From her Vantha father Aubrey inherited not only her dreamy mood changing eyes, which usually sparkle in a luminous gold, but her black wavy hair, which falls in big and always delicately combed curls around her face. Her hair is usually put to one side to showcase Aubrey’s neckline, but is also something she never felt comfortable with. When Syna’s shine kisses her hair or Leth’s glow touches her streaks, there is nothing Aubrey can do to hide the emerald and turquoise shades of the Aurora. For years she dyed her hair in reddish tones to cover her glowing highlights with rich hues opposite of the color spectrum to neutralize one of the features that give away her mixed race, for which she was often times bullied or frowned upon. With age and distance from both her parents and her birthplace Ahnatep she found confidence and liking in her natural black hair color as the shimmering highlights set her apart from her peers and grant her certain uniqueness in her professional environment as an artist.
ImageHer petite figure with her gilded skin is very similar to her mothers and with 5’7 in height and 120 in weight, she does resemble her very much. Unlike her mother, who has four arms, Aubrey has only two of course. A black flower tattoo graces her inner wrist and is a symbol for her bond with her performance group, but it is usually hidden under thick glittering bangles. Aubrey loves jewelry and although her epharian heritage would not let her wear all the extravagant necklaces and rings she wants to wear, because she is not of important rank, her artistic nature quickly overcame these boundaries and convinced her that looking pretty is more important than hierarchical conformity. Appreciating her roots, she is very fond of makeup and uses elaborate techniques and luxurious colors for her performances, while she prefers subtle coal shades around her eyes off stage. Aubrey preferably wears dresses or sleeveless robes, the more exquisite the fabric the better.

Struggling with her identity of being mixed all her life long, Aubrey has become somewhat accustomed to the fact she’s not fitting in in either society. While she grew up with her mother in Ahnatep she never felt equal or accepted. Her missing limbs, her different eyes and hair always made her the “odd one”. Efforts to look like other Eupharian girls were never satisfying and Aubrey soon got fed up with the social standards as they marginalized her. Her search of an alternative lifestyle soon drove her into artistry’s arms. Aubrey took first steps as an actress, poet and singer to express her unconventional ways, but did not find acclaim or success. Her parents, primarily her father wanted her to marry young, as it is common among Vantha people, but Aubrey had a mind of her own. She distanced herself from her parents and joined a wandering group of performers and vagabonds. Her new circle soon became a substitute for her family and in the diversity she finally felt some acceptance. Occasional thievery and other minor illegal activities quickly became part of Aubrey’s daily routine, as did starving herself and an increasing use of drugs, primarily mushrooms or herbs, in a time of creative blockage. With seemingly new visions and inspiration Aubrey continued striving for artistic fulfillment. Soon she realized she could not function as well without drugs in her system as with them and is now depending on increasingly stronger doses. She eventually left her initial group and joined a small circus ensemble. She also made her way to the theater stages in the bigger cities, whenever she had the opportunity. Aubrey was slowly building fame and found herself craving for more material fulfillment. Pretty things like dresses, jewelry, accessories and perfumes led her to do things she was not always proud of. It wasn’t uncommon that Aubrey would give her body to men she did not love or even find attractive just for gifts or to finance her extravagant lifestyle which slowly lost its bohemian roots.
Lust is not important to her, because she hasn’t really experienced it yet. In Aubrey’s perception her being an artist is true pleasure. Love is a word she does not use. She has never been in love, but many men have told her they loved her. Aubrey has no inhibitions to give herself physically to somebody else, but never dared to let someone in her heart or tie a deeper emotional connection, not even with her friends from the circus group. Even though she can be very dramatic and eccentric, Aubrey has a calm and sweet facade. When she has set her mind to something she will not stop until she reaches a satisfying result and usually knows very well how to treat people to get what she wants. Her moral standards are disturbed, because she does not apply the same standards to herself, as she does to others and thus making her a hypocrite. Aubrey steals from others or manipulates them and would always judge somebody else for it, yet still continue to do so herself. When it comes to artistic means Aubrey is very devoted and will give her all if necessary to achieve whatever has to be achieved. Other people’s problems however are not of her concern. She is neither compassionate nor interested, but will probably pretend to care and then demand attention regarding her own issues.

ImageA small blue trailer, with one window to the side and one in the front, is where Aubrey stays when she is not performing. Like the other caravans of the gypsy group it’s a moving home and usually pulled by one or two horses or other animals when the circus is traveling. Originally owned by someone else, Aubrey was lucky to get to live in this trailer when an acrobat left the group and offered his home to her.
Image Since then she filled the place with all her belongings and decorated her small living space to the best of her abilities. Her bed is cluttered with pillows and fancy blankets, made of different fabrics from all the places she already visited. A simple wicker chair next to her mirror and a small stool are the only places to sit and other than two or three dressers and a cabinet there isn’t much more room left to hold more than three people inside at once. Her clothes, costumes, makeup, hats and jewelry are scattered in dozens of little boxes (some of them locked) or just lying around or hanging somewhere. Next to the door there are usually a couple of fresh flowers placed in vases and little boxes of sweetmeats and chocolates, thank-yous for performances or gifts from men or even fans.
