Frowning gently Reaver looked to the young man. He had been disappointed by the reaction and had at least hopped to have heard an adorable story of young romance. But sometimes you simply couldn't force things to happen any more than time could be stopped. His thoughts gave pause, now that would be something to have for sure. The ability to play with time itself, though he'd dare not trespass there. Sure it would be fun but when you mess with a god's domain you can very well sign a death warrant, and in some cases worse. Focusing on the here and now he looked to Atticus and raised one of his dark brows. He objected to being called a good boy? Most young men would be happy to receive praise. Though he did suspect that everyone was different and had their own wishes. And so he let out a sigh and placed a hand on the boy's shoulder and pet it gently. "Very well Atticus, I'll just call you as your name is. Also I'd more than love to see this show you've described. It sounds extremely interesting if not entertaining at the very least." Letting a calm smile claim his lips he cast a long look at the fountain once more his eyes settled upon it then he scanned around the crowd. His sharp blue eyes picking up details he didn't care for. Brown cloaks, black coats, and people of abundance. Though his thoughts began to shift as he remembered what Atticus had said about the dancers.

A light blush graced his face, though Atticus had reaffirmed there was little nudity or it was simply gone too quickly to reminisce over. It didn't stop his mind from going into over drive like most men's did when it came to such a topic. Letting his mind drift off into thoughts best left within his mind it was a full chime and a half before he realized he was just standing there like an idiot. Quickly he focused his eyes on the fountain though he had been admiring it the whole time. Sighing gently he looked to Atticus again. "This was a very marvelous sight. Though I am curious to know of what else you have to show me in this fair city of yours? And what other stories that you'll indulgent me with." Reaver let out his most charming smile once more, in all honesty the boy was an object of curiosity to him. He had woven quite a fine tale around the fountain, and it was a great choice indeed for a first sight. Quite curious now and with higher expectations for their next destination he felt afterwards they should pick up something to eat. After all he was sure that the growing boy by his side would like to eat something. He just hoped his little guide didn't eat him out of hearth and home. Not that he really had either of them at the moment.

"They might return this Spring. If they are indeed in Endrykas at the moment, it would be easy for them to, though I have heard that things are not going so well there at the moment. Apparently, a disease has taken on and a very large percentage of the population has died."

Such a thing would have upset her as a child, for she had been very sensitive to the suffering of all kinds of people, even complete strangers, but now it was a fact. She did not dispute it nor did she question it. It was life. Arianthe turned back to the matter at hand. It amused her to see him flush slightly and she realised the idea of the dance was quite appealing to him.

"I thought we would head up this way towards West Street, which is the most affluent area of Zeltiva - it is very expensive but is very historically significant so worth looking at. After that, maybe you'd like to eat or we could go straight on to a tour of the University. At any point, you have the right to request anything or to ask to slow down or if anything strikes your interest... or if you wish to stop. I can be very flexible."

With a small smile, Arianthe indicated that they go down a small street to the left which she knew led out by the boot boutique, an icon of Zeltivan business.

Cringing lightly he looked at Atticus as he spoke of sickness in the roving and ever moving city of Endrykas. His usual smile fell appart showing some empathy for wanderers of the sea of grass. He felt no kin to them but it was always polite to offer a bit of sorrow and pity to those in worse conditions. Though Zeltiva was not quite sturdy on its feet at least they where able to request aid from othe places. And had the advantage of importing more healers through the sea. With a happier thought in mind his charming smile quickly took its rightful place upon his face in no time at all.

As Atticus purposed his next plan of attacking the cities ever eluding streets Reaver gave pause for thought. What did he want to do? He did have a nice breakfast however he had burned most of it away when he was running like a madman to try and find the Kelp Bar. Not the most predictive thing but certainly the most active he had done all today. He had indeed gotten hungry in their endeavor. Nodding as he gave ti the last mull over and then looked to him.

"I like the idea of seen new sights and getting some food. Lead the way and I will happily follow my dear young friend!" He smiled and happily padded the young man on the back. Chuckling lightly as his stomach was swift to agree with his opinion on food. The rumble of his stomach announced to the world around him his condition. This caused a gentle blush on his face looking around he noticed a few people staring at him. Leaning down to Atticus he spoke again. "Right then, that was embarrassing. Why don't we err, hurry along now then yes?"

Arianthe had to use much self restraint to prevent herself from laughing outright at the sound of the rumbling stomach and she made her mind up that it was better to find a place to eat sooner rather than later, though maybe it would have been greatly amusing to observe what further sounds Reaver's stomach made if she insisted on they continuing and not eating immediately.

"We should go to find food before going up West Street. If we do that first, I am afraid you will attract all the people we come across to stare at you and, if we eat in an establishment on West Street, it will cost a great deal more. Unfortunately because, in spite of all, they do some delicious food there. Venison, Pork, Beef with exotic flavours like vanilla, chilli, coconut, pineapple and paprika of course. You might not have heard of those, but I do declare that pork chunks with olives, pineapples, green beans, onions and sweetcorn is one of the most delicious ensembles you should ever taste." Arianthe bit her lip and cursed herself. She did not want to betray the fact that she came from quite a rich family originally, though she now had little to no money, and pineapple at one hundred and fifty golden mizas a pound was a huge luxury, "Of course I have not had some in a long time." she added truthfully, hoping to remedy the situation.

In the local inn, they did good game meat and beer, as well as lighter, more gourmet food. She was sure Reaver would approve and, it was with a small smile that she indicated that they enter the 'Dancing Donkey'. It was warm and cosy on the inside but simultaneously simple and quite rustic, a couple of roaring fires, wooden beams painted a dark red, walls painted a warm dark yellow and a few wooden tables with a mixture of benches and armchairs clustered around, not to mention a bar, of course, behind which a pretty buxom blonde was standing serving the customers, the daughter of the owner. The owner, a large woman of middle years, worked going around the tables, half socialising, half acting as a waitress. It was quite full, loud enough so as to not be overheard conversing but quiet enough to hear conversation easily enough. Full enough to not monopolise the attention of the staff and bartender and owner but empty enough to be served quickly and to have a table to yourself.

Arianthe was chilly, despite the men's clothes which were considerably warmer than her women's ones and the heavy velvet cloak wrapped around her, so she indicated to Reaver that they sit in a couple of stiff armchairs near the fire with a table in between. She removed her cloak with a light smile of relief and settled herself into the chair which was large and almost dwarfed her in comparison so that she looked almost like a small, feminine boy nestled in it.

Further embarrassment graced Reaver as the boy mocked him. He was thinking about bringing up the fact that the boy still sounded like a woman. But he figured that would be a touchy subject with the lad. And the last thing he wanted to do was get left behind and lost while his guide ran off. Especially if he had been led to a more desperate part of the city. His mind was already fabricating many unpleasant situations he could find himself in. Only to reiterate the point of getting lost in would be a bad idea. With that thought out of his mind he eagerly followed the boy. Listening as he spoke of fine and rather expensive foods. He had suspected before that the child probably came from a rich family, this was only adding fuel to his fire. But why would a young man of a rich family be wandering around the streets with a vagabond like himself? Not that he actually was a vagabond he just wanted to use the word really. His mind paused, he had distracted himself again. It was really annoying when he did this to himself. Shaking his head and tossing his dark locks around his face he marched on with the boy.

His footsteps hardly a breath behind the lads as he led him to an inn. The 'Dancing Donkey', unique, to say the least. However the outside was appealing enough to the eye, perhaps he may as well give it a chance. As they walked in he looked around surprised to find it suiting to his taste and rather nicely at that. Warm fires to heat the frozen patrons, wooden beams painted a dark red akin to the glowing hearth. With warm dark yellow walls and a few wooden tables strewn about. The lazy mixture of benches and armchairs scattered about the place. This place was defiantly his type of bar, and his favorite one so far!

Smiling as he felt the warmth grace his skin he inhaled the smell of alcohol and food. Shuddering gently as he felt his body relax slowly as the cold let go of him at last. Watching the young boy dart off towards a pair of large armchairs by the fire with a table between the two. A fine choice if he ever did see one himself, looking around as he walked he took pause to see the owner. She would have been rather attractive if she where a few years younger. His sharp blue eyes settling on an beautiful woman standing at the bar. His brow raised as he made a rather unwise choice of walking and looking at the same time. He kept walking on staring at the blonde as he stumbled into his armchair, falling into it. He fumbled around as a mess of red and black before finally managing to put his rear in the seat and his head well past the back rest of the chair. As he straightened out his clothes his cheeks turned a slight crimson from the embarrassment. This was certainly proving to really not be his day, if it continued on like this he may very well just pack it in and pass out in a bar somewhere.

Figuring it was best to focus his attention on the boy before him he offered a smile at him. He glanced at the woman behind the bar then back at the boy. Warped logic began to turn in his mind as he smiled at Atticus. When they had met up the boy had a blonde hair on his head, he also seemed rather embarrassed and mentioned something about meeting a cousin. The smile on Reaver's face turned sly as he bent over, resting his elbows on his knees while he brought his hands up to his face. His long and thin figure looked more than a little creepy, and the glow from the fire did little to remove his look. He took a breath and smiled as he spoke. "So tell me, lucky lad, that little blonde hair I found on you this morning. Wouldn't have happened to belong to the woman standing behind the bar. You're 'cousin' as it where~?" It was clear he was really grasping at random straws. But the entertainment he was getting from this was just delicious and clear to see for anyone. Though within the next moment he sat erect in his chair. The look of his face simple and content as he asked a few more questions before the boy could answer. "Also what do they serve here? Or is it just fish, fish and more fish in this fair city?"

Arianthe smiled lightly at Reaver's suggestion that she might in someway be romantically linked with the blonde behind the bar, Peonia, but didn't say anything at first. She was not in the habit of giving many definite answers as a rule since ambiguity had served her well in the past, but she did not think that she would gain much by treating this question lightly.

"If you want fish, you can have fish. It is mostly fish." Arianthe paused and smiled enigmatically, before continuing, "And game. Of course, the meat they serve might not always be what they might say it is, but it should taste fine all the same."
Then, she returned to the previous question.

"Peonia is not my cousin, though I know her better, I imagine, than most people do."

She was not quite sure if this counted as teasing, but it was completely true. Arianthe had first met Peonia very young and though she would usually never have associated with a barmaid or daughter of one due to her strict upbringing, at the time it had been perfectly fine to associate with the daughter of a grocery merchant, even if a little nouveau riche. That family too had fallen on hard times, but whereas Arianthe had not adapted well, Peonia had flourished in her new environment. She sounded like a barmaid, acted like a barmaid and was the toast of every man who ever entered her mother's establishment. She did not mind hitching up her skirts at two o'clock in the morning to dance and sing for the sailors, for she had always dreamed of performing (much like Arianthe, though Arianthe preferred more serious theatre) and she did not mind showing proof of good will with gentlemen friends. She was clever too. Most people didn't know that.

Arianthe noted that there had been a short silence and, with an apology for having her mind elsewhere, continued speaking.

"Really. There is nothing of any sort going on between us. Indeed between me and any man. Woman." a slip of the tongue but it did not look like Reaver had noticed.

"What will you have?"

She rested her chin on her hand and looked up at the tall, dark man sitting opposite her through her dark lashes. It was something she had always liked doing with new acquaintances when she was younger as if this partial veil served to hide her interest and observation of those around her.

Reaver's mind began to turn full tilt as his odd logic pushed his mind to think of several things as he listened to the young lad talk. His smile still spread across his lips as sly as it ever could be. His piercing blue gaze aimed right at Atticus's own listening to his words patiently. And although Peonia was not the blond he had been lead to believe that didn't exactly roll her out~ Considering the boy had said he knew her better than most. Oh his mind was already cranking out twisted ideas! His thoughts causing such delightful imagery in his mind. Squirming in his seat as thoughts of buxom young blondes bouncing in his head. He let out another chuckle as he played with his gloved hands by the hearth. Planted firmly in the chair he let his hands come together idly playing with them. All the while the world transgressed around him. Though his mind was broken when he heard the young man spoke. Something about women? He shook his head slightly and blinked a few times before he regained himself. Coughing lightly he sat upright once more as he focused on the conversation. What had she said, he wondered and tried to think of what she said and only vaguely recalled what she had said. "Ehh right my apologies I missed that part a little. Ah right! A shame you've no romantic ambitions with any women. As I understand some women find the more, less masculine types, far more attractive."

Chuckling lightly with good humor and a smile that didn't seem flinch even with his own light laughter. He quickly managed to regain himself and some form of seriousness as he tapped his chin deciding on what food he'd order to eat. The thing was he enjoyed pub food the best, it always seasoned with something he could never detect. With a small sigh he ran a hand through his dark locks as he gave a more friendly look to his new accomplice. He paused and pushed the thought, as fun as it would be he doubted the boy would be interested in magic. Or to become his assistant, he had a feeling it be useful having the lad run errands and help in testing spells. Though he supposed it would be best if he taught him some shielding in case something went wrong. He blinked again confused, perhaps he should just remained focused on the situation rather than let his mind run away with thoughts and ideas. Sighing he tried to sit a little more upright.

"Ah right I think I know what I want. Just a simple plate of steak with some diced potato's all seasoned and just a little spiced." He spoke putting both his hands together bringing them up to his face and wiggling like a child with his first bit of candy. Looking over at his friend he peered again at the blonde Peonia, wiggling his eyebrows. "So I must wonder, your a young man yes? Tell me you must have your eyes set on some young woman? I mean honestly your still young you should be doting over at least someone no? Or are you more for, the well. Gentlemen lets say. There's nothing wrong with it, not in my eyes at least. Hmmm I think I should shut up about now." He paused as he silently stroked the black stubble on his chin.

Arianthe considered what was being said, not without some delight at the ridiculousness of such a situation. Nobody ever asked her about relationships and, as soon as she dresses up as a man, suddenly the man opposite her could not let the question lie about the women in her life.

"Maybe some women find the less masculine types attractive, and I am sure you have much experience with women, but I should not think many would be attracted to me. Such an attraction is based on animal magnetism, which I do not feel I have so much of."

At least when dressed in such attire... though Arianthe. Otherwise, she knew she had far from a negative effect on the opposite sex. With that thought in mind, she raised a hand so that someone would come to take the order. One of the barmaids, a small, dark snippet of a woman, came over looking grumpy. Undeterred, Arianthe conveyed Reaver's order.

"I'll have the same, thank you... and a pitcher of wine."

Arianthe noted the way Reaver fidget with no little amusement, and wondered if it were possible to fidget, jiggle or whatsoever, with elegance. She supposed so, and Reaver half managed it, probably due to his great height.

"Doting over someone? Not currently no and, as for gentleman, well let's say I am open-minded and if the right one came along..." Arianthe broke off with an enigmatic smile, "What about you? We talk about me, but I am not really a very interesting subject for character analysis. That said, I doubt you have anyone special in your life yet, bearing in mind you have only just arrived in Zeltiva."
Arianthe paused, at which time the pitcher of wine came over. Arianthe poured herself some into a goblet, took a sip then looked up.

"Would you like some Sir?"

Shifting in his seat slightly he kept his eyes on the boy before him. He really was a strange young man sitting across from him. He had unfortunately been disappointed again, but the responses did at least entertain him to a degree. Still this was proving rather interesting so he figured it was best to just roll with what he had going. "Well you can be surprised at some women these days. Honestly animal magnetism doesn't quite cover it all, where that true. I'm sure women would be flocking to the nearest Akalak that walked into a city. Seriously those guys are tall, buff, blue, and I'm pretty sure they emit some sort of aphrodisiac from them." Reaver spoke with an stray twitch in his brow, his face twisting into one resembling some sort of jealousy. Though he enjoyed keeping an open mind and seeing things from more than one point of view. Reaver wasn't exactly racist. Though that didn't mean he wasn't rather jealous of the natural attributes of other races. However he doubted that once, and hopefully he could reach a level appropriate. That his talents and knowledge in djed could make some of those physically superior races a little jealous. "And as for the women of my life, believe it or not. I've really done nothing beyond some innocent flirting. Maybe a grab here and there but otherwise I'm much more experienced than a twelve year old boy~" Reaver let his broad smile grace his lips again. No shame touching his cheeks as he admitted his limited romantic encounters.

Waiting patiently as Atticus raised his hand and spoke the order he tried to sit as politely as possible. His smiling face graced the dark haired woman, his sharp eyes picking up a few small details. Her delightful and unhappy eyes, the grumpy personality, the raven locks around her head, her gentle skin, and the light sun kissed flecks that graced a few spots on her cheeks. Wait, those cheeks. His eyes darted to Atticus's face, their cheeks where similar but not quite. Moving to look again the woman had already walked off, what was that just now? Perhaps it was just nothing, though it could be something, he'd have to return to that thought later perhaps. For now, its time for manners. "Ah thank you for ordering for me my young friend. You're quite the helpful guide~" He smiled taking a pause as he eyed the pitcher of wine for a moment. His eyes drew back up to Atticus as he heard the lad speak.

"Well, that is definitely an interesting response, I admit though I'm for women myself. Men can look as pretty as they want, woman just have, assets men just don't have." He smiled eyeing the young waitresses again. His attention shifted to Atticus once more. "Oh my dear friend you sell yourself shorter than your stature permits! To an outsider like me you've provided to be quite the entreating character! You've provided so much entertainment as well. And your one of the few who have talked with me here! I am more than pleased to call you a friend! And yes you make an astute observation I've yet to actually 'talk' with a woman here yet. Though I few women could provide much interest to me back in Syliras I hope that Zeltiva won't disappoint me. It has yet to do so thus far. So I hope that a woman here could prove to entertain and interest me." His gaze fell off for a moment until it snapped back at Atticus's offer. Smiling once more and quickly becoming lightened up once more he chuckled gently. "Yes I'd love a glass! And honestly there's no need to call me sir Atticus, I'm hardly holder than you!" He swiped a glass, stood up, bent over and held his glass towards Atticus. His smile twisting wide, his head tilting slightly his dark locks moving around his head freely.

For the first time, Arianthe felt that maybe her answer, though designed to leave her words open for interpretation, had maybe disappointed her guide

"Don't you like Akalaks? You forget that besides the physical appearance, they are brave, noble fighters, incredibly skilled weapons masters and, from what I've heard, intelligent for the most part." Arianthe laughed, "I think there is a branch of our family tree that went off in the Akalak direction... a great aunt of some sort, pretty in her prime but completely batty from what I've heard of her - strange habits - , who went off to Riverfall, sired a child there and did not return. Of course, I do not think she is still living for pregnancy to an Akalak is dangerous and she would be close to ninety something or other by now."

Arianthe took another sip of her wine and raised a hand in acknowledgement of Reaver's thanks for ordering, but also a gesture meaning 'It was nothing. Don't thank me.'

"I suppose my family tree is full of batty old aunts and beautiful young women who fall through ceilings and down rabbit holes, now I think about it. Even my Father enjoyed playing the trumpet at three o'clock in the morning and, a few times, swam out to greet his trading ships completely clothed. And then there was my great grandmother, who was a famous courtesan who lived in a large mansion almost completely covered with moss. It looked more like a huge, ornamented tree trunk than a house. I must say, It doesn't help the reputation of my family as a bunch of eccentrics, though I think acquaintances view it more as 'Nutty as Fruitcakes'. You see, in comparison, I am really rather dull, though I am sure I should break more into the scene of lunacy by my thirtieth birthday." She added the last half as a joke, "But if you find me entertaining, then I suppose my vanity is gratified."

Arianthe was quiet now, for she felt she had rather talked too much.

"I'll not call you sir then. I am afraid it is just the form of address I am most accustomed to."
With that, Arianthe stood up and poured a generous amount of the wine into Reaver's outstretched glass.
