Maya got on her boots with confidence her mission in the earlier season to get the slaves back went over fairly well. No one died thankfully or at least not the cargo, and she met a new “friend” as he called them. But the Lark saw him more of just an ally at the moment. She was still very skeptical about him just happening to be passing through the area. Popping her neck, the woman walked down to the kitchen and grabbed an apple. Maya sat down and ate while watching her mother move around the kitchen looking over papers for a new case she appeared to be working on at the moment.
“What are you fighting this time?” Maya asked looking at her.
“A woman accused her husband's elderly slave of beating her. The slave's owner says otherwise,” Jira explained and flip some hair out of her face.
“Sounds interesting. Has dad said anything about my mission earlier this season?” Maya inquired.
“He said, he was impressed by your leadership. But your confidence and fighting need to improve greatly,” Jira stated.
Maya groaned and her head hit the bar. She had hoped to hear word about him possibly giving her another chance. At this rate, the woman would be working in the market instead of being the one catching slaves.
