Marcus sighed, and almost let out a small chuckle when he saw his opponent attempting to act all squire like and heroic. It was amusing to say the least. "Have I have ever been drunk, yes, but that was before I was a squire of the order" Marcus said.

It seemed his opponent was going to be persistent in attempting to figure out how to use his shield as a weapon. Marcus was quite surprised Lucas had needed to ask in the first place. He had seen it first hand right? Just imitate it. But I suppose that wasn't option for Lucas. Before Marcus revealed his secret, yeah that was what it was, he mentally prepared some sort of defense. Eventually he concluded he would raise his shield as well, causing both shields to meet. It would most likely hurt his arm, but it was better than taking a shield to the chest.

"Alright fine. All you have to do is basically charge your opponent with your shield held out like a ram" he explained, not really knowing what he was talking about. There was probably some intricate technique one had to be weary of. He simply imitated.

"So there you have it, I'm sure you will be able to find some point in the fight to use it" Marcus said as he rushed Lucas, swinging his sword upward across his opponent's chest.

„Oh“, Lucas made as Marcus informed him that he had been drunk before he had been a squire of the order. Lucas had never been drunk before he had been a squire. He had just been a little boy back then, and he hadn’t been interested in such things. He had frequently gotten drunk as a squire though, and he’d even ruined the interior of a tavern once and been thrown out of said tavern as a consequence. He decided that it was better not to tell Marcus that right now though. His opponent would likely report him to the knights who’d then assign all kinds of unpleasant tasks to him.

„A ram, alright.“ Lucas held his shield in front of him. Then he changed his posture slightly because it didn’t feel quite right and tried his best to imagine that the old and not particularly impressive looking shield was indeed a ram. He was just about to charge his opponent and try out Marcus‘ shield fighting technique, but unfortunately the older squire came at him first. Lucas made a face. He was disappointed.

Since he had no interested in having Marcus‘ sword in his chest – he imagined it would be pretty painful – he raised his shield to block the attack, and then he just attempted to hit his opponent with it as if it were indeed a ram.

„Like this?“ he wanted to know.

Marcus' attempted strike had once again been blocked by the large hunk of metal that lay between his opponent and Marcus' blade. No matter, as it was to be expected. A fight between two men with shields and swords was bound to turn into a sort of stalemate involving both parties simply hitting each other until one of them gets to tired to keep it up.

Marcus' blade bounced off of Lucas' shield, causing Marcus to nearly lose control of the blade. While Marcus attempted to recover control of his sword, Lucas decided to take Marcus' instruction on how to use his shield. Marcus was not in a very good position, as his sword was hay wire while a shield threatened to knock him on his ass. Marcus was slow in his reaction time, even if he premeditated on a maneuver to block the attack. However his attempted it anyway. He raised his shield with his left hand while right regained control of the sword. Marcus' shield collided with Lucas', except a blunt pain engulfed Marcus' left arm. He also found himself sliding backwards a couple of feet.

Marcus took a few steps back and gripped his upper arm as he looked at Lucas. "Yeah, something like that" Marcus said with a smirk. Marcus breathed deeply, allowing himself to recover after his last attack turned into a blunder.

OOCSorry about the wait. I had finals all last week and I am currently trying to work out some internet problems. Also, we may want to think about finishing this thread up in the next post or two since Summer is nearing and all.

oocI agree. Let's finish the thread!

Lucas grinned all over his face as his opponent slid backwards. This little shield trick was quite useful! From now on he wouldn't only use his shield to block attacks, but also fight with it!

For a moment he considered hitting Marcus with his shield again or attacking him with his sword, but seeing as he seemed to be a little exhausted he decided to give him a break instead.

Fighting a weakened opponent was no fun.

"So ..." he said, lowering both sword and shield slightly. "Shall we continue our fight or do you want to end it now?"

As Lucas lowered his sword and shield, Marcus was tempted to jump in for a final strike, just as payback for Lucas' earlier stunt. But Marcus refrained, as it wasn't exactly the most knightly thing to do. Marcus lowered his weapons as well, as it seemed this fight had come to an end. A clear victor wasn't determined, as it was a simple exchange of blows essentially. Both squires were left bruised and tired. Marcus breathed heavily, slowly recovering from this workout, if you could call it that.

"Alright, let's end it with that then. Good spar" Marcus said trying to be friendly, "But you may want to save those tricks of yours for the enemy." Marcus said he as he swung his shield over his back and sheathed his weapon.

OOCAlright i'll turn it in, hopefully you are ok with this ending, if not just PM me!
