"She seems human," Blythe commented rather absently. She was biting her bottom lip, and her arms were crossed over her chest. She was feeling rather antsy; impatient to hear the diagnosis Metis gave Keyta. She wanted to know precisely what was wrong, and that the girl would be ok. Blythe did of course, understand that it would take some time for Keyta to heal, and that she may be in pain for quite some time. That, and her leg may never quite be the same. Growing far to anxious to contain herself, Blythe asked, "so do you know what's wrong with her? Is there anything you can do?" Metis pulled her eyes away from Serrif and returned her gaze to Blythe. "I would need to look again to be certain, but it appears as though she has broken a few bones, as you said, and has taken quite the beating. She definitely has a few bruises, and will be in pain for a while. I'm not yet sure if she is bleeding internally." "Well, can you fix it?" Blythe asked impatiently, her eyes glowing with fear. She hoped the girl wasn't bleeding, or too bruised, that could be dangerous couldn't it? Perhaps even fatal. Of course, Blythe couldn't be positively certain, knowing so little of medicine, but she knew that it couldn't be good. The less damage the better, and the faster Keyta's recovery would be. Growing unnerved with the forcefulness of Blythe's questions, Metis' brows furrowed. "I shall see what I can do for her, at least to make her more comfortable. We have herbs for the pain... and we can reset her leg... this cast," Metis gestured to the work Serrif had performed on Keyta's leg, "or whatever it is supposed to be, simply will not do." Where were her manners? Blythe wondered. Seriously. After all, considering what they had to work with, they had seemed to do a decent job with the brace. Or rather Serrif had, she hadn't really done much to help. "And perhaps we can do something about those nasty bruises," Metis added before she seemed to glide back over the grass and into the Opal Temple. Bitch, Blythe's brain whispered as she watched the woman go, her pale pink dress dragging behind her. Blythe's mouth hung open as her eyes grew wide with shock. Blythe! she scolded herself, you stop thinking such things this instant! Or Lynn shall know and wash your mouth out with soap as soon as you get home! Blythe forced herself to close her mouth. Best not to look like an idiot in front of strangers, she thought. Within a few moments, Blythe had rid the thought from her mind, just as the bitch... erm, healer, returned with a small, brown woven wicker basket dangling from the middle of her right arm, just below the elbow. Well its about time, Blythe thought, as Metis said, "now lets see what we can do for you." OOCLynn is Blythe's mother. Also, I think it's only fair that Keyta decide just how well Metis does healing her. I just don't think we could create an NPC with a gnosis, so keep that in mind! |

The girl was a kelvic? Her name was Keyta? Ohhhh Avalis, why couldn't she have put all the pieces of the puzzle together sooner? Blythe wondered, as she silently scolded herself. After all, of the several people present, Blythe was the only one that had spent more than a few hours around Keyta, but of course, she was one of the last people to discover what she truly was. Of course, she had no problem with the girl being a Kelvic, it was simply that she hadn't known, and that the news was a bit of a shock to her, more than anything else. "And no, I didn't notice her fall myself, for my back was turned," Blythe commented. "She also doesn't seem able to speak. She may be a mute... she communicates using pictures sometimes. She is rather... creative," Blythe finished. After that, Blythe was quiet for quite some time. Her mind was spinning as it began to put all the pieces of the puzzle together. As it mused over her being... a bat, who could essentially take on the form of a human girl at will. Although, she imagined shifting one's shape would be rather tiring. But... was that why she always seemed so lively at night? While the girl had been awake a few nights ago? She was a bat? A bat who liked fruit, a lot. Which led Blythe to believe that she could be nothing other than a fruit bat in disguise. It also explained why she always wound up nude in each of their encounters, among other things. When Blythe had everything sorted out in her mind, or at least, as sorted out as they would ever get, she said, "she can come home with me. She doesn't seem to have a home, and we have room enough." Blythe paused. "But of course, only if she wants to come. I wouldn't force such a thing on her, should she choose to stay here until she recovers, or stay with Serrif, or someone else we may not know about." |

They drugged her! Were they crazy? Blythe wondered as her eyes grew wide. She kept looking from one of the healers to the other, wondering which one was worse. After all, one of them had no manners, the other was.... nuts. Scratch that. One was mean and out of her mind, the other was simply out of her mind. Wouldn't knocking the girl out cause brain damage or something? Blythe wondered. "Are you sure that's a good idea?" Blythe asked, as she looked at the girl worriedly. She received no answer. The healers were too busy worrying over Serrif now. And now she was busy worrying about Keyta and Serrif, despite the fact that she had just met him. Was she the only normal person around here? Blythe wondered as Serrif held a bag of cockle shells out to her. "Thank you," Blythe said absently as her cheeks grew a pale pink. What a strange man, among other things. This was turning out to be one of the strangest days she had endured in a long, long time. "Are you sure you don't want them to look at you now?" Blythe asked as she reached for her bag. She opened the top and gingerly placed the bag of shells inside, careful not to break any of them. They tinkled and clicked as they rubbed up against each others, and Blythe lifted her bag onto her shoulders. "It's not like Keyta is going anywhere, and that way, you wouldn't have to make the trip back." As if in response, Serrif picked Keyta up. He seemed determined, as though he wouldn't back down. Blythe sighed, she would not try to stop him. After all, was it truly her place to baby a complete stranger? "Since you're coming back then, I'll just leave your things here, surely Metis and Remitah will make sure that nothing happens to them," Blythe said, giving each of the other Konti and intense gaze. They simply nodded, and with that, Blythe turned abruptly on her heels and headed back in the direction they had came. She made sure to hold the door open for Serrif as he carried Keyta out the front door to the Temple. Blythe led the way down the steps, and on the thin gravel road. The gates that led into the park were open as before, so they encountered no problems there. As soon as they were out of the gate, Blythe headed east. Her family's cottage was about a ten minute's walk in that direction. "Thanks for carrying her," Blythe commented. "And don't worry, you won't have to carry her for all that much longer, the trip to my family's cottage is much shorter than our original one. If we keep up at a reasonable pace, it shouldn't take more than ten minutes. From there, I could always walk you back to the temple if you need a guide. Unless you'd rather venture back at your own pace, and by yourself." OOCAgain, sorry to control you, but I figured you'd follow. Holler if it's a problem. |
