Was it strange for Bob to think the amount of stones did not increase as much as he had thought? He only reached Syliras recently but not even he would missed the signs of the destruction brought by the djed storm and the current reconstruction efforts to bring back some sense normality in the city and to its people. It was because of these signs he was able to realize Alvadas was not the only place hit by the storm. Trying to get a rough estimate of the extent casualties in Syliras, Bob looked for the only other similar method of keeping count. While the stars in the underground of Alvadas were used by a still unknown power to him, Bob knew about the Stone Garden of Syliras and what the stones meant to its people. A city was only a measure of its people, or as how Bob would interact with it which was why he decided the best way to see how badly Syliras was affected was from how much people the storm cost it.

The Stone Garden itself would not care if it was made bigger from the casualties of the storm while the rest of the city kept busy in getting on with the lives they were lucky enough to keep. Bob from what he had witnessed felt Syliras was able to weather the storm quite well, maybe even better than the likes of Alvadas which forced him underground for days. Taking a seat at the Stone Garden Bob wondered to himself "why am I wasting my time here?" as he kept a mental count of the stones reaching "forty three...forty four...forty five..." unlike the few other people there paying their respects or adding a stone of their own. Even while he watched them he could feel it. Grief and sorrow that could not be ignored even as his count went higher. While Syliras and most of its people were able to continue, the survivors were not without any damage or loss. Was it right for him to feel it was good the knights has failed to such a degree? Probably not, but he never liked the conceited protectors. A good lesson for them to humble themselves he figured.

Bob lost count a few times as he watched the depressing moments but being the gambler he was, he opted to resume the count in the nearest stone he could remember while just adding the numbers together. "If that one was sixty five, it should be sixty six in the next one..." was one of the many such things he had to repeat everytime he lost count until Bob was ready to leave. He just looked at the outer ring of stones which seemed incomplete and decided to make a rough estimate from what he already counted. "Three times of eighty eight. That should be nearly three hundred..." or no, after recounting with his fingers "...around two hundred and eighty" he thought to himself. He thought of the pitiful turnout given the numbers but then, the rebuilding efforts should take precedence for the people. That much he knew at least but still something more should be expected of people. Bob looked out to the stones and figured that he should at least say something although he did not know quite what yet.

"May Xhyvas give your deaths meaning, by helping those that survive you to transcend what they already are. To make choices that would make Syliras better than it is..."

Or something along those lines especially when it came to the knights. He knew a little about the dead god from a conversation with his "dad" back in Alvadas. What better god to help the dead than a dead god himself?
