Fall 39th, 512AV
Lance had been in Syliras for around three hours and decided to take a trip down to his childhood home. He had high hopes that his mother, sister, and his brother was still there, but his other half of his mind whispered at him to not get his hopes up, causing his inner self to dwindle and sit down once more much like a talkative lawyer being silenced by a judge. His black horses snorted then tossed its head several times, for it wanted to pull away and graze at the small tufts of grass that sprouted from the earth. "Stop it, Ancentrial." said Lance, gently stroking his nose.
The horse snorted out of displeasure then quieted down, listening to it's commands. Lance took a few more steps then looked at the townhome his family had lived in. He became choked up and was slowly fighting back tears that threatened to break the dam that he had spent 13 years building. He swallowed hard then looked at Ancentrial only to find his gaze to be aimed towards his old home again. With a sigh he looked up and down the street that wasn't as busy as he remembered. Lance took a few steps towards the door to knock but then stopped and continued walking on his way.
Lance examined his surroundings and eventually found himself turning on a much much busier street than he had expected. He was looking towards his right when someone very rude bumped into his left shoulder. The individual had jet black hair much like himself but he had icy eyes. The individual reminded him of someone but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
"Watch it! Don't you know how to look up, damn it?!?"
Lance was mad and glared at the younger male who was stunned.
"Hey, I'm sorry man! Dang, don't you know what an accident is? Chill out! It's a new season, new start, have some fun! Oh, and what's up with the depressing black clothes? Come on, time for some new styles or something!"
Lance could've punched him in the jaw at this point and was glaring at him with a very intense frown "You don't know what the hell I've been through! So shut the hell up and leave me the petch alone!" Lance was trying hard not to throw some harsh insults out there and the youngster shook his head "Hey, whatever works with ya, alright? And another thing, you look really familiar. Do I know you or something?"
Lance looked at him harshly then responded, his voice cold "I don't know you, and I don't want to." However, Lance couldn't chase him off! "You know, you've got some issues. You know, you ain't the only one with problems in their past. Far from it. As a matter of fact you don't know what I've been through." Lance looked at him with his eyebrows drawn "Really? Because I'm not sure you've lost out as much as I have. You see, I'm alone. I have no one and it's been this way since I was 8!"
Lance couldn't shake him "Oh yeah? Well, try having your father die when you're young only to have your brother go when you're six! Yeah, you think your life sucks! Then everyone died and I'm alone too!" the youngster just had to say that.
Lance advanced towards him "I was kidnapped when I was 8 and forced to work and be beaten every single say until I was practically 16! You have no damn idea what I've gone through! And now I return here to see if I can find my family and what do I find? A quiet house where I hear no movement."
The young man looked up at Lance with tears filling his icy blue eyes
"Lance?"
Lance's expression instantly softened and his lip quivered slightly "Collin?"
They simultaeniously came at eachother and grasped each other tightly. A tear ran down Lance's cheek and Collin was full out crying. Lance bit his lip and allowed four more tears to escape before he completely stopped the sobbing. They let go and looked at each other "Lance! We thought- I thought I'd never see you again!"
Lance's expression instantly grew serious once more and his eyes narrowed "What do you mean I? Why not we? What happened? Did they give up on me!?!" Collin was biting his sip but a few more tears streamed down his cheeks "They left, Lance. Every damn one of them! Our sister! Our mother! They both died! Mother died because of some disease four years ago and our sister followed about two years later because of depression! She couldn't take it anymore, Lance! She just died!" At this point, Lance had his hands covering his face as he sat on a bench, trying to cover several tears that he allowed to escape and they were still gradually coming.
Collin soon sat down and leaned back "I tried, Lance! I tried to help her but she just wasn't strong enough! She couldn't handle it!"
