Turning away from her hand at first he then stopped struggling and politely looked at her face. "Ah, yes, well, you are naked after all. It is a nipple distracting. Little!" He coughs several times and fills his water skins as quickly as he can. Mr. Pickles swoops in and attempts to swat playfully at her a fish in the water. It looks as though Sturlin is about to choke on his own tongue with embarrassment.

"Ah, not fevered at all. Don't worry, I'll be fine," he muttered to her. This was just ridiculous. He needed to get hold of himself. As he dipped his hands into the water he firmly closed his eyes and sought his center so that he could get that charming figure out of his mind. His mind flitted from subject to subject, but if she did not interrupt he would calm within minutes. If she did interrupt, that was a different story.

A smile blossomed as he got flustered again, and she laughed as she released him to splash more water on his face. "Ah! You find my body attractive," she said sagely, nodding like any wisewoman - though she blushed a little at the flattery. No man had ever really reacted that way, so she had no experience with what it could mean.

"My apologies," she chuckled, sliding back again to dunk her hair underwater. "I'll clothe myself again in a moment. I would have liked to wash my dress too, but I don't want to be a bother," she sighed, as if she would like to be a bother but he'd been nice so far so she was trying.

"It is quite alright. You, ah, you could wash your dress. I need to tend Francis in any case." He offered her a red, shaky smile and wiped some water from his face as he went to tend to the horse who was nose deep in water and slurping up whatever he could get from the stream. In spite of the fact that the horse did not really need the attention at the moment Sturlin ran his fingers through Francis' mane and stroked his back soothingly. He was not avoiding Miharu, he was just politely averting his gaze from her nude body.

"Just my luck, isn't that right Francis? Only woman to get naked around me in years does it on accident." His voice calms as he mutters calmly into the horse's ear with his deep baritone voice. Francis nickered and tossed his head, almost in agreement, before settling down and allowing the hunter to rest his forehead against the smooth fur.

There was a bit more splashing as she retrieved her dress and scrubbed out the last of the bloodstains from it, and she hummed a bit of the tune he'd sang earlier - the siren's song that had called her to his camp.

"If it's easier, I can change form," she called over to him with a laugh. "I suppose you wouldn't mind a naked animal as much as a naked woman," she said, and he could practically hear her rolling her eyes.

When she began humming he found himself humming along with her. That song was soothing and pleasant. Without thinking he looked over his shoulder and offered her a smile. Then his eyes snapped back toward the horse and he sighed softly. However she considered her body, he found it more than a little distracting to have it flaunted in the stream only a few feet behind him. "Well, it would be a little less distracting. Do you consider it silly?"

"Of course it's silly," she said, giggling as he smiled over at her and then snapped his attention back around. "You don't put a dress on your horse, do you? Or pants on Mr. Pickles? Clothing makes no sense. A cloak in winter, that I can understand, but the rest? It's just restraining, and for no reason. You live out here alone, what need have you of clothes?" she chuckled.

She stood up from the stream, twisting the last of the water from her toga and padding over behind him. "But I can change if you like. You'll just have to carry my dress," she chuckled. Perhaps she was teasing him a little, but there was no cruelty in it, any more than his trying of her patience had been cruel earlier.

"Well, if I hadn't been wearing heavy leathers when this happened," he said as he gestured at the mangled left side of his face, "I'd be missing several parts I would lament not having. Though I can see your point. Perhaps clothing is originally a human conceit." With a bit of sarcasm in his voice he said, "Though now it sounds like you're trying to get me naked."

His back stiffened a bit when he heard her padding up behind him, and he felt that strange perking of his ears that happened sometimes when he was straining very hard to determine a sound. Peeking over his shoulder he held out a hand for her dress, in case she decided that she would like to change after all. "I've never personally known someone who could do that."

She giggled a little as she handed him the dress, a mischievous smile tilting her lips. "Well, now you have," she drawled.

Even as he watched, Miharu disappeared in a flash of light - spinning, sparkling white light as her every cell in her body had been transmuted to sunlight - and the next eyeblink reformed into her other form.

A silken, silver wolf, standing three feet high at the shoulder. The fur at the tips of her ears was jet black, and trailed down her shoulders to trip down the line of her spine.

She a snort and nudged him in the hip with a wet nose, then lolled her tongue out in a wolfish grin.

A large portion of the tension went right out of him when she changed. It was interesting to watch, as he'd never seen a kelvic do such in person. Also, though it was a fine distinction to make considering her sentience, now that she was an animal he was more at ease in her presence. Francis let out a whinny and and snort, moving away from her a few more steps, but did not show any signs of bolting.

"Could I touch your fur?" Sturlin asked after looking to his horse to make sure that his immediate attention was not needed there. The etiquette of petting a kelvic had never been discussed with him and he was curious as to whether it was rude or not. She was a very majestic animal. As a hunter he also had a professional admiration of the wolf.

Crouching in front of her he shifted his weight so that his elbows were on his knees. He watched her as Mr. Pickles walked up and rubbed the side of his face against her leg while purring ecstatically. The hunter reached out slowly and allowed her body language to give or deny him permission.

Miharu licked at her muzzle and nodded at the question, still able to understand even if a wolf's tongue wouldn't form words.

When he crouched down, it left her a head taller than him, and she gave another wolfish grin before turning a little to rub her head under his hand. Her fur was still damp, as her skin had been, and she simply sat down close to him and went about licking Mr. Pickles from ears to haunches, as the bath he'd given himself earlier just wouldn't do.
