While food is a major export into The Outpost, the priests of Xyna don't take chances. They also grow food in lavish gardens. One of their most clever designs is the Hydroponics Garden. Developed from resources learned in Wind Reach, fish are put to use to be raised as both a crop and a means of keeping water clean and nutrient-rich for plants to grow within. And while food production - both fish and plants - is the major goal of this garden, people are still allowed to stroll through it, enjoy the aquatic life, and take in the plants growing.
Their caretaker, Les, is more than willing to talk shop with anyone wandering by and has been known to take on students and apprentices to teach food production in this manner too. There are over thirty-five species of fish in this garden, three varieties of edible frogs and salamanders, and two hundred varieties of food production plants and herbs. Like other gardens, dung from the beast section of the Open Sky Bazaar is formed into a liquid fertilizer to combine with the water to add in plant growth.
Well-lit at night to assist plant growth and fish production, the garden is a welcome destination for night owls and restless people wanting something to do. Many of the fish within the hydroponics garden have bioluminescence, making it a slightly magical place even though aesthetics isn't its primary purpose.

Name: Les Daviskan
Race: Inarta

PoB: Wind Reach

Les, born an Inarta in Wind Reach along with two other siblings, was born restless. He left his triplet situation as soon as he got out of his schooling and was told he could be nothing more than a Dek the rest of his life. Stowing away on a Wind Eagle in a supply barrel he emptied out, Les soon found himself with Svefra and he began to roam. He visited every major port, explored every city he could manage to get to, and eventually was called to The Outpost where he put his acquired skills to use. Les has two identical siblings, so they often visit him which can be somewhat unnerving to people not used to Inarta culture.
