Basic Information

Race: Vantha
Birthday & Age : Season of Winter, Day 6, 484 AV
Gender: Male


Physical Description

Kadurro's hair is a deep black with dark violet highlights that are only noticeable at a glance, typical of most Vantha. However, he keeps his hair cut short and his skin is more fair than other Vantha. He stands at a rather normal 5'7" and a light 140 lbs. Despite being in his mid-twenties, his body is in the same shape it was when he was still in his late teens; he keeps himself very healthy. His eyes are of typical Vantha fare, changing with his mood.

Character Concept

Kadurro never likes to see anyone get hurt physically, and will always try to find a diplomatic solution to a problem if possible. Influencing someone's mind in order to get what he wants, however, is perfectly acceptable to him. He lives from day to day off of the charity of others, and this nature, bred into him in his Hold, allows him to trust even the most suspicious of acquaintances instantly. Of course, he is extremely wary of the people he trusts, lest the swindler get swindled.

Character History

Born and raised in the Hold of Iceglaze, he quickly found out that he was not a suitable hunter, and decided to settle on becoming a teller of tales, instead.

When he was 17 years old, he became acquainted with a huntress named Krylla. Kadurro saw a certain majesty in her beauty and her strength, and not soon after, they became enamored with eachother. When Krylla turned 16, Kadurro approached her parents with a bride price of beautiful furs that his friends had helped him put together from many seals, and even a polar bear that had attacked them during the hunt. Unfortunately, Krylla's mother and father outright declined the bride price. Krylla was saddened, but Kadurro refused to give up. For the next two years, he saved up his Mizas and purchased numerous whale bone carvings from other Vantha, in an effort to win over Krylla's parents. When Kadurro, now 20 years old, approached Krylla's parents with the whale bone carvings, they laughed at him, telling him that they would never allow their daughter to marry anyone other than a strong hunter.

Kadurro, still determined to marry Krylla, attempted to become a hunter; however, he lacked the skill with a spear and the know-how that comes with being a hunter for most of one's life, and turned out to be a below-average hunter. Kadurro, now 21, and Krylla, now 19, both knew they were running out of time; Krylla would be married some time soon, or never marry at all. Kadurro attempted to reason with Krylla's parents one last time, with no bride price, and tried to explain to them that they were deeply in love, and that they would be very happy together. However, in a cruel twist of fate, a strong hunter from another Hold had been staying as their visitor, and Krylla's parents planned to marry Krylla to him.

Torn apart by grief, he decided to simply lay out in the snow and stare up at the aurora until he died. His slow suicide was halted, however, by the appearance of Krylla, who had been worried about him and had come to find him. Krylla felt that their failed marriage was somehow her fault, and Kadurro was inspired by her unhappiness to propose a run-away marriage. Krylla had to decline, however, as hunting in the north was the only thing she knew how to do, and living in their Hold required that tradition be followed. Instead, she gave him a small violin that she had been saving for their wedding day which would never arrive. Krylla told him to leave the Hold and find new happiness for the both of them. They shared one last kiss, and then they went their separate ways. Kadurro, honoring Krylla's final request, abandoned his Hold name, left the Hold, and ventured southeast.

It has been four years since then. Kadurro has changed from a kind teller of tales into a snarky conman, doing what he pleases whenever possible. He now finds himself in Syliras, where every day a new adventure awaits him. He has not forgotten Krylla, but he has no plans of ever returning to the north, and true to his word, he strives to find happiness in everything he does.

Growing up as a storyteller in a Hold has given basic knowledge of some of the great Vantha hunters and their exploits.

Lore of the Merchant Roads
Travelling with merchants along the few highways throughout Mizahar has provided a truly basic knowledge of the geography of the continent. While the wilderness is still full of the unknown, travel along the merchant roads is something that has become almost second-nature.
