"How Looks Do Lie"...

Postby Qist Tiere on July 14th, 2012, 10:49 am

Appearance

Specifics
  • Height- 4 foot 6
  • Weight- 98 pounds
  • Eye Color- Gray-Blue

ImageAt first glance, many may overlook this Inarta. This isn't only because her attributes are plain, but also because...well...because they would literally look right over her. Standing at a whopping four and a half feet, there isn't much, with the exception of her blazing-red hair, that commands attention from this pint-sized lady. Her face, as well as its features, is round and clear of any blemishes of any kind. The rest of her body seems to follow the same suit, curving lightly. The one noticable difference about this seemingly bleak female, is that her body is littered with black-and-white bird tattoos. These tattoos decorate her neck, side/back, left wrist and right upper chest/shoulder. All depict small birds flocking and fluttering about. The largest one, which ranges from her back to across her hip and into her stomach region, shows a dandelion blowing in the wind. The seeds from said "weed" are then shown turning into birds of various sizes.

Past and Important People

Postby Qist Tiere on July 14th, 2012, 11:44 am

History

Childhood :
ImageQist had a fairly normal childhood. Her father was a mixed blood, being half human and half Inarta. On the other hand, her mother was a full-blooded Inarta. Being 3/4s Inarta, it would only make sense that Qist began a Inartain life, thus being left behind by her parents. Strangely, though, the petite child was raised by her parents throughout her toddler and earlier teenage years. Of course, there were times when one or both of her parents were absent, but it was better than complete abandonement in the vast, dangerous region of Sylira.

Late Teens to Present :
Up until she was nearly 17, Qist's life still seemed fairly normal. By now, her family had officially moved into Syliras and began to make a name for themselves as decent merchants. They prided themselves on selling the best survival and camping gear, as well as the finest deer veal. Due to this, Qist was often found hitting the trails all around the region, hunting.

This one particular time she happened to be accompanied by her mother and Kelvic companion. Her Kelvic wished to stop and see a nearby friend, suggesting, jokingly, that the she and this friend would make a good looking pair. Laughing light-heartedly, the trio moved forth towards the friend's nearby cottage. Qist saw no harm in it; they already had enough good products to set them for the season, and she was honestly in the mood for a little kick-back time.

Reaching the home, Qist's companion ran up and let themselves in, waving the two ladies in. Nodding as they entered and welcomed the warm, cozy feel of the house, both women were shocked by what awaited them: a svelte Human male with strikingly handsome features. He towered of the pair as he greeted them sweetly. Qist took an immediate fancy to the Human, but shook the feeling away. After all, was she not a harmonally challenged teen? Falling for strangers was part of the deal.

But as the trio stayed long into the night, Qist found herself enjoying this young man's company more and more. She cursed herself for being so...so...vulnerable, and yet she let it happen all the same. This man, who went by the name of Troin, was kind, gentlemanly and respectful. And handsome. So it was no shock that the three stayed as house guests for a few more days. The pair became something of a set of best friends. She would help him learn to hunt, while he would teach her to cook.

Unfortunately, though, Qist's mother took the same interest in Troin. And what was even more unfortunate was that her mother, having a few more years of beauty and experience on her daughter, won the race for the boy's heart. Qist didn't find this out, however, until she walked upon the two in the forest digging for gold (and by digging for gold I mean....well... their "mining" wasn't family-friendly, if you get my drift).

Infuriated at her own mother's betrayal and adultery, the youth stormed back home. Now, keep in mind that the trip was at least a day long, and the entire time her anger simmered, and brewed. So, as she slammed into the shop, she held nothing back. Shouting, Qist relayed the whole story--every last sticky detail-- back to her estranged father. Her anger would rival that of a severely miffed Akalak. She paced about the front of the store, flailing her arms in excentric motions (which she later regretted, as it caused a sore worse than one could ever imagine).

When her mother finally bothered to show her face, Qist had already locked herself into her room. Her fury was still simmering deep within her heart and mind. Her mother hurt her, badly, and she was going to make darn sure she paid for it--dearly. Her parents came rapping at the door, wishing to speak. Qist allowed them to come in, but said nothing. Slowly, the pair revealed that this wasn't the first time either of the two had been unfaithful. This didn't bother Qist too much, after all she wasn't their mother. Why should she care?

But Imagine the state of near-insanity the unstable teen reached when her father told her that she was not an only child. That he had another family, one where he had three other children. Silent, the youth processed the news. Her hard work had been feeding a family that he had kept from her? He had been sneaking off, spinning lies? Skipping out on her life for them? The room lay quiet, like the silent before the storm.

Oh, and what a storm it was. Qist launched into a full-on ethical and moral attack on her parents, screaming and tipping over tables as she collected her things. She couldn't stay there. Not with them. No, she couldn't. Besides, without her, he'd be able to even more freely visit his back-up family. And so, after the last scream was spoken and the door was slammed, Qist shut the door to the old life she held. She took up a new name, Tiere, and never looked back.

512 AV :
Summer

Nearly three years after leaving her family, Qist just begins to socialize once again. She had spent the last few years doing pretty much nothing besides hunt, set traps and wander the woods aimlessly. This changes, however, once she finds a few friends in odd situations. The oddest being an encounter with a young physician who, by some strange stroke of luck, got caught in a netted trap of hers. Later on, after a small yet explosive fight with "the voice", the doctor comes in handy when Qist happens to punch a tree and jam her knuckles. Consequently, though, her injured hand had an uncontrollable twitch for the rest of the season.

In a bizarre twist of fate, Qist finds herself entrapped in her own device later on in the season. After a few cuts and bruises, two Syliran Knights come to her rescue. The pair, howeever, was trailing a young Kelvic wolf, who Qist eventually grew rather fond of.

In between these two extremes, Qist finds herself teaching a newcomer about Syliras. This Kelvic, Allison, soon reveals a shared desire to visit Wind Reach. Thus, the pair begins to search for travel companions and a guide to lead them to the mountain city of Inartans.

Important Relationships
Eta :

Image
Name-Steveta (Steev-et-uh)
Relation- Mother
Last seen- Nearly four years ago.
Up until the time when Qist left, the two women were fairly good friends. Granted, there were many things about the careless, selfish mother, but she never really paid any mind to them. Steveta taught her how to speak and read Nari and Common, as well as the ways to survive the outside world.

Vix :

Image
Name- Vixant
Relation- Father
Last seen- Nearly four years ago.
Qist and Vix never really saw eye-to-eye. Actually, a more accurate way to describe the pair's relationship was nuetral. They neither hated nor loved (at least, they never said so to the other; their love was one that was understood, rather than spoken) the other, they just understood that they each needed the other in some way. It was a functional relationship, and it matched that of business partners. Vix taught Qist how to use a bow and arrow, and taught her the sacred Inarta art of falconery.

Character Concept

Though the majority of her heritage comes from the Inarta, Qist seems to have attributes from many different races. Just like the Akalak, she isn't too easy to temper, but is one to be reckoned with once her anger is unleashed. The bold, extroverted thouth process within her could be drawn to the Drykas, and the mean streak that runs deep within her blood may be compared to that of the Myrian. Don't make haste to judge, though, as this young lady is very much her own. She demands independance and strength from herself, always striving to be the best she possibly can.
