Cookies and Scream

Image

In the center of two, large glass windows, which allows all passerby to see inside, rests a single, dark wood door. Most of the time, a young gentleman, or perhaps a ghost will stand outside this door, and open it for anyone still living, who wishes to make his or her way inside. Once past the door, and the honorary gatekeeper, one will find themselves in a spacious, rectangular shaped room. A cafe with high ceilings and glass windows along most of the walls. The one crafted entirely of wood, however, holds no windows. Instead, pushed a few feet in front of it, is a large glass cabinet, which displays the day's wares. Resting next to it, is a simple counter to take orders, and serve coffee and tea from.

As the patrons of the store eat and drink merrily, they may rest their tired souls upon a simple, wooden chair. The back of which is shaped like a beating heart. The chairs may be pulled into small, circular tables, which tend to comfortably hold no more than three or four people at a time. Hovering above them, and scattered around them and the rest of the institution, are glass orbs of deep reds, oranges and yellows. They float, and glow like the sun, remaining aloft by the grace of some unknown magic. It is only by their light that patrons may see, for the windows, surprisingly, let nothing else in, despite their clear nature.

It is for this reason, and for this reason only, that many patrons claim that the place is somewhat, spooky. Others detest it simply because you must place an order for certain items long in advance, just to be certain that it is in stock. For some ingredients are hard to come by. Some ingredients, only become available during specific seasons, making portions of the menu merely applicable for a small portion of the year.

Staff :
ImageMina Harper: Baker
Having studied under her mother, year after year, until the ripe old age of twenty-five, Mina is overjoyed that she now gets to create things on her own. That her mother has now moved on and is at peace, leaving Mina in charge of the bakery, and the goods it produces. Although still not as talented as her mother had once been, Mina is a rather skilled baker, who may often be found in the back of the store, whipping up another batch of some baked good. She thoroughly enjoys her work- the smell of cinnamon and sugar in the air, the aroma of freshly brewed tea and coffee, the taste of uncooked brownie batter on her tongue. Once easily distracted by the various stimuli, Mina has finally developed the ability to ignore them, with the exception of those times in which she tests her product, to make sure they're fit for her customer's consumption. She has thus, moved onto another sort of distraction: men. Reveling in the scent of their skin, the sound of their voice, the way their muscles ripple beneath their skin as she tends to her shop, and flirts openly with them. Sometimes offering them free samples of her cooking, in an attempt to win them over.

ImageSayuri Sanyu: Waitress
Sayuri, unlike Mina, detests her work. She would much rather be a part of Kristen's plays than a woman who waits on tables, and tidies up after patrons leave the bakery in a state of disarray. The issue, however, lies in her lack of acting skill; her continual date with rejection each time she tries for a part. This makes Sayuri somewhat bitter; at times, she has been known to take this out on the bakery's customers. At other times, she acts in an utterly rude manner toward them for other reasons. Despite her dislike for her job, and cold personality, Mina refuses to fire her, because she is one of the only maids who doesn't drop trays of food on a regular basis. Even though Sayuri hates her job with a fiery passion, she refuses to quit due to her need of a steady income.

Note: At any given time, a minimum of four spiritists are employed by the bakery in order to produce each grade of soulmist. They are almost never seen at the bakery however, for as soon as they have handed off their wares, they tend to go about their business.
