24th Day of Fall, 511 AV
In the depths of the kitchen she had all her ingredients layed out in a specific order. To the side of her so called mess was a small book that stored recipes that her mother passed onto her as a Yasi.

In the kitchen the Avora had all her ingredients layed out on the counter. She began to check if she had everything by looking in the book to the side of her. Sian wanted to make her friends happy by making them a small cake as a treat from her to them. It was little things like this that brought her pure comfort because she was doing something for the well being of others of course. The Avora wasn't exactly known personally to cook but she was, after all she did get it from her mother. What was the worst that could happen? ~~~~~ After a few hours everything was complete and there was her cake baking waiting to be decorated. Today she decided that she'd make a cheese cake with a fruit dressing over it, therefore it was healthy but still ravishing. Sian took the cake out of the oven quickly, placing it onto the counter so she could begin her work. Or more or less the finishing touches of her master piece. Suddenly, she felt a small smile submerge from her pale face. Normally, she was known to be alone of course because nobody exactly accepted her in anyway. Well, it was that no one exactly new her so she just kept herself to being alone. And of course when she meant friends, it was that she gave it to Eoin to give to someone else to deliver to Sira, Addy, or whoever she could think of. As her thoughts submerged now and then she continued the details of the cake, putting the small strawberries giving it a proper coating. Presentation was everything and she couldn't help but girl it up a little bit.

After the long hard work, she placed the cake on the counter then put a cover over it so no one would touch or at least eat it. She was rather wary about people messing with her things and she wasn't going to allow anyone to take anything from her. The Avora looked around to her mess, a dangle of sweat dripping from her brow. She had a lot of work to do and had to start now before anything got out of hand. She ran to get a rag and a bucket of water. The Avora began to clean the counters, pack things away, and put everything back the way she found it. Her book in her leather pouch, the food in the storage closet, and the mess in the garbage. Yes, hard work did take a lot of time and effort but after all it was worth it. Her cake was beautiful because the texture was soft and fluffy, painted vanilla. The icing was a light transparent pink coating topping it with a few strawberries to make the final touches. She had to admit the presentation did look good, but did it taste good? She had no clue, she was no chef but she knew who was. No.. She couldn't disturb him, she was at the second high caste in Wind Reach of course he had to listen to her. He was just like her, no.. She couldn't. She wasn't worth his time. Sian began to question herself, debating if to disturb Eoin or not. Her decision was not to because he didn't know who she was for and second of all he didn't care about her anyways. Like any other person in Wind Reach, she assumed that no one liked her. But truth was, she wasn't the most common in Wind Reach. She liked to play the game alone, as a loner she learned a lot but lacked Socialization. Therefore whenever she tried to be as charismatic as she could, of course she'd debate herself on what to do. She appeared rather stupid to hold back what she truly was, but she couldn't help what she was. Only because almost everyone was at the stage at some point in their life, therefore who was there to judge her?

No one of course because she was a lonely independent women. Of course they could judge her, wow she was stupid. "Why do I bother talking to myself when I can be charismatic just like my mother." She mumbled to herself. In her life she was always compared to her mother because well she was just always one step ahead of her. This aggravated the Avora very much therefore she always tried to be better than her. She failed at first but then her skills excelled and passed her mother. After all, she was better than her mother now and basically she had outranked her. Luckily, she left before anything could get extremely out of hand. In fact, her mother may have just stormed out of Wind Reach and end up never coming back. Probably the best day of her life but on the other hand she had to accept that her mother was trying to give her the best. It wasn't her fault that she was better than her own dear daughter. Life has choices and it won't always come out the way you want it too. But sometimes it was just for the best. Suddenly, she heard the sound of something breaking. Her neck snapped towards the door, empty and open. The dim lighting shining on the stone of the mountain. "Hello? Is anyone there?" She called out to whatever was there. Her senses were never wrong, unless she became stupid then she would just have been known for that. The Avora made her way to the door, peering out the door and then looking around. A red head, it was one of her race... That meant it could have been a chef or something that was reading her mind or something. She didn't know... "Don't be afraid... You can talk to me... I won't bite..."She said in a calm tone, but truthfully she was just teasing whatever it was. Therefore she lead whatever was in the area.

Alyeah slunk into the kitchens worse for wear. Her body still ached from the previous night, but with the effects of the Apple Sauce lingering in her bloodstream, she was able to pull herself together enough to get to work—late. She padded barefoot across the floor of the massive eating area, wincing at the painful blister on the bottom of her foot. A few Endals were scattered around the room at stone tables, sitting on comfortable leathers, chatting with each other. The large dining room buzzed with energy. Alyeah tucked her sore body into itself, willing herself to be small and melt into the glistening walls as she snuck across the floor. The smell of food was making her stomach grumble, shaking her concentration.

As she passed by the main kitchens, the familiar clatter of hard-working chefs busily preparing the days meals, set her on edge a little. Chef Davoid was preoccupied shouting out orders to them. Thankfully, he had his back to the hallway so she didn’t linger. She left him to his clanking plates and hot grills, ducking around the intense heat that spilled out of the room.

The washroom was just past the main kitchens. It was her eighth day in there and the smell of lye as she neared it, wasn’t a welcome one to her already sore nose. Soon the bleeds would start. She sighed. Her hands had begun burning two days before. In a few more days, they’d be cracked and she wouldn’t be able to wash dishes anymore until they healed, unless she was willing to risk infection and pain.

She paused outside the entrance. Already late for work, stalling could get her fired, or worse, land her in hot water with Chef Davoid, but she was drawn dangerously down the hall by the lingering scent of vanilla in the air, coming from the private kitchen. It was such a rare thing. Dek’s never got the treat of indulging in dessert and Alyeah was no exception. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d eaten if not for the constant growling in her stomach, let alone eating something as lovely as whatever she was smelling down the hall. The smell was such sharp contrast to intensity of the lye. She found herself following her stomach instead of her mind.

The chef is probably already gone. Just one sniff. One look. Then I’ll leave. No one will even know.

There was no one outside the kitchen. No one in the hallway. She ducked quickly around the corner, coming into the room. As she did, her tattered lontev caught on a glass jar sitting on the counter next to the door. The jar crashed to the ground and shattered. She cursed to herself.

“Hello? Is anyone there?” Alyeah heard a woman calling to her from inside the kitchen. She was in big trouble. Her body would probably shatter like the jar if she endured another beating today.

She twisted at the fabric of her lontev and seriously considered running away, but if she did and they found out she’d broken the expensive-looking glasswork, she’d be in even more trouble. What else could she do?

Before she could answer the question in her mind, the woman’s soft voice echoed in the room again. “Don’t be afraid. You can talk to me. I won’t bite…”

Alyeah stepped out of the shadows and into the brightly lit room, still wringing the edges of her lontev.

“Just another lowly Dek, Miss. Sorry. I’ll clean this up and get out of your way.”

The Avora stared at the so called Dek with quirky eyes in the shimmering sunlight. "Aren't you a Chiet?" She cocked her head at her. After all she knew she worked in the kitchen, therefore making her a Dek.

In fact, she probably had the whole caste ranking wrong. Poor thing. She felt so sorry for her. One woman who thought she was a low life, happened to be a commoner. How strange.

"Let me help you." She bent down and took up the odds and ends, placing them quickly in the garbage. She assured the girl that she was safe and she didn't need to worry. But her only true question was why this Chiet or Dek was interrogating her business?

"So what brings you here?" She arched one brow. Sian didn't want to start off being too straight forward. The Avora thought that she should start off easy then merge into the issue. A chiet in a kitchen an Avora was in, one of the second highest caste's with one of the third highest. Sian sighed, allowing her mind to focus on one single thought.

Something she didn't ever do very often. Of course from time to time she was rather flustered due to so much going on. Life got the best of her in her mind, leaving her thoughts jumbled into a piece of dirt.

Anyways. She changed her subject quickly after her response to the strange woman. Then thought, she shouldn't judge somebody before she knew them. Maybe she should invite her over for dinner or something.

"Miss Alyeah... Would you like to join me to grab a bite at my room?"She asked her quickly. Hoping for a positive answer because she loved company. Sian totally forgot about how most caste's kept to each other and never really mixed. At least that was what she thought.
