Grasis was awake. He was always awake at that hour. It wasn't safe for him to sleep any later he had learned. The streets were harsh, and sleeping on them wasn't any easier. And so he stood awake, the seventh bell just having passed as he watched those walking down the street. He had to find some more money. What he had taken from that store owner a while back was going to run out soon. He also needed a new change of clothes, his were starting to smell faintly of must and mildew. But no worry, someone would come along that he could take from.
Standing on the corner of the street, his back to a building wall, he stared out at the few people walking by. The small and weak that scampered in the shadows, the tall and brave that walked out in the open directly. Even those who were like him, trying there best to draw no attention while they observed everyone else. There, in that alley, was someone being mugged. And over there, a fight was going to break out already. This was deffinatly a city of crime, and he hated it. But he needed to live, so he made do. Licking his lips as his eye's scans the crowd, his right hand would absently wander up and grip at the pendant hanging under his shirt.
As his hand grips it he see's a man walking the street, he looked strong. Perhaps with money, perhaps not, but if he didn't have money he'd be able to help Grasis get some. It was worth a try. Bowing his head he'd reach up and wipe the worst of the grime off his face before pulling on the ribbons hanging from his pants. Motioning with his other hand he'd wave the passerby over, "Over here, I have something you will surely want"
