Aeryna blinked, having not expected the words that came out of his mouth in response to her tease, and laughed, a faint tinge of colour in her cheeks at his words as she gave a small shake of her head, her lips curving up.

She watched him intently when his eyes closed. He seemed to be...meditating. It was odd, and she assumed by it that whatever was causing him such pain and discomfort was mostly, if not entirely, in his head.

When he told her his age, how long he'd been a slave and how long he'd been free, she quickly did some calculations, her finger tracing patterns on the table as she subtracted. When she reached the answer, a small gleam of sadness entered her eyes.

"Four years old," she said softly, watching him. What a life he must have lived, she mused. No wonder he seemed to be in pain.

She watched him slump, but when she mentioned Wrenmae, he suddenly perked up again, interest entering his eyes, and she cursed mentally. Of course he'd be interest, Wrenmae had set the crowd on him.

"Dagger?" She paused, tilting her head, and frowned, as if thinking back. She had to be very careful about what she said now. She was hardly going to give Wrenmae up to Ximal.

If not for personal like for the man, for the fact that Wrenmae likely wouldn't be happy with her if she set Ximal on his trail, and with how eccentric he was, well...Not what Aeryna wanted.

"I'm sorry," She finally said, her voice and tone apologetic. "I don't remember. I mean, friend's a bit of a strong word for him in the first place..." She trailed off, shrugging.

"I've really only met him once or twice before. I just couldn't help but say hi when I noticed him, you know?" She smiled sheepishly. Her words weren't entirely a lie, though they weren't exactly truthful, either.

Noticing the small rise of colour in her face Xi smiled with some what of a cheeky but charming air about him. watching her trace out the answer to his question on the table, he watched her doing the math as well. After all he had to start somewhere. Then she spoke about his age. With someing of a fleck of depression in his face he replied. "Yeah that's correct. i started at age four, i only escaped when i was twenty. It wasn't the most pleasant of experiences, but it was better than living on the streets at that age. Even if i was beaten daily, and branded...But that's a different story for another time." Xi cocked his head to the side and looked at her as she started to recant things. In her eyes he could see it all. Though he didn't let on even when she said she didn't know. She may not have been lying but she wasn't telling the truth from what he'd watched. Xi smiled as she spoke masking his disappointment. "well i only ask because i think i may have met him at the hot springs...Probably not in the best of circumstances mind you. he was there with a friend of his who was pointing a sword at me for an accident...But once again thats another story for another time." XI watched her speak slowly. He could feel liros tendrils and talons of fire climbing back into his head. Xi was now feeling the pain again but nowhere near as much.

As Xi watched her he couldn't help himself from paying her another compliment and smiling lightly. "I can see the flush in your face a little, it works well with your eyes." That was pathetic, let me out i'll show you how it's really done you pathetic petching moron. LET ME GET CONTROL. Xi fought back against liros tendrils of fire again. Though this time their fury was evident. This is what happened when Xi truied to play the smooth guy. And attempt to compliment. Hold up. I'm doing ths to try and tease the name out of her. Flattery, to achieve your ends...Your becoming more like me everyday... Dear gods he was right, Xi was falling closer to Xi every day, though hot becoming more like him, more and more of lIro's qualities, were falling through and sticking to Xi's manner. And Xi hated every single one of them...

"Nobody deserves that," Aeryna sighed, leaning back, rubbing a hand over her cheek. She didn't say anything when he dismissed the remarks about being beaten and branded.

Trying to shake the sadness she felt, she watched him tilt his head, feeling somewhat unsettled under his dark gaze, his eyes such a deep blue they seemed almost black. There was something behind his eyes, something she couldn't place, but that didn't seem entirely right.

Shaking off her thoughts as she had her momentary sorrow for Xi's past, she listened as he spoke. "An accident, hm?" She asked, lightly, but he dismissed his words as quickly as he had just mere moments ago.

They fell silent for a brooding moment, until a light smile curved Ximal's lips, as he eased the silence away with a compliment. She laughed, smiling, and lowered her oceanic eyes almost bashfully for a moment.

"You're sweet," She said, in a lightly teasing tone, with another soft laugh as she looked back up. Her smile faded somewhat as she noticed his jaw tighten with pain, and a frown curved her mouth.

"Xi, are you sure you're okay?" She asked, now clearly concerned. She could tell something was going on, but she had no idea what, and it bothered her somewhat. "Is there something going on?" Aeryna's voice was gentle, and just as curious as it was concerned. She had no trouble with prying.

She could feel Muir stirring restlessly on her lap, and absently soothed him by scratching behind his ear, though her eyes never left Ximal's face. There was something different about him, she decided. Something off.

Not realizing it, her brow furrowed as she looked at him, trying to place what was so different about him, but she couldn't.

Xi, listened to her lightly, she was at least honest and truthful in the fact of what she was saying with the comment she just made. Then she had a quizzical tone about her with her comment of an accident. Xi couldn't help but respond. "I accidentally spoke to a barbarians girl friend. If i'd of been any more lackadaisical with my tongue than i already am....Well i'd be shorter by a head, and not talking to your lovely self now." Xi let his lips curl up again into a smile, at her comment of his compliment. She dipped her eyes again still keeping them fixed with his. Her eyes sea blue, almost flowing with the will of water...But his eyes were fire cold harsh black blue fire. Xi listened to her speak to him asking if he was alright. If something was going on. He wast exactly going to spill about liro now was he? So on the spot he ended up comeoing up with some kind of explanation. "Honestly i'm fine, it's just it still hurts a bit where i got cut a couple days back, the day where i met you first?" Pulling up his sleeve he showed the main scar he was trying too and the myriad of older faded ones. He sighed as he rolled his sleeve down over his gauntlet again. Listening out he heard a commotion brewing. Thinking nothing of it he ignored it. Probably just a pair of drunken idiots fighting with each other. He paied it no mind until the fist hit him in the back of the head. He shot a look to the bar keep who merely nodded. Xi rose from his eat with the seal of approval and stood affronting the drunken idiots. "Would you three care to step outside i'd like to keep this place as intact as possible..."

One of the drunkard's looked at Xi spat and then threw a punch, but before it had even closed the gap Xi already had hold of his arm and thrwew him clean out the door. "I saked to taeke this out side..." The aura around Xi could be felt without even the slightest hit of auristics, the whole temperature of the room seemed to drop, feeling his steely gaze the other two rushed outside to help thier partner up. Xi spoke quietly with a steel edged voice. "This wont take long, feel free to watch." Xi headed out the door after them as the third member scrambled to regain his feet. "Who're you?" Xi simply glared at the thug who'd spoken. He was not in the mood for this...Not in the slightest...The man seemed to freeze but the oe who'd tried to hit him first, and probably did the first time two ran at Xi. Xi simply grabbed his fist, wraped his wrist around and locked his arm up. Then hit him with a flurry fo elbows to the chest making sure he broke at least one rib if not two. then dropped him like a lead weight. His voice smoothed out slowly. The hint Of steel still there. "Next contestant?" Xi could feel the eyes of the bar watching him. Starring in awe of how he'd just demolished one person with just one lock and seven striked without killing him...Calling out over his shoulder he smiled and apologized. "Sorry for pausing our conversation. I'll be back when ive dealt with both of these shyke for brains..."

oocSorry for taking liberties >.> was just wanting to make sure that the conversation and the whole thread didnt gat stale, if you want to jump-in add some more thugs or take controll of some more feel free :D

OOCNo problem haha, being spontaneous is what makes threads fun. I wanna apologize for how long I've taken to reply to this, school's been crazy. I'll be more active once summer break comes around, and again, I'm really sorry!

"Ah," Aery chuckled, "I see. Possessive, was he?" She teased, with a smile. When he moved his arm toward her, rolling up his sleeve, she nodded, a sympathetic look on her face as her eyes skimmed the scar, noticing the other ones on his arm, before he tugged his sleeve back down. She wasn't sure if he was telling the truth, but she'd accept the excuse. For now.

Her eyes drifted over Xi's shoulder as a few shouts broke out, and she watched a few men scuffling with each other. She grinned as she watched a man duck a punch, then returned her gaze to Ximal, opening her mouth to say something, but she was cut off by the fist that hit Xi's head.

She watched him stand, talking smoothly to the three men, and chuckled slightly, impressed when he caught the man's arm and tossed him out the door. His eyes were locked on the men, the icy, blue-black fire in them flaring up. When he spoke to her, she gently ushered Muir off her lap, knowing he'd probably be glad to return to the ocean, and stood.

"Watch?" She asked, in amusement, as she moved after Xi, out the door, eagerness in her eyes. "You're not really going to have all the fun yourself, now, are you?" Laughter was in her voice, but she was paying keen attention to the dangerous, cold air around Ximal. It made her slightly nervous, though she wouldn't care to admit it.

She stood back as the first man came at Ximal, and watched with some admiration as he quickly, and very efficiently, dealt with him, letting him drop to the ground. "Oh, no, take your time. I'm quite enjoying this," Aery laughed, freely, watching.

The men were paying her no mind, which was good. She found quite a lot of men tended to underestimate women when it came to fights, which was both annoying, yet advantageous. She watched the two men rush Xi at the same time, one slamming into his broad chest, the other moving to the side to elbow him in the ribs, hard.

As Xi turned to deal with the man at his side, Aeryna went crashing into the man that had been in front of him, sending them both tumbling to the floor, the man grunting in surprise. They grappled for a few moments, but despite her best efforts, the young Svefra couldn't match the larger man's strength, and she ended up underneath him.

His fist connected with her face, though she jerked her head to the side so that his knuckles only rammed into the side of her face. She swore, already feeling a large bruise developing, and then yelled when he gripped her hair, slamming her head into the ground. Her vision went fuzzy for a second, and she could feel the back of her head wet with blood.

Taking a second, she grit her teeth, and jerked her lean body up, slamming both knees into his groin. He groaned, and rolled off her, and she rolled over to straddle him, her fist colliding with his face. His nose, now broken, began to drip a steady stream of blood, as he wheezed, trying to regain his composure, pinned beneath the sable-haired daughter of the sea.

She hit him again, then grunted when he lurched up and sent her tumbling to the ground. He staggered up, standing over her, and kicked her sharply in the stomach. She'd begun to roll away, but his heavy booted foot still caught her, and she yelped, blocking a kick to her face, but she misjudged it and the toe of his boot still hit her forehead, making her head ring for a second time, her vision wavering.

She scrambled to her feet, nearly falling over, and stumbled a few steps back from the man. He was better at brawling than she'd expected him to be, and she was regretting taking him on. Imagine that, her, Aeryna Seaworth, regretting something. Shaking her head a bit at the thought, Aery kept focused on the man. She didn't dare take her eyes off him to glance to Ximal, but she hoped he was done with the other drunkard, because about now would be a great time for him to intervene.

OOCNo problem i understand ive been there :D, also sorry my post is a little short i didnt know if you wanted a crack at the last of the three.

having dispatched one of the trio, Xi turned to see the second of which laying into aeryna, Xi snapped his neck balled fist. He was now pissed off. Sneeering he tapped the man on the shoulder. As the drunkard turned his head looseing his focus on aeryna, Xi burst out with the comment."now is that any way to treat a woman ?" His fist snapped out, catching the brute in the face, his broken nose now truly shattered. It lay completely flat against his face. Xi's fist dripped blood and the brute coughed up blood with every breath. Xi rolled his punch into a simple and clean elbow, catching the drunkard in the forehead, and knocking him clean off balance. Darting out his free hand catching him by his shirt. Xi let a flurry of punches fly into the man's gut. Three blows out of the flurry of nine punches caught the drunkards liver. The man was in visible pain and liable to puke, pushing the man back out of the way. The drunkard spilled his guts, the beer and the food he'd eaten re-surfacing over the street as Xi turned and offered his hand to aeryna. Xi's smile to aer was a little out of place in the midst of all this.

The puking drunkard gritted his teeth and righted himself, breathing heavily all the while, huffing a wheezing to over come the pain he was in. Xi's voice lowered as liro piped up inside Xi's head.

"You just dont know when to stay down do you ?" Oh this is good, let me out i want to take down a few of these morons... The large drunkard lunged at Xi, all Xi did to retort and counter the large buffoon was inter lace his fingers , cup them over his head and drive home a series of sharp knees to the his face. The drunkard dropped into the pool of his won puke as Xi turned back to help up areyna. "are you alright? Your not hurt are you ?" As Xi spoke hhe felt a sharp pain in his back. The last of the trio had had the sense to use a weapon but Not a blade. The little petcher was using brass knuckles. Xi gritted his teeth as the pain of the impact surged up his shoulder. The blow had hit him square in the shoulder blade. That would be sore in the morning, gritting his teeth Xi moved his shoulder back and forth to check that nothing was broken.
"Alright ya giant. Now you fight me, on equal footing." The little bastard was taunting him. Xi was trying to control his anger. Xi rose from his knee satisfied that he was alright. rolling his shoulder around he'd hasd enough fo this little bastard.
