"It shouldn't be easy to be amazing. Then everything would be. It's the things you fight for and struggle with before earning that have the greatest worth. When something's difficult to come by, you'll do that much more to make sure it's even harder--or impossible-- to lose."

Rathe is dyslexic. His learning disability causes him to have trouble reading. He mixes up numbers and letters, or gets them backwards, so he doesn’t like books very much. Instead, he prefers the spoken words of storytelling. His love of words has also given him a passion for learning new languages, despite the difficulty for him.
Rathe’s early years were a dark and confusing time in his life. He grew up in Lhavit, unable to read, which prevented him from attending traditional schools like his friends. Because he couldn’t learn the way they did, he ended up on the long road to magic training instead of following in his parents footsteps as shop owners.
Now he spends most his time in the kitchen unwinding and cooking up new recipes. His entire collection is committed to memory due to his learning disability. He loves what he does, but he’ll never stop dreaming about being something more.
