CONCEPT
As the majority of his race is, Tasarion is a balanced man with a firm ability to control his 'dark brother' under nearly any circumstance. His life is dedicated to the pursuit of serenity and discipline. More than anything else, he simply wants to improve in his abilities, be that in combat or in knowledge.
He is extremely bright, able to grasp most subjects the first time they're told to him. Tasarion is much more of an audible learner, though he enjoys being hands-on when it comes to combat training. After all, what better way to learn is there than by doing?
Though he can come across to other races as intimidating, this is only half of the truth. He is a large man, strong with a build that towers over most others, but the majority of the time, he's a gentle giant. Then again, that idea usually gets thrown down the waterfall once he's seen with a blade in his hand.
Tasarion has a phenomenal grasp on his own emotional state, though a passionate state can sometimes cause the grasp to lessen. Because his second personality surfaced when he was young, the man has had time and help in learning to control and maintain the balance necessary for a healthy and stable life with his 'light brother' remaining the dominant personality.
Since he was raised by his father, without truly meeting his mother, Tasarion highly values the paternal lineage, while not really caring about the maternal side of his bloodline. He respects his father and his grandfather, when the man was alive, but still ensures he respects himself before anyone else. Pride is a high motivator, but he won't pretend that he knows more than he does. After all, too much pride can get you into trouble.
His desire is to become better at his combat abilities, so he can teach others the same. In all truth, he wants to journey in search of furthering his skills. For the time being, he knows he should stay where he is, but he's determined to learn other skills from other people, including:
Humans
His goal is to learn the fundamentals of general swordsmanship from humans.
He has yet to accomplish this.
Drykas
His goal is to learn the skill of throwing weapons, such as spears, from the Drykas. He will most likely have to travel to Endrykas.
He has yet to accomplish this.
Inartas
His goal is to learn archery from the Inartas. He will most likely have to travel to Wind Reach.
He has yet to accomplish this.
Jamoura
His goal is to further his own knowledge and spiritual balance abilities from the Jamoura. He will most likely have to travel to the Spires.
He has yet to accomplish this.
Myrians
His goal is to learn craftiness in combat from the Myrians, specifically from the Crimson Sun clan. He will most likely have to travel to Taloba.
He has yet to accomplish this.
Though the first place he has successfully turned to is Syka. Though he is aware there is most likely little to gain in the search of combat knowledge, the rumor of the remains of Valkalah being discovered was more than enough to entice his mind and adventurous spirit. HISTORY
Tasarion never knew his mother. The furthest he can remember is being six years old, at which point his maternal parent was not in his life. According to his father, she had died in childbirth. He was raised by his father, and even his grandfather at some points. His paternal lineage is one of the most important things in his life, primarily because that's all he knows.
His 'dark brother' emerged when he was four years old, so his father worked with him from a very young age. By the time he was ten, Tasarion had virtually complete control over his two personalities, which thrilled his father.
When his grandfather died, Tasarion received his great-grandfather's Lakan. Though the weapon technically would've gone to his father, the older warrior passed it along to his son as a way of acknowledging the boy's skills. At his age, Tasarion was more dedicated to weaponry and combat than his father was, so he was steered in that direction.
At the age of fifteen, he underwent the Rite of Trial, as every fifteen-year-old Akalak would. Teamed with two other boys, Tasarion hunted and killed the Glassbeak alpha, leaving the pack without a leader. The other two boys were then also able to take down their own Glassbeaks. That being said, the fight didn't go simply. It wasn't that the task was necessarily difficult, but that the boy sets his goals quite high. He refused to take any other but the alpha. Tasarion left with a decent injury on his right calf, from the back of his knee almost to his ankle. He still bears the scar to this day.
At the feast, Tasarion announced that he wanted to be a teacher of Lakan skills. His father wasn't the least bit surprised, but the boy's lack of true drive when it came to training in his profession wasn't exactly the most reassuring. That being said, Tasarion devoted his time to learning his ability, so it wasn't a complete waste of time.
By the time he aged to thirty, he was determined to complete his Rite of Passage. Tasarion knew that killing a Zith was far from the easiest task, but he wanted it to be his own, so he denied assistance from any of his peers. Though he was proud, his father worried for his son. Tasarion took his great-grandfather's Lakan on the hunt. Once again, he left with a dead Zith and a painful injury. The scars down his chest are worn as a mark of honor and achievement, which he actually does show off at times during the summer or late spring.
Regardless of his own accomplishments to date, Tasarion felt that he should've been able to make it through both rites without injury, so he does feel a minor element of failure in relation to the scars. Because of this, the man wants to travel and learn new ways of combat and understanding.
In his reading and the stories told to him, he believed the Myrians, though a savage people, were great warriors. He even began studying their language to someday journey there and learn from them. After asking more and more people, Tasarion realized how many races could offer him what he sought. And thus, he began his pursuit.[/color]
