Solo Settling Into a New Abode

Timestamp: Fall Night 1, 512 Ishgrameer had been walking for some time now. He had departed the Valintar's Office after receiving the info he had journeyed there for. He was happy to have received such elevated level in the caste system of the city. He was eager to chat with Val whom he had met every time he had journeyed to Wind Reach during his youth. Ishgrameer also thought that it would be more of an interesting experience to nest among the other raptors, as opposed to the commons that were-in their own right-good accommodations. Ishgrameer was somewhat amazed that he had managed a friend already upon reaching Wind Reach. Kaden seemed like a pleasant enough fellow that he imagined after some time he would be able to chat with him without any qualms. He wondered what it would be like among the other raptors, and he imagined that it would be different than his solitary life in the wilds. Another thought that sprang into his thoughts was if there were any other Kelvics among Val’s raptors. Finally arriving at the Sanikas Gates Ishgrameer found it odd seeing it from the other side. He was mildly surprised to not have noticed the footsteps behind him. "Hello lad, what brings you to my humble abode? Are you seeking to leave the city?" the voice was strong and weathered, yet rich. Turning on his heel Ishgrameer smiled and bowed as he introduced himself. "Hello Val Imusan, my name is Ishgrameer Windwalker, and I am here to make lodgings among your raptors.” Ishgrameer eyed the man, with a smile on his face. He wondered if his intense eyes were dissuading, but Val still seemed the wizened sage that he had remembered from his youth. Ishgrameer hoped that he could be like that one day, as wise, as noble, as honorable.

Val smiled as the lad introduced himself. He took in all of Ishgrameer's features through wizened eyes that had assessed many a come and goer to Wind Reach. The man's height which towered over the tallest of Inarta. His large round intense orange eyes, and the bare feet with sharpened nails like talons outlined him as a Kelvic. He figured that Ishgrameer must be some sort of avian Kelvic, but what specific avian he wasn't sure. The first of many questions would include just that. "So Kaden offered you a roost among the raptors did he? Well then i have no qualms with that. Just make sure to clean up after yourself as you come and go, and don't make any problems with the other raptors." Ishgrameer seemed content at hearing these words. However Val was not quite done for he had some questions that he wished to ask the man, since he had been denied the opportunity earlier. "I only have a few questions before we can be on more friendly terms, and then all will be set in stone. Why did you not arrive into the city through the gates?" Ishgrameer maintained a smile, as though there was little in the world-especially this harsh northern part of the world-that could make him sad. "I am sorry to have gone around you Val, i was on my way to see you before i entered the city. But as i was flying i was stopped by the most curious lass. Cin-Cin i believe was her name. She had a wonderful companion, Try i believe was his name. Curious fellow that falcon. Must chat with him later. She took me to have a little bit of lunch, and then directed me towards the Valintar's Office. Where i talked to Kaden, and then came here. Been a while since i've seen Kaden. Glad to see him still healthy." Val contemplated Ishgrameer's response, and found it to be reasonable and without falsehoods. Stroking his chin-as if he had once obtained a beard worth stroking-Val thought about his next question. "Very well then and i suppose even though you've already managed your way into the city, and amidst the citizens what is it that you seek within the walls of Wind Reach?"

Ishgrameer contemplated his choice of words for a good deal of time as Val patiently waited. It had nothing to do with getting the right answer, but more that Ishgrameer was in no rush and was a truly contemplative soul. After a few silent minutes Ishgrameer came to his conclusion "I am here to make right a promise. To honor the final wishes of my mother, and find companionship in whatever form it is gifted to me." Val looked to man over again, as if truly assessing him for the first time. Nothing about his features startled or surprised him, and he thought that what stood before him was as honest a person as there ever was. He wondered to himself what fate awaited this fellow within Wind Reach, and who he would befriend along the way. Seeing how he'd be living in the gatehouse among the other raptors he figured he would perhaps be among them (if only in conversation and the occasional lesson). "Very well lad, then let me officially welcome you to Wind Reach. You can follow me into the gatehouse and pick make yourself a roost, and get settled in. Though try to keep the transforming to a minimum when in the gatehouse, don't want ya spooking the other birds. Though I'm sure after some time and conversation they'll warm up to you." Glad that Val was satisfied with him, Ishgrameer shouldered his heart and pack and followed Val into the gatehouse. It was truly a new beginning, at last his quest had begun in truth. Somewhere within Wind Reach there lived someone who would become the most important person in his life, and he wondered with all his heart who it was.
