"I have never really tried forming anything other than the most basic of shapes, to be honest... the thought of using the magic for anything other than as a weapon never crossed my mind. I learned reimancy solely as a tool for revenge..." Liam paused, considering what he wanted to do. This experience, as well as past experiences, was making him doubt himself. He had chosen not to pass on for the sole purpose of vengeance... but vengeance was the reason he was killed. Vengeance had driven so much of his life, how could continuing to follow it lead to anything good. Reaver had a passion for learning that Liam did not share. He only wanted to learn to fuel his quest for revenge, but the Nuit was curious and wanted to try things Liam had never considered. "No," he sighed, "I could learn much more your way than I could ever hope to my way. I think our lesson is over now. You know all the basics, and you are already thinking of things I never even dreamed of. I wish you the best of luck, Reaver. I truly believe you will become a great mage." In their short time together he had learned much from the Nuit, who like him had chosen not to die. But Reaver appeared to be on no quest for revenge, no journey of hate, but simply wanted to exist. Liam did not want to exist, he simply felt he had to. But did he really? Recalling the words of the spiritist who had so selflessly allowed him to use her to train, Should you not, simply, accept the fact that you have informed one of the living of what the stryfe and Rhysol are, empowered them, and move on? Her words were true. Truer than anything Liam had ever believed. "Reaver, I thank you for this chance to pass on my knowledge. You, and others, all have confirmed what I think I always knew. May I offer you a piece of advice? Beware the god Rhysol. I do not mean simply be afraid of him, as so many are. But if he ever sets his sights on you, you will never be the same again." Liam paused, considering something for a moment. "Also, the spiritist I spoke of earlier is named Aello. Though be careful in approaching her, she is slow to trust. But you could learn much from her and she from you. ...goodbye now." Liam wasn't sure what he was supposed to do. How does one pass on? Was there some method he was supposed to know, or did he just think, Okay.. I'm done now. Let's go. Suddenly Liam felt something he had never felt before as a ghost, warmth. Warmth, and joy, and hope, and an overpowering sense of right. It was the greatest feeling in the world to him. For Reaver, he would see Liam begin to glow, as shining speckles of golden light danced across the ghosts body. And when Liam was covered in the light he simply blew away in the wind. The light faded and the ghost was gone, rejoined with the cycle to one day live again. OOCSorry for cutting the thread off like this. I wanted to make sure you got to learn all the basics before I did this.. but I am retiring this account. It was fun threading with you, and again sorry for ending it. Hope you had fun too. ..um.. I guess make a final post, and then we'll see about getting this thing graded. |
