Out of the Wilds

Yohan looked compassionately at the young man before him. That is, untill the comment on 'sulking'. The compassion in his eyes turned to a mix of slight understanding and annoyance.

"To be an orphan, it would imply that I was a child when my mother died...this simply is not the case..." His deep voice trailed off. And the look he gave him said that he did not want to discuss this further.

The Zith watched the young boy intently. His mouth babbling mouth seemed to go on as endless as the Ocean. His annoyance grew when the boy refused to allow him, or the girl, to speak.

He walked forward, snapping his wings out to full 20ft length and wrapping them loosly around himself. He stepped forward. On a whim he forced some Djed into his eyes and towards the little boy he now towered over. Using hypnosis, he purposely willed a bit of fear into the boy. His voice changed, going deeper.
"You trust too easily boy. You would do well to be more cautious this time of night.

Instantly however, he changed his subtle magic to impose the impression of calmness. Though still annoyed, he had his fun, and too much Djed use hurt his eyes.

"Actually, I had intended to introduce myself to the young lady." He smoke softer now, toward the girl. "My name is Yohan ma'am. I didn't have the time to introduce myself earlier today." He hopped his subtle hint told her of who he was.

Out of the Wilds

Postby Alyvina Theldin on November 16th, 2012, 12:07 am

Alyvina wrapped her staff on the ground a few times. "Now gentlemen, let's not have hostilities between us. If fate had brought us here, we should not be cold to one another," she said softly. Indeed, she would not like the excitable one and the calm one in a fight. She thought it was interesting, though, how they were all brought here. The turn events seemed like no coincidence. Maybe this would mark a greater journey.

She was slightly startled when she felt the arm wrapped around hers, bringing her back from her thoughts. Her hand twitched, ready to wallop whatever it was that grabbed her, but thought otherwise. It was most likely Talorin, with his energetic air, and not a beast of the wilds.

Alyvina smiled in the direction of Yohan, "Would you like to come with us, Yohan? Both of your kind hearts warm me and I would love to have your company."
"Sometimes it is not the blind who cannot see."

Out of the Wilds

Talorin was confused, one second he saw a glimmer of compassion, the next understanding, the next anger and annoyance in the dark figures expressions. Then without warning the figure spread his massive wings to their impressive wingspan then wrapped them around himself kind of like a cloak. This did nothing but impress Talorin even further, when the man stared him down and spoke "You trust too easily boy. You would do well to be more cautious this time of night." Talorin was seconds from letting the figure know that there was no need to fear, the two knights across the alleyway have been monitoring this situation for a while now, when an unnatural feeling came across him and held his tongue. While the two made their introductions with each other, Talorin held off and tried to shake that uncomfortable feeling he had moments ago. The last time he had felt like that was when the knights swung their swords at Torin.

"I suddenly don't feel well, I think it would be a good idea for me to escort you to an inn, my lady. Then, I should go lay down." Talorin mumbled very quietly.

Alyvina frowned and patted Talorin's arm. "What's wrong, friend? I have an herb or two that might soothe you."

She could feel the unease and tension between the two. She wished she could see what was going on, but with her other senses, she just had to make the best with what she could do like always. She sensed that Yohan was more powerful than she thought, and made careful note not to anger him. Now she wondered what he had done to poor Talorin. What kind of magic was he capable of?

Yohan had mixed feelings about what he had done. On the one hand, he had acomplished his goal of making the young boy settle down. But on the other, he did not mean to push him away. Maybe a little more Djed use and I can convince him to stay.. He changed his mind instantly. He had already used enough djed to hurt his eyes. He didnt want to overgive.

"Nonsense! He said with a smile. "It would be rude to offer this young lady room and board only to leave her alone at an inn." He would have offered her to stay with him instead, but as of now, he had no where to go himself.

"I don't think it would hurt to join you. Thank you"

"Well, I wouldn't want to be thought of as a poor host, and I'm starting to feel a little better, let's go." Talorin said with more enthusiasm than he really has.

Walking out into the main pathways, Talorin led the blind girl gently by the arm. Looking behind him to see if Yohan was following or not.

"I'm sorry if I annoy you with my chatter, it's been a while since I have had people talk to."

Talorin walked towards his home in the citadel.

Alyvina smiled. "I know you are uneasy, Talorin, but I don't think he means us harm." She gave his arm a little squeeze. "One does not need eyes to see things. I think if he wanted to hurt you he would have done so already. And your chatter does not bother me. I have spent a long time in the wilds with no one to talk to. Your energy is refreshing."

She had no fear that Yohan would hurt them, but she still didn't want any trouble. So she kept a level head, for sometimes it only took that much to manage order. Talorin seemed fragile to her, his energy hiding a secret pain. She knew too well the masks people wore, she could hear it in their voices.

Out of the Wilds

Yohan followed, only to hesitate slightly at the exit of the alley. Breath Yohan. You have done nothing wrong. He stepped tentatively out with his head low. Walking a few ways back, he listened intently to the quiet conversation ahead of him, thankful for his keen ears.

Something Talorin said caught his attention.
"I'm sorry if I annoy you with my chatter, it's been a while since I have had people talk to."
So Talorin is alone? And then Alyvinas comment about being in the wildnerness. It would seem the three of us have a lot more in common than I thought.

A cool breeze blew hard through the near empty Syliras street. Yohan was beginning to feel a little closer to the two of them. He moved quickly to catch up with them. As he approached he stretched out his wings, encasing them both to blot out the wind. His own fur had kept him warm, but these two did not seem dressed for the weather.

"The two of you must be freezing. He said. To make his wing position less awkward feeling to him, he placed one of his clawed hands gently on their shoulders. One on Alyvina and the other on Talorin.

"Where do you live Talorin?"

"Just around the corner." Talorin replied.

Leading for a few more moments into the citadel Talorin opened the door to his modest apartment. The room is set up in the traditional manner of Syliras common apartments, a bunk here, a table against the wall, and another smaller one in the middle of the room, a chest and a small chair. The hearth has a small fire burning brightly. The room, for it's size, is remarkably clean, neat, and organized. There is a pair of pants hanging on the bed posts with a needle and thread hanging out, and there are some pots and seasonings next to the hearth.

"Welcome to my home, it's not much, but it serves my needs. Yohan, make yourself at home, and my lady, since I still haven't caught your name, If you would like to feel your way around to get your bearings, I will start a stew. I see my neighbor, Ms. G., has already started my fire for me. She knows I am not good with fires, I should have a delicious meal in no time."

"So tell us what brings you to the city?"

Yohan peered around the small room briefly, deciding he did not like it. Not that it wasn't up to his standards, no. He thought it was a lovely little place. But there was no wind. No moon and room to breath. He knew he could not extend his wings even half open in this tiny place.

He decided it would be best to leave the seats open for the lady. With this in mind, he moved over to sit by the fire.

"Nothing in particular brought me here." He said after some time. "Just passing through mainly."
