"No. Thank you," Lani spoke. She had a lot to learn about the culture, and she could immediately tell that she was expected to know more than she did. Her confidence in this city came from her passing through the port all those years ago, but her confidence in the language came from the rich and diverse culture that she grew up in in Alvadas. The mixed blood was not one to blend in easily, even in a place where it might be possible to do so, but she began to realize she might need to. Bow her head, do as she is told, and earn her way out of this volcano. This was not going to further her magic plans or her religious one, but this was far from a bad city to accidentally land in. Her competative nature paid attention to the caste system though, and she wondered at how common it was to move up in the system. Although he was perfectly respectful of the Chiet and Avora classes, he seemed to not care for the Dek in the least. Which meant that he was too far above them to care, or because once one became a Dek, that is where they stayed. Was that true for all the castes? Even if it wasn't, what was the likelihood that a foreigner and an outsider to the Inarta culture would have even chances with an Inarta Chiet competitor?

Regret settled on not mentioning her magic, which was her strongest growing skill, but she was quick to shove that thought down. While it would be a precious and rare skill that might get her into the Avora class, it would only do so if magic was looked kindly upon, and she was too new to figure that out. Still, she wanted to keep her head down, which meant not to reach too high or draw too much attention to herself. A prospect that confused her ego, even in the simplest of terms. But, Kavisan was sizing her up like a bird growing bored of someone poking at it, and she anticipated a short fuse to these people, which was fine. That, at least, she was used to.

"Thank you, very much." She said again in Nari, standing and bowing at him slightly like a Lhavitian would. She wasn't as flippant as Alvadians, nor as serene as Lhavitians. She was new to the passionate Inarta, but despite the confusion, could see it was going to be an adventurous few seasons.
