A rich man and a thief. (Valerius Nitrozian)

67th of summer

Giph really was irritated, he had been staking out at The fancy bakery, filled to the roof with posh morons who probably stuffed golden rimmed miza's up their arse just so they could say they really could shit money away. But even with all those posh morons in there he still hadn't found anybody worth stealing from, or at least not worth enough to make the risk of stealing worth it at least. That and half of them had gotten themselves drunk on expensive wine and hadn't got a single penny on them anymore.

He tried to ignore the delicious smell coming from the bakery as he huddled a bit further into the small hiding place he used to keep himself from vieuw and put his attention back on the people who left the bakery, really hoping that he would spot a decent target soon, he wanted to get out of the distracting smell, it only made him hungrier the longer he smelled it.

A rich man and a thief. (Valerius Nitrozian)

Postby Valerius Nitrozian on September 1st, 2012, 11:01 am

Valerius Nitrozian did not stuff golden mizas up his arse and shit money afterwards – it sounded like a fairly painful and disgusting procedure – he kept all his coins in his purse that looked like it might burst anytime soon. But despite that little flaw he was still the poshest of all the posh morons that were gathered in Yae Varone’s famous cafe, drinking coffee and wine, eating overpriced sweets and staring at paintings that nobody really understood.

Unlike the other rich and famous people (or people that wanted to be rich and famous) Valerius was not drunk. He never got drunk because he preferred to be in complete control of his body and his mind. Besides, in his opinion drinking too much alcohol made you ugly and stupid. While they had ordered drink after drink and slowly gotten rid of all their money, the Nitrozian had been sipping from the same glass of wine for half a bell.

He didn’t come here to enjoy himself, he came here to see and be seen. He wanted to make connections. He wanted people to notice him. Of course he was as always dressed in expensive silk and velvet and fine learger boots. His appearance was impeccable. Valerius Nitrozian wanted to stand out. He wanted to make people think that House Nitrozian had not suffered at all after the terrible djed storm, but was better off than ever before.

But unfortunately there wasn’t anything to be gained from spending the afternoon at Yae Varone’s that day. It seemed as if the place had temporarily changed into some kind of run down, low quality tavern. The patrons of Ravok’s most famous cafe were too drunk to care about the fact that he was there which was rather unusual as far as he was concerned. They didn’t want to do business with him, they just wanted more alcohol. Chances were they would vomit on him, torture him with crude jokes or suddenly feel the need for physical contact, and Valerius wasn’t in the mood for any of those things.

So he left, passing right by Giph’s hiding place.

Giph's waiting had finally paid of. A posh looking man left the cafe, dressed in expensive looking silks and other fancy stuf giph both had never seen from this close before but at the same time, all that posh stuff only let you look like an overdressed peacock and worst of all it made sure you stuck out of the crowd like a golden miza in a heap of coppers. Best part of all, the man's purse was still well stocked with his gold. Even though that meant the person was most likely not quite as drunk as the others he felt confident in his own skill that he was able to rob the guy without tipping him of that anything was wrong. Well at least until he needed his money anyway.
He waited a few moments after the man had passed him before he crept out of his hiding place and crept up on the man, keeping his footsteps as silent as he could, his left hand gripped the small knife in his left hand and kept it hidden underneath his cloak. He approached the man at the side his purse was hanging, and as soon as he was close enough he quickly slit the strings of the purse and caught it with his right hand and hid it underneath his cloak.

This entire well practiced motion didn't take more then a few scan't moments and as soon it was over he just passed the man who hopefully wouldn't figure out something was missing until he tried to pay for something.
Still, giph just kept his cool and walked past the man, not giving his target another glance. He just needed to keep his cool, act normal and get away from him at the first oppurtunity.

A rich man and a thief. (Valerius Nitrozian)

Valerius loved standing out like a golden miza in a heap of coppers, and peacocks were some of his favourite birds, so he wouldn’t have minded Giph’s view of him at all if he had known. Since the thief’s thoughts – as well as his presence – were a mystery to him though, all he did was walk in the direction of the Nitrozian Estate where he hoped he would be spared the presence of drunkards and fools such as the one that had claimed his favourite cafe.

He was just about to move around a corner, when it happened. He didn’t see the thief – Giph was too fast and too experienced to reveal his presence in such a way – but he was very aware of the sudden lack of weight. Slightly confused he took a look around to see if he had accidentially dropped his purse (although he rarely dropped anything accidentially – he tended to pay attention).

As he saw the boy walk past him, he furrowed his brow, and then he abruptly reached out to him and grabbed his arm, hoping that he had washed recently (Valerius detested dirty people and was mildly afraid of diseases), although he probably wouldn’t be that lucky.

„Give me my purse“, he said to him. „And then tell me one reason why I shouldn’t inform the Ebonstryfe immediately.“
