On the north wall of The Outpost, adjacent to The Outpost Dovecot, is The Kalskan Fountain. Named for one of Xyna's first priests, the fountain is a primary outlet for the artesian well located beneath the outpost. Filled with fresh clean water, the fountain is the primary pipped outlet that fills and keeps the pressure up to all the drinking water fountains throughout The Outpost and the main gardens and courtyards that have water features or pipped irrigation. This fountain and its controls - behind the wall - also fill the animal troughs in the beast market part of Open Sky Bazaar.
A grand masterwork of gadgeteering, the fountain itself is a simple thing in appearance if one does not realize the sheer amount of pipes in the rooms behind and beneath the fountain. The Kalskan Fountain also controls the water flows to the Riads and Apartments throughout The Outpost.
As a central gathering place, the Fountain contains a message board where people can post events, want-ads, and leave messages for each other traveling in and out of The Dovecote. The caretaker will make sure the messages are dated and leave them up for only two days before they are taken down unless the messages themselves request a longer posting time. The caretaker himself, a master gadgeteer, lives in small quarters adjacent to the fountain on the opposite side of the dovecote.

Kuric is a direct descendant of the first champion of Xyna. Almost everyone in his family has born Xyna's mark and has been watched over or employed in one way or another by the Goddess. Kuric himself considers Xyna a friend and happily took on the job of basically being the watermaster of all of The Outpost in the polite guise of a simple Fountain Maintenance Worker.
