Basic Statistics

Race: Kelvic (Domestic House cat, gray)
Birthday & Age : 13th of Fall, 505; 4 years of age.
Gender: Female

Physical Description
Deirdre stands at approximately 5'6", and weighs approximately 117 pounds. She is short for a Kelvic, but not the shortest by a bit. In sync with her feline form, Deirdre has slitted silvery eyes and limbs that are a bit too frail for a normal human. Other than that, Deirdre looks like normal. Her facial features are known to very few people, for whenever she is not impersonating someone, she wears her mask (elaborated upon later). Her body structure is very delicate, due to both her small stature and feline attributes.

Character Concept
Deirdre is an information dealer, a thief of secrets, and a saboteur. She is proficient in many aspects of skullduggery and thievery, taking advantage of her small cat form to not only heighten her senses but allow her to go places a human cannot. Although she has many dealings with the underworld, Deirdre does not enjoy combat, and would rather avoid it if at all necessary.

Deirdre is a good friend, if one can manage to earn her trust. She does not respect others privacy though, not even close ones. While growing up, she would break into her family's friends houses and leave gifts. As well as not acknowledging personal bounds, she is very subdued around strangers. Often times this translates as arrogance, but it could not be further from the truth. More often than not, Deirdre would rather be thinking about other people than herself.

Her paranoia about trusting people comes naturally with her line of work, but the habit was definitely fueled by her upraising. As well as having a hard time trusting others, she has a healthy fear of others knowing her true identity. Since her departure from her childhood estate, she has tried to bury her past using whatever means necessary. Over the years her fear has matured into a slight phobia, driving her to wear a mask whenever she is not impersonating another (while in the act of impersonation, her appearance is often altered, but she does not have the funds to afford constant alteration of her appearance). Though, when she is playing another's role, her anxiety is heightened.

Character History

Deirdre was bought as an infant by a wealthy Syliran family as a servant/pet for their adolescent child Belenos. The two spent the first few months doing everything from lessons to chores as a pair. When Belenos was sixteen (Deirdre was nearing half a year of age now), they began experimenting with the new freedoms their parents granted them. Often the two would venture into Syliras unaccompanied and cause all manner of mischief. At first it would be simple crimes, where Deirdre would morph to her cat form, enter a house, and open it from the inside. Over the next few months they continued stealing petty objects for the thrill.

Although there were side effects, due to the nature of Deirdre's ability to morph, Belenos often saw her without clothing. Since they began their crime spree Belenos had begun harboring what he thought was love for her, or to a better educated person, lust. All these emotions climaxed during the winter of his 16th year, when Belenos attempted to rape Deirdre. Of course the experience was absolutely traumatic to Deirdre, and she fled the day after the occurrence. Belenos pursued her, not about to let her take the promise of this new found experience away from him. The chase led to the Gareth's Estate, a family friend of the two. Deirdre holed up inside the estate, having told the Gareth's of what Belenos had done to her, they tucked her away and sent the head of the house to await Belenos' arrival. When Belenos himself walked upon the estate, he met with the patriarch of the Gareths, and was promptly turned away under pain of arrest.

Deirdre stayed with the Gareth's for the next week, and according to their contacts Belenos had been evicted upon return to his parent's estate. But the vindictive teenager returned under the cover of night. Belenos barricaded the doors and lit fire to the sleeping estate. The only person who walked out of that house alive was Deirdre; thanks to her ability to turn into a cat, she slipped through a window to safety. With nowhere to go and no one to turn to, Deirdre fled the city of Syliras.

Over the next month she survived by stealing from the various caravans on the sea of grass, up until she happened upon Lavrentios Gavriil. When the two met she had been attempting to steal some of his trade goods, of which there precious few. Upon reaching into under his tarp, Lavrentios surprised Deirdre and cracked her over the head with his quarterstaff. Now, Lavrentios did not hesitate to defend his cargo but he was a moral person. He refused to leave or kill Deirdre, instead laying her down in his cargo bed and taking the young girl with him. Lavrentios was a native of Endrykas as well as an alchemist, returning to the moving city after making a run to Syliras for commodities.

Lavrentios adopted Deirdre after listening to her short but tumultuous life story, finding that he did not have the heart to cast her out. For the three leading up to the present, Deirdre worked with Lavrentios in Endrykas, collecting ingredients for him as well as aiding the philtering process. Although he was a skilled alchemist, Lavrentios' tent was always on the borders of Endrykas, and not frequently visited. As a result, Deirdre constantly went behind her adopted fathers back and stole to help support their makeshift family. This habit kept up until Deirdre was caught yet again, this time by a not so sympathetic mercenary. The man demanded compensation of Lavrentios for the affront, and even entered his tent and destroyed most of his equipment upon Gavriil's refusal.

Deirdre felt compelled to fix the situation, so she began looking for ways to deal with the upset mercenary. Once more she trespassed in his tent, there she found an exorbitant sum of mizas stashed in a cloth sack. It was obvious that no mercenary could acquire so much money, not even from saving them for the entirety of his career. Thus Deirdre began to investigate his background, as it turns out the mercenary had recently been employed by a wealthy Syliran merchant to guard a caravan. It also happens that the merchant had sent out a plea to the populace of Endrykas for his gold to be returned. It was not long before Deirdre had cornered the mercenary with the threat of revealing his extortion to the merchant. Longer story short Deirdre discovered just how powerful information was, and in the following two years has worked with many means of gathering more information, while simultaneously working to eliminate all possible information available about her.

One year after the incident with the mercenary, Lavrentios was slain on a component run to Sylaris. Deirdre inherited his tent, but sold off his equipment for a small sum of gold mizas.
