Zenda Katara stared out the windows at the shore. Her mind gave her yet another vision, one of which a fish would jump in a near ten seconds. She counted it down, a bright, white smile on her face. She loved her lodge. Most especially, she loved her neighbors and how generally coordinated they were. In the entire string of never-ending beach lodges, everyone knew and liked each other. They liked their home. They like the blazing golden sun every morning. But what was most important was that they liked their lives. Zenda swept her hair from her face and looked down at her white pleated nightgown, and realized if she wanted to go get a nice salmon lunch she would need to be dressed and have the tackle ready. She knew the tackle was ready, but she headed to her wardrobe in the corner nearest her bed and pulled out some casual, cool articles. She soon found herself in front of the mirror, inspecting the clothes ever-so-carefully for mishaps. Her white top and skirt were lined with a silvery-blue lace, and she realized it needed a head accessory, but she had the perfect one in mind... A white sailor's hat. From then on all she needed to snatch up was her tackle box, and she was on her way. She opened up the closet and pulled her green tackle box from the shelf, and her blue fishing pole in the larger area. She had no business with the other items. She shoved her keys in her shirt pocket and opened the door, locking it behind her. She left her flip-flops by the entrance and ran to her "fishing rock", a black rock where she could dip her toes in the water while fishing. She set her line to the surf and picked up a tomato from the plastic sack container she had brought. As she chewed it up, her fishing line nearly tugged her into the lake. She yanked it back and stating reeling, then yanking again, then reeling. It went on and on until she pulled in a large catfish, sadly being one of the few tastes she didn't like. She un-snagged his lips and wipes her hands with a sanitary towel, then continued to gripping for another hour. Finally, she felt another yank, followed by another. This was easier to reel in, and when she discovered what they were, she was flabbergasted. It was a salmon, a rainbow trout, and a small halibut all fighting over the same worm. She worm was already sucked up, but they couldn't get un-tangled. She removed the hook and set them in a black tub, snapping up the lid and wiping her hands. She had a huge smile on her face when she opened the door. She had caught so many fish, and she knew that day would be a great one. |
