Day of the 43rd of Fall 512 AV continued

She had closed her eyes when she had heard him talk about losing things in his life. She dare not say anything about it to him. She knew the look on her face would be enough for him. A look that said, 'I have also lost things, people, important to me.'

But when he said that she was the cause of his tenseness, his wanting to keep her safe, she blushed lightly and before offering the berries she whispered "I....It is fine.. you do not have to appoligize for something like that.." She knew she probably would act the same way if she had been through what he had, whatever it was.

That was when she offered the berries and he took some, along with making her heart beat faster with his next comment. And she was glad she was not looking at him at that moment. But she was extremely happy, she felt so good, him and her together. It felt so perfect.

She forced herself to look at him again, even though she was still blushing. She wanted to memorize every piece of him, starting with his face. She nibbled on a nut as she mulled him over, and a small smile came across her face, as she decided she should probably answer him.

"Well, I am glad you think that way of my kisses, honestly, I did not know what you would think... Seeing as.. I am knew to this and everything." She blushed a little more. God her emotions were just flying free as a herd of wild horses running across the plains.

She had to find a way to reign it in. But how could she, when her heart was pounding in her ears and she felt like her breath came short. She could barely concentrate at all, it was actually a miracle at all that she was able to teach him anything about harp playing. She tried to take a deep breath, but she could not seem to relax. How was she going to do this? How could he be affecting her so much?

Viper had to admit, he was having about the most enjoyable time he had had in a very long time. Her playing with his hair was actually quite soothing as well. He found himself simply smiling and looking back into Gin's eyes, her little expressions warming his heart. "Well you have nothing to worry about there." He mused happily and was soon pulling gently at a bit of fabric from her dress when he remembered he was supposed to show her at least the basics of the sword.

"Ok Gin. Time for your lessons." As he rose to his feet he offered a hand to help her up. When she took it, he pulled her in close, where he smiled mischeviously. "Time to teach you how to handle a sword." He paused for a moment letting the comment hang there, before snatching another kiss and then backing away a bit. Reaching back, he drew both the swords that were still neatly in their sheaths. He rotated one around and offered it to Gin.

Just when she thought she could not blush anymore, he started to play with her dress making her blush even more and her heart race. She forgot to breath for a moment, until he broke her from her spell with talk of lessons.

She took his hand and he brought her to her feet. But again she started blushing lightly at the closeness, and the meaning behind what he said next. There was more to what he said then he let on. His pause was proof of that.

When he kissed her, butterflies surged in her stomach as she kissed back. But it was to short, and she looked at him, wanting more. But she wiped the look off her face fast, so fast he might not have seen the look at all. When he offered her on of his blades, she hesitantly took the hilt of the sword in her right hand.

The weight felt foreign to her. This strange extention of her arm. She loosened and tightend her grip around the hilt, trying to get a feel for it. But she could not get over the strangeness of it in her hand, and it showed on her face.

Viper simply watched her for a moment and soon chuckled at how she stood and held the sword. "You were right. I am getting my turn to laugh."He shook his head and walked behind her. Reaching to her hand he said, "Ok so your holding the sword ok...at least you're holding the right end..." Stifling a snicker he continued, "...But when you hold the saber up, you want to bend your elbow a bit. Your arm should never be holding the saber straight out at your apponent. It will allow you to be better able to counter attack if need be. Plus you don't want to give away how far your reach is exactly until it's to late for the enemy."

He gaze drifted down towards her legs. "We uh, are also going to have to work on your foot work. When you prepare to fight, you want to spread your legs farther apart..." He walked back around in front of her and demonstrated. "...like this. This will help you keep your balance once you have engaged the enemy. Now let's see you try your battle stance."

She smiled as he came around behind her and corrected some of the things she was doing. But she was focused, she listened to each instruction carfully, trying to engrain it into her brain as she followed each direction.

When he commented on her foot work she she could not help but laugh a little. But she tried to mimic his stance as best she could. Her legs slightly at an angle to eachother, her right more foreward than her left and about a shoulders width appart.

The sword in front of her now but, with her elbow bent, it was closer to her body. It was angled slightly and caught the light of the now slowly falling sun. She noted where the glint of light fell on his chest and kept this in mind if he started a spar. It might be helpfull to her, though she was not sure if she would be able to use it quite to the best of her advantage.

She did not have any skill in the way's of fighting, but she could use her smarts. That was a plus, but in the future, her opponent's will probably have as much smarts as her if not more, and way more experience with their weapon.

She adjusted her grip on her sword and raised it a bit, just a tiny bit so that the light from the sword's glint was on his heart. She was down, just a little crouched, but only a little so that she felt her balance feel back to normal. She looked to Viper to see if she had done well.

His eyes narrowed some as he noticed the beam of light radiating of her blade and into his chest. The way she analyzed the beam of light caught his attention. A small smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. Clever girl, he thought to himself. "Very good. Now let's see how you maintain it." He lowered himself into a similar stance, but began to walk around her, forcing her to rotate as well if she was to keep facing him. As he circled her, he slowly closed the gap, keeping his sword raised toward her as his head lowered some. He wondered if she would be at all intimidated and lose her footing, or if she could remain focused.

His eyes, ventured to different areas of her person as he kept an eye on her movements. Her arm seemed to straighten out toward him little by little as though she was trying to push him back with the point of her sword. "Mind your elbows. Keep them bent." As she tried to correct, her footwork got a lil sloppy. "Keep your stance, and always mind your surroundings." In truth, she was doing fairly well. Still needed a little work, but not too bad. But this was the easy part. The biggest lesson he desired to teach her was to come next....Fear!

All emotion suddenly drained away from his face, replaced by an expression about as warm and feeling as a stone statue. He quickly flourished his saber and then charged, letting out a quick battle yell! As he closed, he drew back his sword and swung down from high down towards her head...

Words of approval left his lips, but the words that followed made her want to curse, she was barely holding the stance as it was. As he started to move, she did as any ameture would do and turned with him, losing her light on the sword. She felt him closing in, and for some reason, with his sword up, she felt very uncomfortable with this.

She started to change up her position, put her sword between him and her as she tried to back up a bit, only to be reprimanded immediately. She tripped over heself as she tried to fix it and got yelled at for that too. Now she was angry at herself.

But the moment she saw all emotion drain from his face, all the blood drained from hers. He came at her after doing a fancy little something with his saber, thinking for a moment that he was being a showoff, but that moment passed fast and he was now charging at her. Her heart almost stopped, she did not know what to do. So she let her intinct take over.

She raise the saber just above her head as if she was going to try and block his swing. Then she smirked, and step to the side at the last moment, dropping low, kicking her leg out and spinning, her leg connecting with his, with the intent of tripping him. Making sure she was not in his line of attack. Being small and nimble also had it's advantages, and she planned to use them fully.

He was taken by surprise when she not only sidestepped his attack, but actually went on the offensive and counter attacked. He jumped up to avoid her leg. But unfortunately it was just a moment to late. Her leg manage to connect with his just barely, causing him to stumble as he landed. Luckily, he didn't actually fall, in fact managing to recover and quickly face her once more. He paused for a moment after instinctually dropping into a more defensive stance.

Well isn't she full of surprises. He had to admit, he fully expected to see her completely freeze up. But instead, she showed remarkably quick thinking for someone who had had no prior training to this. A moment after these thoughts passed through his mind he stood up straight again and raised his blade to just in front of his face before lowering it. A formal salute from days long ago. His traditionally warm smile for her then returned to his face and he walked toward her, sword lowered. "Now that's my girl!" He closed the distance and wrapped her in a hug. "You just never cease to amaze." Kissing her forhead he continued, "Sorry for going at ya like that. I had to see how you would handle a surprise attack. If you would fall all to pieces, hold your own, or somewhere in the middle."

His face radiated with just how proud he was of her. It wasn't a matter of her just learning how to use a sword. But it was that if something were to happen, she had at least a chance of defending herself. Now in reality he meant to fight so she wouldn't have to...but...in the event he somehow managed to fail her too...well. It was just comforting to know there was that chance. "Between what happened earlier offset by the impressive display now, I'd say you're somwhere in the middle. We just have to work on the areas then that do still affect you. Still you're a lot better off than I am with that harp." He laughed and gave her a big hug, lifting her in the air and giving her another long kiss as he slowly spun around once. It may have been a little thing to her, but for Viper, he couldn't be more proud and happy.

She was still on the ground but facing him when he turned to face her. A smirk on her face as she waited to see what he would do, not daring to move to provoke another attack. When his warm smile returned to his face she stood up as he walked to her. He wrapped his arms around her and she leaned into him dropping the sword and wrapping her arms around him.

He kissed her forehead and appologized for his suddenly coming at her. "It is fine Viper, no one got hurt, and I kind of figured you were going to do something along the lines of a move or two. I just.. did not expect your disposition to completely change like that.. That was what scared me.."

She looked at him, the proud look in his eyes his next words came to her ears. She smiled at his little joke, "Well now.. I would not say that... I was just acting upon my instinct. That could have been a complete fluke, or just luck, if I had moved the wrond way or hit you wrong, both of us could have gotten seriously hurt." He hugged her and lifted her off the ground. Taking her breath away. She gave a breathless laugh and when he kissed her she kissed back, her arms wrapped around his neck.

When he lowered her down though, she did not let the kiss go. No this time she kept her lips on his for longer then he probably intended. She pulled herself to him not really wanting to let go. Unconciously she started to massage her lips on his. She seemed to remember doing this in her dream, but it was vague. For now she was here with Viper, and she felt that her love for him was being spelled out with each pulse in their kiss.

When she pulled away, she did so reluctantly. Her breath coming hard, her face flushed. Full of surprises, yes, that was her, she could see it on his face that he was a little shocked. She herself was shocked too. But she just gave him a small smile, waiting to see what he would say and do.

He smirked at her comment about what it was that actually scared her. "Well that was the point. Actually everything had a purpose. The look, was to put fear in you, the flourish was to distract or confuse you, and the sudden charge was meant to shock you into freezing up." His expression became more serious for a moment. "If you are ever in a situation where you actually need a sword...you will probably be facing all of these."

His smile quickly returned as she continued on and then returned his kiss. What surprised him next was how she kissed him. It was more intense, as if she was pouring her heart and soul into it. When they seperated, he simply stared at her for a moment, hungry for more. Her small smile teased him to return for more. The sound of her breathing seemed to indicate she was feeling just as moved by the experience as he was. He didn't have any words that could properly describe what he was feeling just then. So he didn't say another word.

Pulling her back in close, he kissed her again with the same fire and intensity that she gave hime a moment before.
