Punishment was a funny thing. It could imply many things but ultimately there was little punishment could do to deter a person from a course of action unless that punishment is death. And in the case of any parent this is not an option and as such children tend to do as they please until they land themselves in a situation that is quite sticky.

Kat of course can only think of it as a wall that she must find a way away, in this case literally. Her father was not happy with an issue earlier in the week—one, mind you, she could no longer even remember—and had lock her up in their room. And their room had no windows save for one simply because as a child she had a grand time squirming her way through the tiniest holes and fleeing in a one-sided game of tag. Either way it was her only problem and she found that climbing the flat surface of a wall was not as easy as it appeared but not impossible if one stacked a desk on their bed and a chair on the previous item and jumped high enough. Although the landing was not the most pleasant.

Now effectively from her prison Kat carefully folded her clothes and left them under the window, they may be there when she got back or they may not, it did not bother her anyhow. For once more she felt content to patrol the night in her small form, stalking along the sides of now closed booth and peering up into open windows. Sniffing around delicately she played with the left over bits of things both mentionable and not before finding what she usually found, a door left open, a window to the rows of rooms left open a bit too wide.

The perfect size for her. In fact, they must be inviting her in. Flicking her tail lazily she nudged open the door a little more and carefully padded through the house. Perhaps they left some food out of a shiny toy she could amuse herself with until she was tired, she would never understand her father’s insistence for ‘bedtime’. Kat thoughts halted as she heard a small noise, a tiny thump and her eyes snapped to the corner.

It was a bird, a pet bird. A delicious pet bird. A poor parody of her human grin crossed her features as she hunkered down, pawing the ground anxiously and laying on her belly to begin a slow crawl forward. She made it about two feet before impatience took hold and she surged forward, trampling over the people and effectively waking them up and letting a mild chaos ensue.
