The Wilderness of Cyphrus is an endless sea of tall grass that rolls just like the oceans themselves. Geysers kiss the sky with their steamy breath, and mysterious craters create microworlds all their own. But above all danger lives here in the tall grass in the form of fierce wild creatures; elegant serpents that swim through the land like whales through the ocean and fierce packs of glassbeaks that hunt in packs which are only kept at bay by fires. Traverse it carefully, with a guide if possible, for those that venture alone endanger themselves in countless ways.

The sun had finally broken through the clouds, allowing Flye to actually step foot outside of a traveler's tent, who had kindly let her stay until the rains died down. The sky looked calm enough for the time being, which meant departure would have to take place soon.

She was on her way to the Endykas encampment, hoping to find welcoming people, and a place to stay for a little while. She had traveled all over Sylira with no avail, and thought she might try her luck in the Cyphrus.

Walking over to a large tree, she saw many horses tied to posts, waiting for their owners to awaken. It was still quite early, but soon the Trader's route would be open, and people would be leaving in groups to travel the safest path across the sea of grass together. She just had to wait for a group to form, and leave with them. Then she could be on her way to her future.

Mokin opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was the leaves of the tree he was lying under. Raindrops were dripping gently from the leaves. The sun had finally shown its face again. He lay under his comfortable sleeping skin, well-hidden amongst the roots of the tree.

He looked to the side, seeing his trusted friend Bofap, the horse standing and still asleep. There was no better friend than this steed. For as long as he could remember, the older warriors of his clan had taunted and mocked him. Even as he had completed his test of manhood, they still seemed to disrespect him. Whether it was his short height, clumsiness on a horse or lack of womanly company they had always managed to find something on him. This had made Mokin bitter, and he would be delighted to ride away instead of meeting his fellow warriors of the Diamond clan on the trade route. If only he dared. He dreaded the loneliness. At least negative attention was better than nothing at all.

As he took his time to muster the will to get up from his comfortable position, someone stepped on his leg. Mokin let out a startled groan, as he saw a woman standing tall above him. Perhaps he had been too well covered by his skin.

Flye's eyes widened startled. She stepped back quickly from the noise, but when she saw nothing but horses before her, she looked down. Her eyes fell upon a man who had been laying there, concealed by an animal skin. She stared at him for a long time, before finally speaking. "Um...Excuse me sir, but...what are you doing down there?"

What are you doing down there?

Ripped out of the lullaby of sleep, he was now very awake with shock and bewilderment.
The Drykan lay stiffly, out of his wits what action to take. She just kept staring at him as if he was a deformed cripple. He finally scurried backwards, getting out of the skin.

Mokin sprawled to his feet, his bare back against the tree as he looked at Flye. She kept looking at him. She was beautiful. Which only made this situation that more awkward and dangerous. His nerves were slowly recovering again, as he scratched his head.

"Sleeping." he replied, regretting his blunt answer almost instantly. As he scratched his head his fingers caught hold of something else than hair, he lowered his hand infront of him only to see a fat flea between his fingertips. He had lost focus of the situation and threw it over his shoulder, unable to meet her gaze again without averting his eyes.

"What are you, doing here?" he managed to ask. For some strange reason, he felt it almost criminal looking at this woman. Stunning as she was, she seemed a bit exotic too. Definitely different from the women of his tribe, and even with them he had troubles with his shyness.

Flye eyed him, curious about his inability to look her in the eye. She turned her head the right a bit, a small smile slowly starting to form on her lips. "I'm here to travel, sir."

In the background, the sounds of the camper's awakening and leaving their tents was heard. Flye felt her ears twitch a bit. She glanced around, being over alert as she was, before looking back to the man.

"You wouldn't happen to know when the next group leaves, would you? I've been here for almost two days now and still no one has departed." She let her arms fall behind her back, and turned to the side to examin the going ons of everyone around her.

Mokin picked up his spear, directing his attention away from her again as he felt terribly affected by her presence.

"In few hour." he said quietly, as he bend down to take up the skin as well, slinging it over his shoulder.

"I am leaving now." his common was not too good, but at least he believed himself to be understandable - hopefully. He strode with long steps past her, feeling more comfortable with gaining some distance. Then he stopped in his tracks, about two-three yards from her. What if no-one else would take her with them? She seemed eager to accompany someone. Could he just leave her alone like that? He turned slightly to look at her.

"Follow if you want." A light frown was on his face, with a tone of hesitation in his words.

Aiven sent him a bright smile, and quickly walked up to him, but soon a frown settled on her lips. "Um, just us? Shouldn't we wait for others? Isn't it dangerous for small groups?" She was full of questions. She stared at him intently with curious golden eyes. She softly bit her lip, and looked around once more to see how the camp was advancing.

"I've heard a lot about the Sea of Grass. How dangerous it is." She brought her gaze to settle back on his. "I'm not a very skilled fighter, and I worry."

Mokin pointed outward, in the general direction of where they were to go.
"My clansmen meet us. We ride to them." he said, as he trodded over to his horse and gave it a rough clap. Its eyes sprang open, giving a short and disgruntled whinny. Mokin stroke its mane in reconcilliation, letting the strong, brown horse take its time to recover from sleep.

"Bofap can carry two." he turned to Flye, gazing at her suggestively. It did not seem like she had a horse with her. And he knew it would be a long trip to take on foot.

Flye felt annoyance flit across her emotions when she saw the way the man awakened his horse, but she knew it would do no good to argue. She let the feeling pass over her mind, and walked over to the horse, smiling at it, and stroking the side of it's snout. "I don't normally ride horses, but Endrykas is very far away...so...I guess I can make an exception." She turned to smile at the man in agreement, hands still lightly carressing the horse.

Mokin peered at the woman. She did not go by horse? This seemed very strange to him. He could barely imagine how anyone could travel here without a horse. Perhaps there is more to this one than meets the eye, he thought. He mounted his horse, then offered her a hand for her to swing up behind him.
