head and recall the world's greatest events but to direct and predict reality, that's a challenge. Nonetheless, Kovis is at the age where, despite his intelligence, he can be a little bigoted and oblivious of his own flaws.

Kovis' upbringing in an upper class Eypharian household has given him the opportunity to learn how to be a social butterfly and put on airs very well. Like a switch, Kovis can turn his talkative side on and off. He chooses when to smile and show the slightest bit of politeness to people. To curtsy and assumed the role of a good host or companion. Sometimes though, like the light and dark side of an Akalak, he can choose to give people the cold shoulder. Assuming that he is sometimes better than some people, Kovis can hold his head high and treat people like the dirt beneath his feet. He can give the meanest scowl, the dirtiest look and give the impression that he isn't the most friendliest guy around.

History

Postby Kovis on February 9th, 2018, 3:27 pm

History
Image
Tiyana re Bisret was the perfectly modified daughter of Eyktol's greatest political figure. As the daughter of a lovely six armed woman from one of the houses of the four winds and a beyond glorious six armed man in both physical appearance and intelligence-- Tiyana was thought to be destined for greatness since her time in the womb, the announcement of her expectancy had prompted marriage arrangementss, somewhat out of the ordinary for the culture, however, all proposals were turned down by the father. Hailing from a historically great family, Tiyana would be expected to make a political name for herself before finding a suitable match since her father believe no man outside of the family could ever live up to the family name.

Tiyana's training in court, politics and Eypharian culture started at an unusual age, she was fairly young and by her girlhood, she was remarkably wise one. But that did not stop her family from wanting her to be the best of the best. Tiyana's days as a girl revolved around lessons in art, music, more arithmetic, more High Arumenic and her favorite subject, history. History inspired her to be an archaeologist.

Despite her father's disapproval, Tiyana decided to spend her teens exploring the hot desert for signs of historical artifacts. During this period of time is when she met Kovis' father.

Much isn't known about Kovis' father except that he was a complicated man a bit older than his mother. Tiyana hardly learned his name, she only knew he was different in both race and mindset. Tiyana found herself attracted to him and taking aladjunn into consideration, she believed the man was the only exception. And so, upon first meeting the man and a few very rough conversations, she decided to lie in bed with him.

The Eypharian's adventure was immediately cut short. She returned home and did not hesitate to tell her parents she was expecting. The news nearly gave her father a heart attack, who believed that an Eypharian should never mingle with people not of their kind. Nafendi, her father, had never harmed his daughter but after finding out she was pregnant, he gave her five good lashes on the back, seeing her as less than even a slave. She had tarnished the family's good name and threw away her virginity in her parents' eyes but the problem was fixable.

With the help of many coins, Tiyana's status would be saved. She would be taken to The Burning Lands by a group of Benshiras and in their tents, with the help of midwives, she would have her baby. Then she would be expected to leave her child with the Benshiras and never see him again.

Image On the thirteenth of spring, 499 AV, Kovis was born-- his name deriving from his mother's favorite queen, Kova, and whom the queen descended from, Eyris. He was born in a dimly lit, that belonged to a shepard. After Kovis was born, his mother nearly fought the Benshira to take her child back home, again, disobeying her father's orders. Tiyana took her precious Kovis home with her and she couldn't of been happier. Her father wasn't as happy as her and when he asked her why she would bring back such an abomination, Tiyana answering with "this child represents something I'll never find in Eyktol's ruins; in the lavishing life we highborns enjoy; in this life and the ones to come." Nafendi was still disappointed nevertheless after gazing upon his first grandchild, his opinion changed just a little bit and he decided to keep him.

Unlike most children, little Kovis was not raised under the careful watch of his mother but his grandmother and grandfather. Whom would be called father and mother. Kovis' story of where he came about would be a lie he'll believe the first few years of his life. The story went like this; his grandfather had impregnated one of his concubines (which he had many of) and while giving birth to little Kovis, the mother had died and since Nafendi had always wanted a son, he kept the child and decided to raise it as his own. Compared to the truth, the story was not out of the ordinary. Matter a fact, it made a lot of sense and not only did it save Tiyana's reputation but Kovis' life as well. Now, he would be a little more accepted.

Kovis was a fond baby with what his grandmother would call "the face of a prince". But no matter how adorable or cute he was as a child, he was never a child the family parade around with willingly. Telling people about the 'bastard' child was not really an embarrassment. It just wasn't polite conversation and definitely wasn't something anyone wanted to brag about. Besides, there was no way to show off a kid when just about the entire family was always busy. Tiyana was a mother now but that never stopped her from going on adventures frequently. Nafendi was almost always so busy with his work in politics, the man was nearly gone all the time since he was required to be in Ahnatep but his home was on the outskirts. So the only people Kovis really had was his grandmother, who wanted to give being a mother another shot at and didn't really succeed, and the hundreds of servants and slaves his grandfather kept.

Growing up, Kovis found himself around the servants more often than his own family. It was the servants who fed him and ate with him almost everyday, the servants that played with him when he was bored and even rocked him to sleep as a babe. It was even the servants that taught him how to walk and talk. Being the sort of kid that caught on to thing very quickly, Kovis began to think of the servants as his family and referred to them as so.

When his mother and grandfather had come to realize he was bonding more with the servants, the two became rather jealous. Nafendi, who took on the role of his father, started to do much more with him. Nafendi would engage with his grandson by teaching him about the culture he was so proud of and even take him into the city every once in awhile. Tiyana began going on her little adventures less and staying home with Kovis, giving him the same lessons she was given at his age and sometimes she would tell him stories. Around the age of three or four, Kovis' mother was beginning to play a big role in his life and started to come off as someone he could depend on.

That was somewhat true too. While Nafendi and Lyana wanted to keep Kovis behind their estate walls like a caged animals, Tiyana refused. She took it upon herself to give Kovis a normal childhood with some highborn privileges. Tiyana even began teaching her son High Arumenic, something her parents were reluctant to teach Kovis, feeling that since he's half Eypharian he did not exactly have right to it. There was a lot Kovis' grandparent were hesitant about when it came to him.

Sooner rather than later though, they became less hesitant and wanted their grandson (or 'son') to participate much more in the Eypharian lifetyle and in the end, it all worked out. By the time he was four, Kovis was attending large parties and festivals, his first outing being where he met and bonded with a kelvic, Tusk. Being so exotic in looks, Nafendi received many compliments about his 'son' which only made him proud and invest more time and money in Kovis. Kovis began receiving only the finest clothes, finest tutors and took classes in singing, dancing and musical instruments just to seem more appealing. Kovis was treated more like an exotic pet than a person when it came to such activities-- something his mother dread-- however, he was given what he both needed and wanted.

Like academics, that was something that he lust after and needed and with Tiyana as a role model, Kovis at the age of six became more serious about his academics. He took a lot of interest in history, like his mother and even a bit of philosophy. When he could speak for himself, he began requesting tutors in specific subjects and when those tutors failed to meet his need, he would get rid of them. At one point in his child, Kovis began teaching himself. But no matter how good he got, Kovis could never pass up a lesson from his mother, who he admired for her intelligence. Tiyana still went on her adventures and whenever she discovered or learned something new, she would teach it to her son first. Her son who did not find out he was her son until he was twelve.

Yes, after years of addressing his mother as his sister, Kovis finally learned that his mother was not his sister until around the age of twelve. Kovis' mother was finally done with her adventures and decided she wanted to settle in Ahnatep and become a little more active with her son and city, Ahnatep. Also, Tiyana had met an Eypharian man who at first was a fling. However, after years of an on and off relationship, Kovis' mother decided she wanted to marry him. Their marriage came and soon Kovis' mother moved to Ahnatep (so far away from home) and Kovis was devastated. He begged for his mother to come back and shockingly, she proposed that Kovis move to Ahnatep.

Sadly, his grandparents would not allow it. Not only did they now see Kovis as their responsibility, but thought it was too soon and they scared that Tiyana's husband would find out the truth. So despite Kovis' longing to be with Tiyana, the offer was denied and that infuriated Tiyana. She returned home to argue with her parents and the battle was so heated, she slipped and revealed the truth. Kovis was her son.

Kovis was in shock and disbelief. But more or so, he was upset with his mother because he felt like she never wanted to be his mother and tried to run away from the dark secret for the longest time. He no longer wanted to move in with his mother. Instead, he never wanted to see her again and for the next six years, that's what he did.

The years were somewhat limited because when Kovis finally reached eighteen years, he decided to move to the city, Ahnatep, and go to school there to become a sage. Being one of the few lucky halfling in Eyktol, his grandfather would pay for his education and even buy him a small home in the city. Once settled in the city, Kovis decided to talk to his mother again and he was surprised to find out that he was now an older brother to three gorgeous young Eypharian girls. Kovis' younger siblings is what brought he and his mother closer. He began speaking to her more and liking her just for a little while. Kovis didn't stay too long in Ahnatep to get to know his mother though. Somehow, Kovis heard about a new settlement in another region. He asked his grandfather to allow him to go and when his grandfather told him no, Kovis asked his mother; who now, as a mature adult, respected her father's wishes and did the same.

Furious, Kovis felt like he had no other choice but to steal from his mother and hitch a ride with a caravan. He would go on an adventure someway or another.

People of His life

Postby Kovis on February 9th, 2018, 4:02 pm

Family

ImageName: Nafendi re Bisret
Relationship: Grandfather ("Father")
Date of Birth: 23rd of Summer, 434
Race: Eypharian
Additional Info: Working right underneath the Pressorah's nose, Nafendi has one of the greatest political seats in all of Eyktol. It was not a job that was hard to come by and in the same manner as becoming Pressor or Pressorah, it was passed down from parent to child. Anyway, Nafendi was born into one of Ahnatep's most powerful families, who is said to have tried to usurp the throne numerous times. Nafendi is not about taking the throne but he is about fame and glory, doing anything to make himself look good as a person. Aside from the Pressorah, Nafendi is one of the most famous faces in Eyktol.

He hated Kovis when he first heard of him. Nafendi thought Kovis would put an end to their family's good name. After taking him in and pretending he was his bastard son though, Nafendi felt he could love no other like he could his grandson; not even his daughter's legitimate children. No matter what Kovis does, he is the apple of his grandfather's eye.

ImageName: Lyana re Ahnatep
Relationship: Grandmother ("Stepmother")
Date of Birth: 1st of Winter, 467
Race: Eypharian
Additional Info: A member of one of the houses of the four winds, Lyana and her parents were beginning to become distant relatives-- never in the line of succession or any important role. To avoid turning into dust and becoming the forgotten member of a noble house, Lyana did all that she could do to marry a man with a better position than herself. Which wasn't much at all, Lyana has perfect genetics. Nafendi knew that once he laid eyes on her. Lyana and Nafendi would be what most people consider a "match made in heaven". But after a few years together, Lyana absolutely despises her husband. Lyana is a kind woman but behind closed doors, she's a real witch and not the good kind.

Kovis and his grandmother have a great relationship, she may treat his grandfather like crap but she has never harmed him. She was actually extremely happy to hear about his arrival as a newborn babe and against her husband's wishes, traveled to The Burning Lands to witness it. Lyana purposely ruled out her daughter raising the child, deeming her an unfit mother so she could experience being a mother again. Lyana felt she did not have the chance when her one and only child was born.

ImageName: Tiyana re Bisret
Relationship: Mother ("Sister")
Date of Birth: 11th of Spring, 485
Race: Eypharian
Additional Info: The cunning and adventure seeking daughter of a politician, Tiyana is the perfect representation of the eypharian race. Well, around other Eypharians she is the perfect representation. In reality, Tiyana is very rebellious, tossing everything her family has worked very hard for out the window. Tiyana spent a majority of her younger years traveling Mizahar and pretending to be an archaeologist. She had an interest in history and life before now. Sadly, there came a time where she had to put her interest aside and cave in to society. Tiyana is an incredible mother of three, or should I say four, children and the perfect wife to a man in almost the same position as her father.

Kovis and his mother's relationship used to be great. He still loves his mother with all his heart yet the fact that he keeps her a secret has ruined what they once had. Tiyana loves her son and despite his wishes to never see her again, she would do anything for him. Including allowing him to steal money to leave Ahnatep.

ImageName: Tusk of The Tempered Steel
Relationship: Bondmate and closest friend
Date of Birth: 3rd of Winter, 502
Race: Kelvic (tiger)
Skills: Wilderness Survival (15), Hunting (15)
Additional Info: Tusk was born in Taloba to kelvic parents of Myrian descent. His mother, a Tskanna, had bonded to a great Myrian warrior who so happened to be an animal trainer. As for his father, a hummingbird, the man had never bonded and as far as he knew, never did. Both weren't exactly in love but at the time, gave in to their animal instinct and mated, which created Tusk. Tusk grew up fast, like any of his kind and being an intelligent being, he caught on to Myrian culture pretty fast and enjoyed it. But he never felt complete in Taloba and quickly moved on. He travelled numerous cities, however, it wasn't until he was caught and sold as a slave in Eyktol did he find what he was looking for his entire life.

Sold to a middle class Eypharian, Tusk was used as a guard because of his naturally toned body. Tusk's owner threw incredible parties and it was at one of these incredible parties, he found his bondmate. It so happened to be a very young Kovis and going against his duties as a guard and slave, Tusk followed and became overprotective of the young boy. As a favor to Kovis grandfather, Tusk was released and moved in with Kovis and his family.

Tusk is a quiet and very intimidating looking kelvic. He's rather large in his human form and terribly strong, even at his old age. Tusk is considered Kovis' best friend and sometimes protector. As Kovis grows older though and the two spend more and more alone time together, they begin to explore new feelings for each other...ones that are almost unspeakable for the both of them.

Animals
Image Pressorah 'Pressy' re Bisret is the name Kovis gave his extravagant lapdog born in the beginning of Winter 517. He bought her to keep him company when his bondmate is away and considers Pressorah his little baby although she isn't so little anymore. Pressorah is still a tiny pup but with long legs and big ears that make her look slightly awkward. She's a quiet dog but smart and attached to her owner.
