Character's Name
Thorne

Basic Information

Race: Human
Birthday & Age : Ttwenty. Mid-autumn.
Gender: Male.

Physical Description

Of unimposing height, just a little under six feet, but with broad shoulders and a sturdy, though not massive, build he weighs perhaps eleven stone and does not usually stand out from a crowd. His head is kept shaved for convenience, and dark, heavy stubble frames his firm jaw. His features are otherwise unremarkable, but combine to give a pleasing, if not exactly handsome effect.
His usual expression is thoughtful and contemplative but open. Depending on the situation and who is looking at, if anyone, he has an easy smile with laughing eyes or a firm, cold visage. Sometimes a series of expressions, kind or fierce, will roam over his features as his thoughts wander far away from his current context, until he is recalled to his surroundings. This can even happen in the middle of a conversation if he’s not involved for a while, which can confuse others or make them uncomfortable.
It seems that, as his moods change, so does his appearance, right down to how he holds his body, and even the colour of his eyes; usually a deep brown, they move to bright green when he is happy, and through to a cold, dark blue when anger takes him.
His clothing is entirely practical and made for heavy wear and freedom of movement.

Character Concept

He is a man who prefers to be happy and in good company than to be sad, but is prone to bouts of wistful melancholia, although he is sometimes happy to share these, especially when drinking.
He wants to be in new places, but yearns to find a place he can feel at peace. He’s not good at sitting idle, but will instead roam the streets. He is looking for something, although he is unsure what or where. Having realised this, he determines to make the best of a situation that he can and not think too much of the future.
He tries to be fair, but is prone to be ruled by his temper, which can be stubborn and fierce. However, he is deeply loyal to those he considers friends.

Character History
He has lived his whole life in Sunberth and is desperately tired of it and its people; their complaining, hypocrisy and need to fight or hurt someone. He realises that these very characteristics have been imparted to himself as a product of their society and hates it.
His mother died when he was young, too young to really remember her, and he was raised by his father, a sometimes fierce man but never so towards his son.His father had been a soldier, but left the army when he found he was to be a father. He had hoped to provide a secure future for his family where he would not be called away at a moments notice to die and leave a widow and son behind. His father taught him what he could to help him survive, to get by; how to fight to get and to keep, how to buy and sell to eke out a meager profit, and even a little of language. As soon as he was old enough he went with his father whenever there was work available.
About a year ago, his father was killed in a tavern brawl and Thorne would dearly love to find out who was responsible, but so far knows nothing. He’s not even sure where his father was drinking that night, just that his body turned up with shards of bottle glass in his throat.
Now Thorne is tired of this repellent city and its inhabitants. He wants to out.

Equipment and Possessions

Backpack

War axe.(30g) (worn through a metal belt-hoop)
Solidly made and well balanced, it has a half-moon blade, the points of which do not touch the handle, leaving space for hooking weapons and shields. There is also a spike mounted on the top and another on the rear, opposite the blade.

Armour:

Large steel shield (20g)
Of the triangular heater-shield design, point down, the sides curve back towards the user to allow blows to glance aside. The shield is painted a deep green to prevent rust, but is otherwise undecorated. This is usually worn over the right shoulder by a short leather strap through which the right arm is passed through. The strap being much shorter than the shield it does not get in the way once the shield is properly in place.

Back and breast (50g) (worn as often as possible. Usually taken off for sleeping)

Clothing:

Worn, practical clothing with boots and cloak.

Misc: Food: one week.
Water skin
Toiletries
Eating knife
Flint and steel
Simple home.
Necklace(50g: This beautifully crafted work is of silver, with a single, tasteful forget-me-not stone set into it which would sit on the throat. It was given to his mother by his father when they married. His father gave it to Thorne on his tenth birthday as a gift from her.)

Ledger

No liquid wealth left.
