Bricken
A curious clay man
Name(s): Bricken Race: Pycon Caste: Yasi Gender: Male Age: ~3 Seasons Birthday: 28 Winter 518 Birthplace: Syliras |
Looks And Feels
Appearance Bricken is a very simple looking humanoid, made from the clay-like material standard of pycons. The material is still malleable and fresh due to his youth. His face is relatively featureless save for a carved nose, a slit for a mouth, and two small eyes. His body is wide, with long limp arms that by default have no hands or fingers. When needed, he can morph them into a rough hand shape for holding items. His legs are similarly featureless. His 'clothing' is very simple as well. He hadn't met many people outside of the trade caravan he travelled on and the inarta he had met when first arriving at Wind Reach, giving him little time to learn fashion (or even a purpose for it). He has a hat formed atop his head, and what resembles a collar or necklace around his neck. Personality Bricken is very curious, especially about the way Wind Reach is made from earth in a way similar to himself. He decided to stay and absorb its culture after arriving with his mother on board a caravan. He tends to be very stern, and a little quiet, preferring to figure out his words before speaking (especially when communicating in Nari). Even in his short time in Wind Reach, he has absorbed a lot of the popular attitudes towards the castes and other races, almost seeing himself as a small inarta. The locals don't see him as an inarta, but he isn't hated either; most see him as little more than a neat knick knack or statue. However, he does take pride in the fact he will get to work amongst the rest of the city as a productive member. |
Life And Times
Pre-Creation Bricken's mother and father were two pycon who had worked alongside merchants. His father was a craftsman; his mother assisted in managing funds for a spice trader. They were on a trading route, stopped in Syliras, when Bricken was born. His father, growing old, stayed in search of a pyve in the large city, while his younger mother continued to travel, taking care of her newborn ball of clay. Because of this mobile lifestyle, Bricken had experienced many cultures, but he had never truly been immersed in one. He began to get the hang of mathematics and negotiation from working around the merchants. The traders had paid svefra to travel a route from Syliras to Kalea's shores. The pycon easily fit amongst cargo, his mother keeping watch over the goods the merchants were selling. Among these merchants were a variety of races. One, an inarta, told many stories of his home at Wind Reach. Bricken had been filled with wonder, and the knowledge that this city was on their route filled him with excitement, and he insisted on being taught basic Nari. By the time they approached the city, he was three seasons old, and ready to leave his mother in search of a purpose of his own. Post-Creation !! |
