Ocean Therapy

This morning I went to the beach.

More often than not, the beach is a windy and cold experience, no matter how glorious the day is. Not today. It was gorgeous; there was little to no wind, the kelp and seaweed were actually gathering flies; there were clouds in the sky, big round white fluffy ones that the sun would only duck behind for a few seconds; the tide was high, to the delight of my Labrador retriever-husky mix who I let off her leash when we were safely out of Piping Plover territory. Later, we found an abandoned fishing shanty with an open front porch where we just sat and kicked off our shoes and enjoyed the sun.

Then it hit me: I will never be able to move away from the ocean. The smell of it, the sound of it, and every memory associated with it, it's a part of my life I refuse to let go.

Sometimes you just need to get away. The city was driving me crazy, my job was driving me crazy, and I was to the point where things and people that should not bother me were really bothering me. This weekend was one big stress reset button. I just finished a bowl of lobster that was alive in my sink not twelve hours ago.

And not a single fuck was given today.

okay now i'm gonna rant

Hello new players. If you've found my scrapbook, good on you, this message isn't for you. So really, the following two paragraphs are pointless. Shut up; let me bitch.

Chat is a useful tool, where people sort of idle about and you can ask questions and have meaningful discussions about Mizahar and everything in it. That being said, it should not be the first thing you click on when you register on the forum. Take some time (on your own) to figure shit out (on your own). I've seen so much hand-holding and useless*, lazy people grace chat with their presence lately that it's made me crazy. Where's the character sheet forum? How do I make a post? How do I tie my shoes?

This is a writing forum, but it's also a reading forum. If you can't be arsed to spend the time reading what little percentage of the site you need to know to start, why should anyone else bother to help you? Usually, you're sitting there as other helpful (too helpful) and friendly people do the searching for you. I'm surprised some of you managed to type 'rp forum' into google, to be honest. Must've been a terrible strain on your fingers.

*You may think this word is harsh, and maybe it is, but I used it. There it is. Useless, useless people.

This is a heads up for anyone currently threading with Seven and my moderated threads. This weekend I'll be gone, off having exciting adventures away from the city. During the week I have a couple of days off to be an uninhibited, shameless nerd and I'm going to be taking full advantage of that.

If my presence is scarce, this is why.
