Character Concept

Lee is an active young man, he hates sitting around doing nothing – he would rather read a book or learn to do something, than sit idle. Lee is a curious young man, never truly satisfied if he isn't out learning something new and interesting. He has aspirations to become a great man – although not entirely sure how. He has a fondness for knowledge.

The history of Lee William

Lee was born in Ravok and around his fourth or fifth year in the world, his family left Rhysols domain and traveled from city to city for the better part of a decade. He visited many cities, but never really staying long enough to get any loyalty to any single city – their longest stay, prior to Sunberth, was Mura where he spent enough time to learn some of the language. Finally the incessant travels came to a stop in Sunberth. His mother had grown weary of never settling down, but she had never imagined her husband would choose Sunberth, a city full of shyke (her words). She endured living in poverty with Lee's father for another couple of years before she left him for a richer man while she was still 'young' and beautiful enough – and when that didn't suffice, she knew how to add a little magic to her speech or morphing away undesireable traits when she was on 'the prowl'. Magical abilities that she taught little Lee over the years.

Lee's father was devastated, turned to alcohol and soon he was a mere shell of who he had been earlier. Always angry and loudly screaming profanities at anyone and everyone. He often got into violent disagreements with other people and Lee had to patch him up afterwards. Lee got interested in medicine from treating his father. And living in Sunberth, there was rarely a lack of people he could practice his medicine upon. Mostly it was tending to shallow cuts, but once in a while he had the dubious honour of resetting a bone or popping a joint back in place. For a few years he was 'content' with this lifestyle, but he could feel his growing anger and impatience with his father. Who often, on his sober days, demanded he come hunting with him.

Lee was not the hunting type. Barely able to keep still for more than a few chimes at a time, he would often accidentally spook a potential prey before his father could put a quarrel into it. Lee did get to learn about a lot of plants and other useful things in the wilderness, that aided his budding interest in medicine. Eventually, he found Sunberth too small and rough for his taste, so he left the city for Ravok – partly out of curiosity about his origins and partly because the splendid city of Rhysol must have a library that could aid him in his studies and perhaps expand his knowledge of morphing and nader-kanoch. He found employment as a caravan guard/doctor, the pay was awful – as in, no pay, but he would be fed during the trip, so that was a huge boon. He arrived in Ravok a few days before spring ended. Finding a city much different than he had remembered and expected.
